    – It may cause various accidents, including suffocation, due to the suction of harmful gasses(CO, etc.)

  • Install the product a place that can support its weight.

  • Precautions must be taken to avoid the back-flow of gases into the room from the open flue of gas or other fuel-burning appliances.

  • When installing, servicing, or repairing the UV LED, the modules provided by LG Electronics must be used. If necessary, please contact an LG Electronics Service Center.

  • Be careful as UC‑V may be released to the outside due to unintended use of the product or damage to the product. UV‑C can harm the eyes and skin even if the exposure is small.

  • Do not touch or clean the product while the UVnano function is operating.

  • The UV‑LEDis a part that does not require cleaning. Do not separately clean parts with UV risk labels or the UV‑LED.
    – Injury may occur.

  • Unintended use of the appliance or damage to the housing may result in the escape of dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation may, even in little doses, cause harm to the eyes and skin.

  • This appliance contains a UV-C lamp.

  • When the appliances are damaged or need to replaced, disconnect the power supply and contact the service center.

  • Do not operate UV-C lamp outside of the appliance.

  • Do not clean and touch air deflector during operation.

  • Before opening doors and access panels bearing the ultraviolet radiation hazard symbol for the conducting user maintenance, it is recommended to disconnect the power.

  • Do not install the unit in potentially explosive atmospheres.

  • Doors and access panels bearing the ultraviolet radiation hazard symbol which may have UV-C spectral irradiance greater than 1.7 μW/cm2 are provided with an interlock switch to interrupt the power to the UV-C lamps for your safety. Do not over-ride.

  • UV-C barriers bearing the ultraviolet radiation hazard symbol should not be removed.

  • For appliances with UV-C lamps, information on the replacement of UV-C lamps shall be given, including the model and/or part number.

  • If field installed, the factory specified UV-C germicidal lamp systems approved for use with the subject product shall be specified in the instructions by the specific model number.

Smart Functions

Using LG ThinQ Application

Things to check before using LG ThinQ

  • For appliances with the or ThinQ logo.

1. Check the distance between the appliance and the wireless router (Wi-Fi network).

If the distance between the appliance and the wireless router is too far, the signal strength becomes weak. It may take a long time to register or installation may fail.

2. Turn off the Mobile data or Cellular Data on your smartphone.

3. Connect your smartphone to the wireless router.

NOTE

  • To verify the Wi-Fi connection, check that Wi-Fi icon on the control panel is lit.
  • The appliance supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only. To check your network frequency, contact your Internet service provider or refer to your wireless router manual.
  • LG ThinQ is not responsible for any network connection problems or any faults, malfunctions, or errors caused by network connection.
  • If the appliance is having trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi network, it may be too far from the router. Purchase a Wi-Fi repeater (range extender) to improve the Wi-Fi signal strength.
  • The Wi-Fi connection may not connect or may be interrupted because of the home network environment.
  • The network connection may not work properly depending on the Internet service provider.
  • The surrounding wireless environment can make the wireless network service run slowly.
  • The appliance cannot be registered due to problems with the wireless signal transmission. Unplug the appliance and wait about a minute before trying again.
  • If the firewall on your wireless router is enabled, disable the firewall or add an exception to it.
  • The wireless network name (SSID) should be a combination of English letters and numbers.(Do not use special characters.)
  • Smartphone user interface (UI) may vary depending on the mobile operating system (OS) and the manufacturer.
  • If the security protocol of the router is set to WEP, you may fail to set up the network. Please change it to other security protocols (WPA2 is recommended) and register the product again.
Installing LG ThinQ

Search for the LG ThinQ application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on a smart phone. Follow instructions to download and install the application.

Prior to operation

Preparing for operation

1. Contact an installation specialist for installation.
2. Plug in the power plug properly.
3. Use a dedicated circuit.
4. Do not use an extension cord.
5. Do not start/stop operation by plugging/unplugging the power cord.
6. If the cord/plug is damaged, replace it with only an authorized replacement part.

Usage

1. Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health. Do not expose occupants, pets, or plants to direct airflow for extended periods of time.
2. Due to the possibility of oxygen deficiency, ventilate the room when used together with stoves or other heating devices.
3. Do not use this ventilator for non-specified special purposes (e.g. preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects). Such usage could damage the items.

Cleaning and maintenance

1. Do not touch the metal parts of the unit when removing the filter. Injuries can occur when handling sharp metal edges.
2. Do not use water to clean inside the ventilator. Exposure to water can destroy the insulation, leading to possible electric shock.
3. When cleaning the unit, first make sure that the power and breaker are turned off. The fan rotates at a very high speed during operation. There is a possibility of injury if the unit’s power is accidentally triggered on while cleaning inner parts of the unit.
4. Ensure that the fan is switched off from the supply mains before removing the guard.

11. UV LED

  • The indoor air quality is displayed so you can check the cleanliness.
  • You can check the indoor cleanliness step by step.
  • Dust concentrations are expressed as 4 μg/m3 to 999 μg/m3.
  •  The dust concentration can change continuously with changes in the indoor environment.
  • If there is a lot of dust in the place where the product is installed, the displayed dust concentration and the actual concentration may differ significantly.
  • Depending on the model, some functions may not be displayed/operated or may be different.
  • Find out the concentration of fine dust by the color of the overall cleanliness of the indoor unit display part.
  • The overall cleanliness is displayed in four colors under the main screen of the indoor unit display according to the concentration of fine dust.
  • It is displayed based on items with high pollution levels among fine dust, ultra-fine dust, and ultra-fine dust.

