Product Usage Instructions
Installation:
Before installation, ensure you have read the instruction manual carefully.
- Ensure the power socket is adjacent to the fixture in the ceiling cavity.
- Use personal protection equipment during installation.
- Cut out the appropriate hole size based on the model number using a hole saw.
- Connect the fitting to the power socket using the provided cord and 2-pin Mains Plug.
- Select the desired color temperature (White – 4200K or Daylight – 6500K) via the CCT switch.
- Refer to the INSULATION RATING IC-4 section for specific details on insulation requirements.
Insulation Rating IC-4:
- This downlight has an IC insulation rating in accordance with AS/NZS 60598.2.2.
- A TYPE IC-4 RECESSED LUMINAIRE CAN BE ABUTTED AGAINST NORMALLY FLAMMABLE MATERIALS, INCLUDING BUILDING INSULATION, AND CAN BE COVERED IN NORMAL USE.
- Loose-fill insulation should not abut or cover the downlight. The IC-4 rating is only applicable to the downlight itself, and the driver must not be covered with thermal insulation.
Note:
Full insulation coverage may lead to lumen depreciation and a shorter lifespan
compared to open-air installation.

A: No, the driver must not be covered with thermal insulation. Refer to the

DIY INSTALLATION
*() DIY INSTALLATION**
- (*)-This product is fitted with a cord and 2-pin Mains Plug and it is designed to be connected to an existing power socket, located adjacent to the fixture in the ceiling cavity. It can be installed by qualified personnel.
- However, if a power socket needs to be installed it must be completed. by a qualified electrician.
- Any alterations or additions to building wiring must be completed by a licensed electrician or person authorized by legislation to work on the fixed wiring of any electrical installation under the latest AS/NZS 3000 standards and relevant amendments

For Your Safety, please read this instruction manual carefully before installation.
- The installation must follow building regulations and codes.
- Ensure the power is OFF before the installation.
- When drilling into walls and ceilings, care must be taken to ensure you do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
- This Downlight is dimmable. See the “RECOMMENDED DIMMERS ‘ section for more details.
- If you are not familiar with this type of fitting or are unsure how to install it contact a licensed electrician for installation.
Installation
- Ensure the power is switched off.
- Check for hidden cables or utilities in the ceiling before cutting the hole in the plaster.
- Use a hole saw and carefully cut the hole in the plaster. Use suitable personal protection equipment. Hole saws vary in the actual hole size, so it is best to cut a hole in a scrap piece of plaster to check the fit. ( Fig 1)
- Ensure the LED driver is connected to the LED Downlight via male and female connectors.
- Select the desired Colour Temperature ( Warm White (3000K), Cool White (4200K), or Daylight 6500K)) via the CCT switch.
- Insert the plug, cord, and LED driver into the ceiling and connect the plug to a suitable power socket ‘W’ (*) Note: The power socket needs to be installed by a qualified electrician.
- Push the side springs up against the body of the Downlight gently slide the LED body through the hole and ensure it is flush against the ceiling ( Fig, 2)
- If the Downlight is abutted or covered with thermal insulation, please see the “INSULATION RATING IC-4” section for more details.
- Turn the power on.
Insulation Rating IC-4:
This Downlight has achieved an IC insulation rating under AS/NZS 60598.2.2.
A TYPE IC-4 RECESSED LUMINAIRE CAN BE ABUTTED AGAINST NORMALLY FLAMMABLE MATERIALS, INCLUDING BUILDING INSULATION, AND CAN BE COVERED IN NORMAL USE.
- Loose-fill insulation is not recommended to abut or cover the Downlight.

Consideration
Full insulation coverage of the Downlight will increase lumen depreciation resulting in a shorter life span than an open-air installation.

Warnings
- To prevent electrical shock, ensure that POWER is DISCONNECTED before installation and or maintenance.
- Installation, maintenance, and inspection for safety concerns should be done by qualified personnel.
- Do not touch any parts of the assembly with bare hands while it is hot.
- Do not install in a position where the fitting can be easily accessed by children.
- Be aware of the height of your installation. Refer to the ‘Working at Heights’ guide from your local or State Authorities.
- Any alterations or additions to building wiring must be completed by a licensed electrician or person authorized by legislation to work on the fixed wiring of any electrical installation.
- Do not disassemble or remold the product to avoid electrical shock or to cause failure of the light.

Warranty
Brilliant Lighting warrants this product against defects in manufacture and workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase or as specified on the packaging. For products used in non-domestic or commercial applications, Brilliant Lighting warrants this product for 3 months from the date of purchase. This warranty is only valid for products installed by a qualified electrical contractor and operated within the guidelines specified by Brilliant Lighting, and within the correct operating voltage ranges as stated on the product’s rating label. Warranty does not include damage or loss arising from incorrect installation, operation, or maintenance of this product, damage caused through modification, incorrect installation, service by unqualified or unauthorized personnel or lack of regular maintenance and cleaning. Proof of installation by qualified personnel may be required, eg. Electrical Safety Certificate. Proof of purchase must be supplied with all warranty claims.
This warranty is provided in addition to any other rights and remedies of the customer under any law. In applications not intended for household, personal, or domestic use, liability is limited to replacement or reimbursement of product only. Brilliant Lighting does not warranty the costs of removal or re- installation of this product or associated components.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Any claim under this warranty must be made within 3 years of the date of purchase of the product. To claim the warranty; at your own expense take the product (with proof of purchase – receipt or similar) to the store where you purchased the product or contact Brilliant Lighting at the address below.
