Important Safety Instructions
Violation of the following safety precautions may lead to product failures or other unpredictable accidents.

Check whether the product and all fittings are complete according to the packing list.

• Pull out the pedal to its corresponding position before using the product.
• Set up the system time according to your location when you use the product for the first time.
• Do not push the safety door.
• When there is insufficient cat litter remaining, please refill the cat litter box in time.
• Do not use the tofu cat litter with a length exceeding 7mm.
• When there is litter clumping, please clean the cat litter box in time.
• Please inspect and clean the cat litter box regularly.
• Please use the original 12V 4A power adapter, and do not use adapters of other brands.
• For transportation, please press the power button to close the safety door, and then cut off the power.
• Please install and use the product in full accordance with the instructions stipulated in this manual.
• Please make sure that the weight of your cat exceeds 1.5kg (3.3 pounds) for maximum safety protection.
• This product is only for the indoor use. Do not expose the product to the direct sunlight for a long time, and keep it away from open flames.
• This product uses low currency for safety. However, pets that chew the power cable may still cause product damage, making it unable to receive power.
• Make sure that the bottom half part of the product is not soaked in the water.
• It is recommended to repair the product under the instructions of professional staff to avoid safety hazards.
• If you have to leave for a long period, please make sure that there is sufficient cat litter in the box, and that there is enough space in the trash box.

Set up Your Cat Litter Box

1. Please the device on flat and solid ground, and ensure that no objects are at the bottom. Do not place the device on soft, uneven or unstable ground.
2. Place the device near the power supply socket. Please do not push the device to the wall or the corner, and make sure that no other objects are on the top.

Tips to Let Your Cat Be Adaptive to the Self-cleaning Cat Litter Box
Here are some tips to help your cat be adaptive to the new litter box

1. Place the self-cleaning cat litter box in the same position as the old one, add some litter inside, and make sure that it is powered off. Leave one or two days for your cat to be familiar with the new cat litter box. If your cat is not interested in the new litter box, try to use some catnip or food it likes to attract your cat to get close to the cat litter box.
2. Add a scoop of cat litter from the old cat litter box to the new one, providing a familiar odor to your cat.
3. Place some food on the steps or surround the cat litter box, implying to your cat that the new litter box is associated with rewards.
4. Once you notice that your cat has been familiar with the new cat litter box, connect it to the power supply to carry out a litter refilling. It is encouraged to keep your cat near the device so that your cat can observe the refilling operation and be familiar with the sound of the cat litter box. At the same time, you can comfort your cat. Once the refilling is finished, power the cat litter off again. It is recommended not to clean your old cat litter box anymore.
5. If your cat no longer uses the old cat litter box for a few days, please continue to add some previously-used litter into the old one, and do not clean the old litter box as long as possible. Considering that cats love to use clean cat litter boxes, a dirty box may force your cat to use a clean one.

Later, your cat gets interested in using the new cat litter box, and no longer uses the old one. Congratulations! Now you and your cat can use the self- cleaning cat litter box.

Installation steps

1. Open the rear cabinet door to take out accessories.
2. Mount a garbage bag in the waste collecting bin.
3. Pull out the pedal to the corresponding position (the status indicator turns blue).
4. Cut off the safety seal or rubber band.
5. Connect the device to the power supply.
6. Press the power button to turn the device on.
7. When the safety door is automatically opened, mount the tents on both sides of the device.
8. Pour cat litter into the litter box.
9. Please note that the amount of cat litter to be added should be within the required range, and should not be too much or too little

Operation

Basic operation mode

Cleaning cycle

• When a cat stays in the cat litter box for over 6s and then leaves the box (the status indicator turns blue and then green when it is powered on), before cleaning, the device will wait for a while at first for clumping. This function provides enough time for cat litter to get clumped, thus making the litter clump easy to be clean.
• After clumping, the door will be closed so that the cat will not be able to enter the litter box during cleaning. A waste scoop will separate the clumped cat litter from clean ones, and then collect it into the waste collecting bin at the rear. The waste scoop will clean cat litter twice.

During the clumping period, if the cat enters into the box and stays for over 6s again, the countdown of cleaning will be reset.

UV sterilization mode
After two times of cleaning, the door will be opened, and the UV sterilization function will be triggered. During the sterilization period, when the device detects that the pet enters the litter box, the UV light will be turned off immediately.

Change of clumping and UV sterilization periods
You can change the clumping and UV sterilization periods on the app.
The default clumping period is 10min, which can be changed on the app. It is recommended that the period should be within 5-15min.

Device cleaning and maintenance

• Before any operation that affects the weight of the device, such as emptying the waste collecting bin, adding or removing cat litter, cleaning or moving the device, please turn the power off.
• When there is no sufficient cat litter, a notification will appear on the app. When you receive such a notification, please turn the power off and refill the cat litter.
• Please note that the amount of cat litter to be added should not exceed the maximum scale line.
• Once the modification is finished, it is required to reboot the device. The waste cleaning robot will carry out an initial cleaning cycle to re-calibrate sensors according to the new weight

Cat sensor system and protection mechanism

Accurate sensing
For accurate sensing, please ensure that the cat litter box is placed on a solid and flat ground. Do not place the device on soft, uneven or unstable ground.

