MAULtouch Letter Scale

Specifications:

Product Usage Instructions

Positioning the Scales:

Ensure that the scales is placed on a horizontal surface.

Weighing (ON):

  1. Switch on the scales using the ON/OFF/TARE key.
  2. Wait for “8888” to appear on the display and then wait for zero to be displayed.
  3. Place the item to be weighed on the scales and read the weight displayed.

Net Weighing (TARE) :

  1. Place an empty container on the scales to get the first weight.
  2. Press the ON/OFF/TARE key until zero appears to subtract the weight of the container.
  3. Add the items to be weighed in the container. The display will show only the additional weight.

Switch Off (OFF):

To switch off the scales, press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE key. The scales will automatically switch off after approximately 1.5 minutes if no weight change is detected.

Switching Weight Units:

The scales can display weight in g, lb, oz, or ml. Press the Unit key when the scales is on, and press it again to change the unit.

  • Q: What should I do if the weight indication is unstable?
    A: If “unSt” appears on the display, ensure that the scales is placed on a stable surface.

  • Q: How do I know if the batteries need to be changed?
    A: If “Lo” appears on the display, it indicates that the batteries need to be replaced.

  • Q: What does “EEEE” on the display mean?
    A: “EEEE” indicates overload, meaning the weight exceeds the total capacity of the scales.

Operating Instructions

  • Battery
    Three AAA batteries are included. The battery compartment is on the base of the scales. Please note polarity marking. Before using the scales remove the plastic protection.

  • Positioning the scales
    Please ensure that the scales is in a horizontal position.

  • Weighing (ON)
    After switching on the scales with the „ON/OFF/TARE“ key, „8888“ appears in the display. Please wait until zero appears. Then place the weight on to the scales and read off the weight.

  • Net weighing (TARE)
    Place an empty container (i.e. fi rst weight) on to the scales and then subtract this weight by pressing the „ON/OFF/TARE“ key until zero appears. Fill the container (i.e. add second weight to the scales). Only the additional weight is indicated in the display.

  • Switch off (OFF)
    Through repeated pushing and holding of the „ON/OFF/TARE“ key. Automatic switch-off will occur after approx. 1,5 minutes, if no change of weight occurs in this time.

Switching the weight units g, lb, oz or ml
The scales can show the weight value in g, lb, oz or ml. Press the „Unit” key when the scales is turned on. Press the key again to change the weighing unit.

Explanation of the special symbols

  1. Switching on
    After pressing the „ON/OFF/TARE“ key all symbols appear. You can check whether all segments are clearly shown on the display. Zero indicates that the scales are ready for operation.

  2. Negative value
    Press the „ON/OFF/TARE“ key once again.

  3. The indication of the weight is not stable
    If the display shows „unSt”, the scale is not placed on a steady surface.

  4. Overload
    If the weight exceeds the total weighing capacity of the scales, „EEEE“ appears in the display.

  5. Energy Supply
    If „Lo“ appears on the display, the batteries need to be changed.

This device corresponds to the requirements stipulated in the EC-directives 90 / 384 / EWG. Note: Extreme electromagnetic infl uences e.g. radio unit in the immediate vicinity may affect the displayed values. Once the interference has stopped, the product can once again be used normally. The scales is not legal for trade.

Precision

This device corresponds to requirements stipulated in 2014/31/EU. Every scale has been carefully calibrated and controlled during the production process. The tolerance is ± 0,5% ± 1 digit (at Temperatures between +5° and +35° C). Incorrect display values due to damage attributable to impropera handling, mechanical damage or malfunction is exempt from liability. Damages due to faults are also exempt from the guarantee. No liability is accepted for consequential damages or losses by the buyer or the user.
