Transfer from Bed to Bed
- Place EasyGlide under the hips and shoulders of the user.
- Use a draw sheet to facilitate the transfer.
- Ensure weight is centered on EasyGlide.
- Use a transfer slide between surfaces for smoother transfer.
- Clean the surface with warm water or soap solution. Disinfect with ethanol or isopropanol if needed.
EasyGlide, extra long is a sliding board that is used for supine transfers of
users from one bed or stretcher to another. EasyGlide, extra long is used when
the gap is max. 15 cm/5,9’’. For safety reasons, EasyGlide extra long should
have a firm underlying surface on both sides when transferring.
The rounded corners and the smooth, low-friction top surface provide for easy
sliding transfers and make the sliding board very easy to position and remove.
The double anti-slip tape on the underside prevents the board from sliding
against the underlying surface during transfer.
Check Safety
Visual inspection
Check the condition and function of the assistive device regularly. Check to
ensure that material is not worn or faded. If there are signs of wear, the
product must be discarded.
Stability test
Carefully bend the assistive device to check strength and durability. The
board should be both elastic and rigid. Discard the EasyGlide when its
strength and durability are diminished.

Important information
For the sake of safety, both underlying surfaces should be firm when transferring between bed and gurney. Do not leave the user unattended during a transfer situation.
Transfer from bed to bed
- EasyGlide is placed under the hips and shoulders.
- The user is turned on one side. A draw sheet can be used to facilitate the transfer. Guide the EasyGlide in under the user, between the bed sheet and the draw sheet. Press EasyGlide down into the mattress somewhat and push in.
- Ensure that the weight of the hips and shoulders is centred on EasyGlide.
- Transfer on transfer slide. Place the transfer slide between the two underlying surfaces. By using a draw sheet, the caregiver’s reach is extended, allowing a better working stance.
- Make sure the transfer slide is between the two underlying surfaces and that the gap between the beds does not exceed 15 cm/5,9”. Lean the user towards the transfer slide and pull the draw sheet to transfer the user.
- To remove, lean the user to one side and pull EasyGlide out.
