MOUNTING THE SIGHT
Warning : Be sure that the firearm is not loaded. Always practice safe firearms handling.
- The Reflex Sight is supplied with a low-profile base that is designedfor Weaver/Picatinny rails. For installation, loosen the bolt located at the side of the low-profile base. Place the sight onto a Weaver/Picatinny rail in the desired position. Tighten the bolt until the sight is held firmly in place. Recommended torque is 20 in/lbs (1.7 ft/lbs, or 2.3 Nm) for rail attachment screws.
- If desired, the base can be removed by unscrewing the 2 screws on the top of the sight. The sight can then be installed directly onto adapter plates and pistol slides for an even lower mounting position. Recommended torque is 12 in/lbs (1.0 ft/lbs, or 1.4 Nm) for base attachment screws.
WINDAGE AND ELEVATION ADJUSTMENT
- The windage and elevation adjusters are located at the rear of the sight on the top and right side. A tool has been supplied to make adjustments. Each click of adjustment is measured in MOA (minutes of angle) on the target. 1 click = 1 MOA. 1 MOA = 1” at 100 yards (29mm \at 100m).
- Therefore at different ranges, each click of adjustment changes e.g. ½” at 50 yards (15mm at 50m), ¼” at 25 yards (7mm at 25m).
- From a steady rest position fire three rounds at a target. Observe point of impact on the target and adjust windage and elevation turrets as needed to correct aim. For left/right adjustment, turn the windage turret clockwise to move the point of impact left and counter- clockwise to move the point of impact right. For up/down adjustment, turn the elevation turret clockwise to lower the point of impact down and counter-clockwise to raise the point of impact up. E.g. if the round has landed below where aimed, then the point of impact needs to be raised. This is done by adjusting the elevation turret counter-clockwise in the direction of “Up”.
ILLUMINATION
- Turn the sight on by pressing the ▲ button on the side of the sight. The brightness can be adjusted using the ▲ and ▼ buttons. High brightness settings are recommended for daytime use when ambient light is bright. At times of low light such a dawn or dusk, a lower brightness setting is recommended. Lower settings may not be visible during bright daylight.
- Built in A.I.M. (Auto Illumination Mode) technology puts the sight into standby mode if no movement is detected for 5 minutes. The sight will power on again as soon as movement is detected. Please note, when on standby mode, a small amount of power will still be consumed from the battery.
- The sight can be powered off manually by holding the ▼ button for 3 seconds.
- Battery Life: A single battery can last for several years of daily use while on a daylight-bright setting and without the sight needing to be turned off manually.
Model/Battery/Battery Life
- Hawke 12150 CR2032 2-3 years
- Hawke 12151 CR2032 1-1.5 years
This is based on 8-10 hours of use on brightness level 6 and 14-16 hours of
A.I.M. standby mode per day. Please note, the battery life will vary depending
on the reticle option chosen.
This sight uses a CR2032 coin style lithium battery. To insert a new battery,
use the tool supplied to remove the two screws on the top of the sight. The
top section can now be removed from the base. The battery is located on the
underside. Insert the new battery “+” side facing towards the base and replace
top section.
