- This wooden outdoor floor decking is pre-treated with water-based wood stain to make the surface durable enough for outdoor use. However, wood is a natural material that will age and require further maintenance depending on the climate and use.
- For example, rain, snow, sunlight and abrasion from usage can accelerate discoloring and aging.
- The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor floor decking is by cleaning it regularly and re-staining it on a regular basis.
MAINTENANCE
- You can easily refresh your wooden outdoor floor decking and make it more durable by restaining it on a regular basis, for example, once a year.
- You may need to re-stain the floor decking more frequently, depending on the climate you live in and the floor decking’s exposure to sun and rain.
- Re-staining prevents the surface from drying out and cracking and moisture from penetrating into the wood. A good indication that you need to re-stain is if raindrops are absorbed directly into the wood and no longer form small beads on the surface