Closing procedure of the safety door
During the closing of the safety door, the cat that tries to enter the cat litter= box will be detected by the device.
The safety door will be reopened, and the device enters the standby mode. When the cat leaves, the countdown will be resumed.

• Long press the right button until the hours flash, and long press the right button twice until the minutes flash.
• When the minutes or hours flash, press the left button to add the hours or minutes, and press the right button to decrease.

Download the app

• Scan the QR code to download and install. Search elspet on the App Store or Google Store.
• Connect your smartphone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Please note that the 5GHz band, and Wi-Fi in hotels, airports and other places that require additional authorization are not supported.
• Please note that space or other special characters in a Wi-Fi network’s name may affect the matching. You can check the utilization and the residual cat litter amount of the device on the app.
• Before changing the periods of clumping and UV sterilization, you should bind the device to the app.

Connecting process on the app

Place your cat litter box close to the router as much as possible, and connect your smartphone to a 2.4G Wi-Fi network.

1. Open the app and register an account.

2. Tap “Add a device”.

3. Select “Selfcleaning cat litter box”.

4. Type the Wi-Fi password. Please note that the device can only connects to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

5. Press the buttons on the device until it emits a “beep” sound and its indicator flashes.

6. Wait for the network connection.
   9 Change the periods of clumping or UV sterilization on the settings page.
   The connection will be completed within 1min. If the connection consumes over 1min, the network will be cut off automatically, and you have to disconnect and then reconnect the power supply, and connect the device to a network again.

7. When the connection is completed(the indicator is constantly on) , tap the self-cleaning cat litter box.

8. Enter the interface of the cat litter box.

9. Change the periods of clumping or UV sterilization on the settings page.

Component installation

1. Connect the device to the power supply, but do not turn the device on.
2. Install the bottom basin
3. Assemble the pedal according to the corresponding holes on it.
4. Press the buttons on both sides of the pedal to install it into the device.
5. Install the tents on both sides of the device.
6. Press the button to lift the waste scoop frame.
7. Press buckles on both sides of the waste scoop and install it into the frame properly.
8. Hang the anti-odor plate on the internal hooks
9. Mount a garbage bag in the waste collecting bin, and then put it into the device.

Cat litter box cleaning

Frequency of emptying the waste collecting bin

• The frequency depends on the number of cats and their sizes.
• In terms of two middle-sized cats, it is recommended to empty the collecting bin twice a week.
• In terms of one cat, it is feasible to empty it once a week.

Cleaning process
Before cleaning, please ensure that the device is powered off.

1. Press the power button to power the device off, and do not unplug the power supply.
2. Open the rear door to take the waste collecting bin out
3. Remove the anti-odor plate
4. Press to clean.
5. Wait for the waste scoop to be lifted.
6. Press the buckles on the waste scoop to remove it.
7. Press the fixing button to remove the pull-out pedal
8. Lift the pedal upward at first to remove it from the groove, and then pull out the bottom basin.

FAQ

• Q: Will my cat enter the cat litter box?
  A: Cats are usually curious, and willing to investigate any new objects. Those cats who care used to the cat litter box with a cover might investigate the new litter box faster than other cats.
  We recommend you to place the new cat litter box at the position near the old one for a while. Besides, you can take out a scoop of cat litter from the old cat litter box to the new clean litter. By doing so, the odor that your cat is familiar with will be provided, and your cat will be prone to enter the new litter box. Once your cat enters the new litter box and feels the litter under its claws, your cat will know what it should do.

• Q: Can a small cat use the cat litter box?
  A: We do not recommend small cats that weight less than 3.3 pounds to use the cat litter box, nor recommend your cat to use the litter box in the automatic mode under unattended operation. The low weight of small cats cannot trigger internal sensors. If you want your cat to use the cat litter box under unattended operation, the weight of your cat should be at least 5 pounds.

• Q: Do I need to prepare a special cat litter for this cat litter box?
  A: No. It only requires your cat litter to be able to get clumped. We recommend you to use high-quality clay-based clumping cat litter. Light-weight garbage, such as corn or wheat, might need more weight to trigger internal sensors. Do not use the tofu cat litter with a length exceeding 7mm.

• Q: How much garbage should I put in the garbage box?
  A: Fill around 5L of garbage in the box. Do not make the filled garbage exceeding the raised scale line above the bottom basin.

• Q: Why did the waste scoop stop for a while during its working?
  A: When the door detects a cat enters into the litter box, the device will stop its operation, the indicator flashes in red, and the device emits warning sounds for security.

• Q: How to clean the scoop?
  A: Press the power button, close the safety door, and then press the button of cleaning mode to lift the scoop.

• Q: Why the device does not start cleaning when my cat leaves the litter box?
  A: Do you set the clumping period on the app? For example, if you set a 10min period, after your cat leaves the litter box, the device will start cleaning 10min later, instead of cleaning immediately.

• Q: Why the device cannot be connected with Wi-Fi?
  A: Please refer to P14 of the manual, or scan the QR code to check the video tutorial. If the connection fails again, please contact our customer service personnel
