noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Cooling Fan

Specifications:

  • Model: Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM
  • MTTF Rating: 150,000 hours
  • Warranty: 6 years
  • Included Mounting Parts:
    • NA-RC16 Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.)
    • 4x NA-AV2 anti-vibration mounts
    • 4x fan screws

Installation:

  1. Caution: Remove the protective paper from the inside of the fan frame before use.
  2. The NF-A14x25r G2 PWM has a hole spacing of 105x105mm and is not suitable for standard 124.5×124.5mm hole spacing applications. Use NF-A14x25 G2 for those.
  3. For CPU cooler installation, use fan mounting clips supplied with the cooler. For other applications, use mounting screws or NA-AV2 anti-vibration mounts.
  4. If using NA-AV2 mounts, pull F side through fan’s mounting holes and then pull C side through device’s mounting holes. Cut long ends if necessary.

Connection:

  1. The NF-A14x25r G2 PWM comes with a 4-pin PWM fan connector for automatic speed control via motherboard’s 4-pin PWM fan headers. Can also be connected to 3-pin headers.
  2. When connected to 3-pin headers, the fan runs at full speed unless motherboard supports voltage-based speed control.
  3. For multiple fans, use supplied y-cable (NA-YC1) to connect several fans to one PWM fan header for synchronized speed control.
  4. The fan features a short 20cm primary cable to minimize cable clutter. Use the supplied 30cm extension (NA-EC1) for longer cable needs.

Installation

Caution:

  • Please remove the protective paper from the inside of the fan frame before use.
  • The round-frame NF-A14x25r G2 PWM features a hole spacing of 105x105mm.

Therefore, it is not suitable for applications that require the standard 124.5×124.5mm hole spacing of square-frame 140mm fans such as PC cases, water- cooling radiators or CPU coolers with fan clips for square-frame 140mm fans. Please choose the regular, square-frame NF-A14x25 G2 for these applications.

For installing the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM on a compatible CPU cooler such as the NH-D15, please use the fan mounting clips supplied with the cooler.

When installing the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM in other applications, you can either use the supplied mounting screws or NA-AV2 silicone anti-vibration mounts.

For installing the fan using the NA-AV2 mounts, please first pull the F side through the fan’s mounting holes and then pull the C side through the mounting holes of the device:

If the long ends of the mounts are in the way, you can use scissors to cut them after installation. Note that this will then make them difficult to reinstall in the future.

If you prefer anti-vibration mounts with flat case-side ends, please purchase the optional NA-AV4 mounts.

Connection

The NF-A14x25r G2 PWM comes with a 4-pin PWM fan connector for fully automatic speed control via your motherboard’s 4-pin PWM fan headers. Please note that the fan can also be connected to 3-pin fan headers though. When connected to 3-pin fan headers, the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM will run at full speed (unless the motherboard supports voltage based speed control).

If you’re using multiple NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, you can use the supplied y-cable (NA-YC1) to connect several fans to one PWM fan header. This way, your motherboard will set all the connected fans to run at the same speed.

The NF-A14x25r G2 PWM features a short 20cm primary cable in order to help you minimise cable clutter in typical applications. If you need a longer cable, please add the supplied 30cm extension (NA-EC1).

The NF-A14x25r G2 PWM comes with a Low-Noise Adaptor (NA-RC14) that allows you to reduce the fan speed from 1500 to 1250rpm. You can either use the adaptor to set the fan to a fixed speed of 1250rpm (if speed control is deactivated) or to cap the maximum speed to 1250rpm during PWM speed control.

Cleaning and maintenance

Fans inside computer cases tend to accumulate dust over longer periods of usage. In order to maintain maximum performance, please clean your fans regularly using a duster, slightly moist tissue or canned air. Please be careful not to use too much force in order to prevent any damage to the fan.

Please don’t use a vacuum cleaner as this may apply excessive force to the fan.

In order to ensure flawless operation over many years of usage, the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM’s premium grade SSO2 bearing is fully sealed to prevent the entering of fine dust particles.

Please note that the fan is not designed to be taken apart by the user. Removing the impeller from the frame will break the sealing of the bearing and results in a loss of warranty.

FAQ

Q: Can I use the NF-A14x25r G2 PWM in applications requiring square-frame 140mm fans?
A:
No, it is not suitable for such applications due to its hole spacing. Please choose the regular square-frame NF-A14x25 G2 instead.

Q: What should I do if the fan runs at full speed when connected to a 3-pin header?
The fan will run at full speed on 3-pin headers unless the motherboard supports voltage-based speed control. Consider using a PWM fan header for automatic speed control.

Q: How can I reduce cable clutter when using multiple NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans?
A:
You can use the included y-cable (NA-YC1) to connect multiple fans to one PWM fan header, ensuring synchronized speed control and minimizing cable clutter.
