FAQ
- Q: How often should I charge the Zopec ExploreTM Mini for maintenance?
- A : It is recommended to fully charge the battery at least once every 6 months to prevent damage to the cells and maintain battery capacity.
BEFORE FIRST USE
-
Initial Charge/Battery Reset: Please charge the Zopec Explore™ Mini battery to FULL (all 4 LED lights are solid green) before first use and storage
-
When using the Zopec Explore™ Mini to power a Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) device please note the following:
Heated Humidifier and Heated Tube have an Impact on PAP Runtime- Longest Runtime: NOT using Heated Humidifier and Heated Tube.
- Shortest Runtime: Using Both Heated Humidifier and the Heated Tube will reduce the runtime by approximately 75 – 80%.
- Heated Humidifier: With the Heated Humidifier ON, the PAP runtime is reduced by about 50 – 60%.
- Heated Tube: We do not recommend running a Heated Tube because it will reduce PAP runtime by an additional 50 – 60%.
-
Instruction for Turning Off the Heated Humidifier and Heated Tube:
- ResMed AirSense 11 and AirSense 10: (When using non-heated tubing, the “ClimateControl” and “Tube Temp” settings will not be displayed. Only the “Humidity Level” setting will be visible)
- i. Go to “MyOptions” and change “ClimateControl” to “Manual”. NOTE: this must be done first. Otherwise, the automatic climate control will turn the heated humidifier and heated tube back ON without notice.
- ii. Next, turn “Humidity Level” and “Tube Temp” to “OFF”. If you don’t have a heated tube, just turn the “Humidity Level” to “OFF”.
- iii. Exit “MyOptions” and re-enter “MyOptions” to verify that “Climate Control” is in “Manual” and “Humidity Level” and “Tube Temp” are “OFF”.
- Philips Respironics DreamStation, detach the heated humidifier and plug the PAP hose directly to the back of the PAP Unit.
- All Other PAP Machines, detach the heated humidifier if possible and run only the PAP unit. Please visit our website, email or call us if you do not know how to turn off your heated humidifier and heated tube.
-
Maintenance: Fully charge the Zopec Explore™ Mini battery to FULL (all 4 LED lights are on) at least once every 6 months for maintenance. (NOTE: Failure to do this can damage the cells and permanently diminish the battery capacity and runtime).

INTENDED USE
- The Zopec Explore™ Mini battery system is designed to power everyday electronics and all major brand PAP devices no matter what voltage thanks to our patent-pending technology.
- The Explore Mini is a compact travel PAP battery designed to comply with FAA regulations (under 100Wh), allowing safe transportation and usage on planes or in locations where utility power is unavailable.
- Engineered to be used as a UPS to prevent PAP therapy interruption in the case of a power outage.
- Use the USB-C (PD 65W) port to power everyday electronics quickly and safely.
- The USB port (QC 3.0) can be used to charge cellphones, tablets and other frequently used handheld devices
CONNECTING YOUR EXPLORE™ MINI TO A PAP DEVICE
- Select the DC cable for your device. i.e. ResMed AirMini / AirSense 11 DC Cable. Insert the yellow round pin end of the DC Cable into the DC Output Port of your Zopec Explore™ Mini. Then connect the remaining other end to the power connector port of your PAP device. See diagram (B) below
UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS) FOR POWER OUTAGES
To use the Zopec Explore™ Mini as a UPS please connect the battery to your compatible PAP device setup. Next connect it to charge using one of the following options:
- The Zopec Explore™ USB-C Fast Charging Adapter (Model #: EMAUSBC) or an equivalent 65W USB-C charger. Note: the Heated Tube CANNOT be used in this configuration. (See diagram D)
- Your PAP device’s power cord and it’s compatible charging adapter cable.
- The ResMed AirSense 10 power cord will connect directly to the Explore Mini DC Output port.
- The AirMini and AirSense 11 will require the AirMini / AirSense 11 Charging Adapter to be connected to the original ResMed AirMini or AirSense 11 power cord and to the DC Output port of the Zopec Explore™ Mini. (See diagram C below
(Diagram C – Zopec Explore™ Mini connected to the ResMed AirSense 11 in UPS configuration with the AirSense 11 power cord and the ResMed AirMini / AirSense 11 Charging Adapter)
UPS IMPORTANT NOTES
- To set up this backup power mode, just keep the battery charging while running your machine.
- When there is no power outage, the battery will run the wall power through a Bypass (pass-through) increasing the battery’s lifespan and ensuring proper performance.
- When a power outage occurs, the battery senses the bypass has zero current flow and switches instantaneously to battery power. You would sleep through the power outage uninterrupted.
- Note : The Zopec Explore™ Mini cannot be used in UPS configuration with the ResMed AirMini 20W power cord due to it’s low Wattage. The ResMed AirMini 20W power cord can only be used to recharge the battery with the corresponding charging adapter.
- Note : To use the Zopec Explore™ Mini in the UPS configuration with the Zopec Explore™ USB-C Fast Charging Adapter, the Heated Tube MUST be OFF. Otherwise, your PAP device will start drawing power from the battery. If you see the battery starting to drain, then please turn the Heated Humidifier and Heated Tube OFF.
- This battery comes with all safety features including over current, over voltage, and over temp protection.
UNLIMITED LINKING TECHNOLOGY
- To get additional PAP device runtime, you can purchase multiple Zopec Explore™ Mini batteries and link them together increasing capacity. There is no limit on how many batteries you can link together.
- To link 2 batteries, use the included AirSense 10 Series & VAuto Cable. Plug the yellow tip of the cable into the DC Output port of the 1st battery and the other end of the cable into the DC Input port of the 2nd battery. Make sure both batteries are powered On. Repeat these steps to link more batteries. Please note that the PAP Device must plug into the first battery in the series.
- For backup power mode as USP, just have the last battery in the link charging (see section 6 for details)
Note : cannot be used to charge multiple connected batteries with the use
of the Zopec Explore™ USB-C Fast Charging Adapter.
Note: When drawing from multiple batteries, it doesn’t have a consistent
order on which battery it will draw first. That is normal. Every battery’s
internal resistance is different and your CPAP machine will draw power based
on the path of least resistance.

TROUBLESHOOTING
- Battery Will Not Charge or Would Not Hold Charge:
- Please press and hold the Battery ON/OFF switch for 20 seconds then try charging again. Go to next step if it still won’t charge.
- This is a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and sometimes it takes 2 – 3 depletion cycles to reset the battery. Please run your connected PAP device with all accessories such as the Heated Humidifier, Heated Tube until the it turns off. This depletes the battery. Please try charging again.
- Battery Runtime Not Lasting as Long: Please make sure to follow the instructions in this manual to turn off the heated humidifier and heated tube then try again. If you have a ResMed PAP Machine, most likely the automatic Climate Control has turned the heated humidifier and heated tube back ON. Please enter “MyOptions” and make sure the Climate Control is in “Manual” before turning the humidity level and tube temp to OFF, then try again.
Note: Your mask seal has a significant effect on the battery’s runtime when in use with a compatible PAP device. A poor mask seal will cause your PAP device to use more power and decrease your runtime. With unresolved problems, please contact your vendor or us for further assistance.
