A: Stop immediately if you feel resistance or hear irregular sounds. Open the grinder to remove any foreign objects that may be obstructing the burrs.

OVERVIEW

FEATURES

  • 4 CUPS
  • 25G CAPACITY

WARNINGS

  • This grinder is destined for the grinding of roasted coffee beans only. Any other use is at the user’s own risk, considered improper use and nullifies the manufacturers guarantee and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the coffee beans are dry and that no other material enters the hopper (for example: stones that may not have been removed during the roasting process).
  • When turning the adjusting ring (3), ensure there are no obstructions between the inner and outer burr (this includes coffee) as it may damage the blades.
  • Do not turn the handle (1) further when you feel that something hard is preventing the burrs from moving or if you hear an irregular sound when grinding. Should this happen, open the grinder and remove the foreign body from the burrs. The burrs of this grinder are made of stainless steel. If the grinder or burrs have been damaged, stop using the grinder immediately.

ASSEMBLING

After unboxing the parts:

  • The top (2) and handle (1) segment slots onto the hexagonal axis at the top of the grinder (5).
  • The grounds pot (6) screws onto the lower part of the grinder.

USING

  • Remove the handle (1) and lid (2).
  • Adjust the grind size to that needed by turning the top ring (3)on the body (5).
  • Pour into the top of the grinder (5) the required amount of beans (max 25g).
  • Replace the handle (1) and lid (2).
  • Turn the handle (1) clockwise until there is no longer any friction.
  • Unscrew the grounds pot (6).

Note : For more precision it’s recommended to weigh your coffee beans in the grounds pot and pour the beans into the top of the grinder – the top and bottom diameter of the grinder is identical to allow for this.

ADJUSTING

You can turn the top ring (3) of the grinder to adjust your ground using the indicator line (4) as an indicator of position. Lower number – finer grind. Turn clockwise when looking above for coarser, anticlockwise for finer.
Only adjust the grind size when the grinder is empty.
Note that there are over two full turns of the adjustment ring (3) for over 100 usable “clicks” of ground size.
Finding the right grind for the best result can be difficult, below are recommended ground “zones” per preparation method. However, you may need to adjust finer or coarser depending on the beans you are using and your taste. A (very) rough guide is coarser = sharper tase, finer = more bitter taste

CLEANING

  • To clean your grinder, you can use the small brush provided to remove any loose grounds stuck onto the burrs. For a deep clean, you can use a specialised grinder cleaning product to remove any coffee residues and coffee oils from the mechanism.
  • The inner burr can be removed for deeper cleaning by unscrewing the base plate (under the burrs) using a 2.5mm hex wrench. Note that it is best to do this with the grind setting to the middle (one full turn then position 0). The handle and top will need to be in place and held securely to allow for unscrewing and screwing.
  • Should more than the burr come off the axis during cleaning, the correct order for mounting from 1st on the axis to last on is: bearing, spring, burr, plate, screw. Check correct alignment of the base plate against the burr guide hole and central axis before tightening the screw
