SENCOR SKS 4030BK Kitchen scale
Before first use, please read all instructions contained in this user’s manual
carefully, even if you are already familiar with using similar products. Only
use this product in accordance with the instructions described in the user’s
manual. Please store this manual for later use.
Keep the original packaging, including the internal packing material, warranty
card and proof of purchase receipt, at least for the duration of the warranty.
If you need to ship this product, pack it in the original cardboard box to
ensure maximum protection during transport (e.g., when moving or when you need
to send this product for repair).
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
- Carefully unpack the product, and take care not to throw away any part of the packaging material before you have found all parts of the product.
- This appliance may be used by children 8 years of age and older and by persons with physical or mental impairments or by inexperienced persons, if they are properly supervised or have been informed about how to use of the product in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers. Do not allow children to play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance performed by the user must not be performed by unsupervised children.
- Under no circumstances should you repair or alter the product yourself. Entrust all repairs and adjustments to a specialised company/service. Tampering with the product may void the warranty.
- Store and use the product away from flammable or volatile materials and substances.
- Keep the product away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight and excessive humidity. Do not use in a dusty environment.
- Do not place the product near heaters, open fires or other sources of heat.
- This product is designed for household use. Do not use in industrial surroundings or outdoors!
- Do not use the product for purposes other than those intended.
- Do not spray the product with water or any other liquid. Do not submerge the product in water or any other liquid.
- If you will not be using the product for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Otherwise they may leak inside the product and cause irreparable damage.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by incorrect use of this appliance or its accessories. Such damages include food spoilage, injuries, burns, scalding, fire, etc.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Turning the scale on and off
Warning
Before first turning on the scale, please open the cover on its underside and
insert two 1.5 V AAA size batteries that are included with the scale.
- Turn the scale on by pressing the “ON/OFF ZERO” button.
- Turn the scale off by pressing the “ON/OFF ZERO” button.
Warning
The scale turns itself off automatically after approximately 2 seconds after
displaying “0.0” on the LCD display or in the event that it is idle. By
turning it off after weighing using the “ON/OFF ZERO” button you wi 11 save
the battery.
Switching units
On the underside of the scale there is a measuring unit switch, which is used
to change between metric and imperial measuring units (g -> lb:oz,
respectively ml -> fl’oz)
Switching weighing modes
Apart from standard weighing, this kitchen scale is able to automatically
display a conversion to the volume of milk or water.
If you wish to display the volume of milk or water, switch to the respective
mode by pressing the “MODE” button (WEIGHT-> MILK-> WATER).
Weighing procedure
- Turn the scale on by pressing the “ON/OFF ZERO” button.
- If necessary select the measuring units (metric or imperial) on the underside of the scale using the measuring units switch.
- Place the food that you wish to weigh in the weighing bowl.
- The weight will be displayed on the display in the selected units.
“ZERO” (ZEROING) or “TARE” FUNCTION
This function serves to gradually weight various ingredients without the need
to remove ingredients from the weighing bowl.
Place the first ingredient on the scale and subtract the weight. Before adding
further items press the ZERO button to reset the values on the LCD display to
“0”. You may repeat this operation.
Situation 1: “ZERO” (Zeroing) function
When the total sum of all items on the scale is ≤ 200 g:
Every time the “ON/OFF ZERO” button is pressed the LCD display will show ” —-
” or “0g”. ” —- ” means that the state is unstable, so please wait a while.
“0g” and the “o” icon in the bottom left corner of the LCD display means that
the “ZERO” (Zeroing) function is activated. Max. weighing capacity remains
unchanged.
Situation 2: “TARE” function
When the total sum of all items on the scale is > 200 g:
Every time the “ON/OFF ZERO” button is pressed the LCD display will show ” —–
” or “0g”. ” —– ” means that the state is unstable, so please wait a while.
“0g” and the “TARE” icon in the top left corner of the LCD display means that
the “TARE” function is activated. Max. weighing capacity is reduced by the
total weight of all the items.
In this situation:
By pressing the “ON/OFF ZERO” button you can display the total weight of all
items on the scale. If you wish to weight more items you only need to press
the “ON/OFF ZERO” button to repeatedly reset the values on the LCD display to
“0”.
OVERLOAD INDICATOR
If the scale is overloaded (max. capacity 5 kg), the display will show the
symbol “Err”. Remove the food from the scale immediately so as not to damage
the scale.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
If the display shows the dead battery “Lo” icon, it is time to change the
batteries.
- Remove the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the scale.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Insert two 1.5 V AAA size batteries into the battery compartment, while ensuring that you adhere to the correct polarity direction as indicated in the battery compartment.
Warning
- Do not place or leave any objects on the scale that may place unnecessary stress on the sensors.
- Strong magnetic fields may negatively influence the weighing precision. Do not use the scale in environments with strong magnetic fields.
- Never weigh ingredients on the scale without the bowl because liquids or fine powdery ingredients could enter inside the scale causing permanent damage.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the outer parts of the appliance, use a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm
water.
DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
This product comes with one alkaline battery. Do not place used batteries into
regular household waste. Instead, use the appropriate waste collection and
recycling centres.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the scale is displaying random values or if it is not turning off
automatically, you need to restart it. In such cases, remove the batteries for
about 10 seconds and place them back again. The scale should work normally
again.

dispose of this product at your applicable collection point for the recycling

your local retailer when buying an equivalent new product. The correct
disposal of this product will help save valuable natural resources and help in
preventing the potential negative impact on the environment and human health,
