WHAT’S IN THE PACKAGE
- 2x “L shaped” Base Rails [one male (Al), one female (A2)]
- 2x short padded elbow bars (B)
- 1x Crossbar (C)
- 2x Padded Grip Rail (D)
- 2x Collared Locking Pins (E)
- 1x Safety Strap (F)
ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Once installed, you won’t really have to worry about the Bed Rail much, as
it’s built to last in place for a long time.
So let’s get started installing it:
-
Fit the two (2) long Base Rails together by pushing in the pins on the short end of the male piece (Al) and inserting it (A2) intothe short end on the female piece until the pins click into place through the fitting holes. This will create the base for the Bed Rail that will fit under the mattress.
-
Insert the narrow ends of the short Elbow Rails (B) into the open ends of the Base Rails (A1), (A2) by pushing in the pins on each side and fitting them together until the pins click into place. The unpadded half of the Elbow Rails should now be curving up.
-
Slide the inner openings on the Crossbar (C) over the upturned ends of the two Elbow Rails (B) so it is sitting on the spring locking pins.
Push one set of pins in and move that side of the crossbar down to cover them. Repeat on the other side, pushing the entire Crossbar down until the pins on both sides pop into place. -
Slide the Padded Grip Rail (D) into the outer openings on the Crossbar (C) should now be curving up.
-
Line up the pin holes on the Support Rail (D) with the pin holes on the Crossbar (C), and lock the Rail into place by pushing the Collared Locking 0Pins (E) into the holes on each side. They should snap right over the Grip Rail and secure the Rail and the base together.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
-
Start with buckling the strap around the base of the bed rail and then pulling the strap fairly tight but it does not need to be overly tight so much so that the buckle could not lay flat under the mattress.
-
Grab the T-shaped piece and Thread the other end of the strap through the 2 holes, leading it towards the side with the buckle attached to the T-piece.
-
Place the T-piece in between the mattress and the boxspring and pull the strap tight so the bed rail is pulled tight against the mattress on the other side.
Then feed the strap through the buckle and pull tight again. Lock the buck down and tuck the remaining part of the strap out of the way so it does not become a tripping hazard.
WARNINGS
Bed Rail entrapment is possible with improper installation and improper follow up on the security of your bed rail. Please check the FDA’s entrapment guide here to learn
RISK OF ENTRAPMENT INCREASES GREATLY ALONG WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY/DEATH WHEN USING BED RAILS WITH A SOFT MATTRESS!! A soft mattress and or the use of air mattresses/mattress toppers increases the risk that a person’s arms, legs or head could become entrapped between the mattress and bed rail.
Using the Securing strap and T shaped piece as instructed above will be vital to keeping the bed rail secured against the mattress so that the possibility of entrapment decreases greatly. Do not use the bed rail without securing it properly and as instructed. Failure to use these components could result in injury or death.