Using UVnano Function

  •  UVnano is a compound word of UV (ultraviolet rays) and nanometer (length unit).
  • This function reduces various bacteria inside the air conditioner.

NOTE

  • UV is displayed on some indoor units, depending on the model.
  • The UVnano function stops when the air conditioner is turned off.

Characteristics

Ventilation via total heat exchanger

Exhausts indoor air via the total heat exchanger outdoor.

  • The outdoor air heat exchanged is supplied to indoor. Operate the ventilator in the ventilation via total heat exchanger in summer/winter when cool/heat operation is done.
Normal ventilation

Exhausts the polluted indoor-air directly without via the total heat exchanger.

  • Operate the ventilator in the normal ventilation in spring/autumn when the total heat exchanger is not required.

CAUTION

In case of high outdoor pollution degree like yellow sand please pause the ventilator.

Things to check before using LG ThinQ · For appliances with the or ThinQ logo.

  1. Check the distance between the appliance and the wireless router (Wi-Fi network).
    · If the distance between the appliance and the wireless router is too far, the signal strength becomes weak. It may take a long time to register or installation may fail.
    2. Turn off the Mobile data or Cellular Data on your smartphone.
    3. Connect your smartphone to the wireless router.
    NOTE · To verify the Wi-Fi connection, check that Wi-Fi icon on the control panel is lit. · The appliance supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only. To check your network frequency, contact

1. Contact an installation specialist for installation. 2. Plug in the power plug properly. 3. Use a dedicated circuit. 4. Do not use an extension cord. 5. Do not start/stop operation by plugging/unplugging the power cord. 6. If the cord/plug is damaged, replace it with only an authorized replacement part.
Usage
1. Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health. Do not expose occupants, pets, or plants to direct airflow for extended periods of time.
2. Due to the possibility of oxygen deficiency, ventilate the room when used together with stoves or other heating devices.
3. Do not use this ventilator for non-specified special purposes (e.g. preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects). Such usage could damage the items.
Cleaning and maintenance
1. Do not touch the metal parts of the unit when removing the filter. Injuries can occur when handling sharp metal edges.
2. Do not use water to clean inside the ventilator. Exposure to water can destroy the insulation, leading to possible electric shock.
3. When cleaning the unit, first make sure that the power and breaker are turned off. The fan rotates at a very high speed during operation. There is a possibility of injury if the unit’s power is accidentally triggered on while cleaning inner parts of the unit.
4. Ensure that the fan is switched off from the supply mains before removing the guard.

Method to operate and select air volume ­ Interlinked operation with ventilation
It is used when air conditioner is interlinked with ventilation product. It is a function that cools and refreshes indoor air using the ventilation product at the same time operating the air conditioning function.
Ventilation interlinked operation
1 Press button on the remote controller control panel. – It is only used when air conditioner and general ventilation is interlinked.
2 Pressing ‘Start/Stop’ button at ventilation mode will start ventilation.
3 Pressing button will change the ventilation operation mode. Pressing operation selection button will change the mode in the order of ‘heat exchange normal automatic’ It only displays on the remote controller display when it is in ventilation mode, and it displays the desired temperature when it returns to air condition mode.
4 Pressing button in general ventilation mode will change airflow speed. Pressing airflow speed button will change the mode in the order of ‘low high power’. If CO2 sensor is installed, it can select from ‘low high power auto’.
5 Changing back to air conditioner mode 1)Automatic conversion : when no button is pressed for 15 seconds or longer, it automatically converts back to air conditioner mode. 2) Manual conversion : pressing button in ventilation mode will manually convert.

· The indoor air quality is displayed so you can check the cleanliness.
· You can check the indoor cleanliness step by step.
· Dust concentrations are expressed as 4 g/m3 to 999 g/m3.
· The dust concentration can change continuously with changes in the indoor environment.
· If there is a lot of dust in the place where the product is installed, the displayed dust concentration and the actual concentration may differ significantly.
· Depending on the model, some functions may not be displayed/operated or may be different.
· Find out the concentration of fine dust by the color of the overall cleanliness of the indoor unit display part.
· The overall cleanliness is displayed in four colors under the main screen of the indoor unit display according to the concentration of fine dust.

Handling and cleaning
To prevent function of the ventilator deteriorating, clean dust adhered to the air filter and total heat exchanger regularly.
Method to take each part out
! CAUTION
Take care to ensure that you could not damage when taking the air filter out since there is a sharp part on it.

Turn the breaker off when cleaning the product.
! CAUTION
Gloves should be worn when doing the maintenance work. · 150/200 CMH 1. Press the door button to open the access door.
2. Take the pre-filter, fine filter out. Take it out using the filter handle. (2 pre-filters, Fine filter). Make sure that the main power is turned off when removing the pre-filter as this is a model supporting UV LED. (UV exposure can cause injury.)
3. Take the total heat exchanger out. Loosen the stopper screw hanging on the heat exchange element. Pull the stopper in the same direction as in the picture. Take it out using the handle of the heat exchange element. When removing the stopper, hold it with your other hand so the heat exchange element does not fall.
