The Flex Plus Refresh is a professional teleprompter system designed to assist with on-camera presentations by displaying scrolling text for the speaker to read while looking directly into the camera.

  • Q: How do I prevent light leaks in the teleprompter?
    • A: Tighten the Shroud around your Lens to prevent any light leak so that your display shows properly when Prompting.
  • Q: Can I use different cameras with the Flex Plus Refresh?
    • A: Yes, different cameras may require different setups. Smaller cameras may need additional Plus Blocks, while larger cameras can attach directly to the Lowboy.

Sled Setup

  • Flex Plus Flip Front Sled and Glass Assembly over. Use Protective Surface.
  • Add Tripod Adapter Plate (Not your Tripod Plate Your Tripod Plate is typically on your Tripod or in your Tripod Bag Pocket).
  • Tighten down the Tripod Adapter Plate once it is set at the right place. For Large Camera Setup See Large Camera Setup Tutorial Video on Prompter People YouTube Channel.
  • Add your Tripod Plate to the Tripod Adapter Plate using a Flathead Screwdriver or Quarter. Ensure your Tripod Plate is facing the Correct Direction with the Lens Marking Facing Forward.Prompter-People-Reg-400-NIT-PTZ-Camera-and-Robotic-Camera-Teleprompter-FIG-3.
  • Attach the Flex Plus to your Tripod Head. Refer to your Tripod Manual if there is a specific way to mount your Tripod plate, Prompter People Tripods Slide in from the Back.
  • Lock your Tripod so that the Flex Plus is Secure when mounted on to your Tripod.
  • Add the Back Sled to your Flex Plus Front Sled. You can use your Thumb

  • Unlock the Back Sled Latch to Attach the included Lowboy Attachment. You can also attach Counter Weights, see the Talent Monitor Setup.
  • Press Thumbdown on the Top Screw of the Lowboy to attach it to the Back Sled.
  • With your Thumb Pressed down slide the Lowboy into the Back Sled channel.
  • Relock the Back Sled Latch (Safety Latch) to ensure the Lowboy cannot slide off if the Teleprompter is tilted back or slid back.Prompter-People-Reg-400-NIT-PTZ-Camera-and-Robotic-Camera-Teleprompter-FIG-5
  • Attach your Plus Block. Different Cameras will need different setups. Smaller Cameras may need to stack both Plus Blocks. Larger Cameras may attach directly to the Lowboy and Regular size Cameras will mount with one Plus Block
  • Unlock the two Latches on each side, Lift Up the Flex Plus Hood out of the Catch Slots. It should not take more than a half turn to unlock.
  • Lift the Front Hood up and re-seat it into the Catch Slots to place it at 45° which is the correct angle for Prompting. Re-lock the angle brackets securely. Do not over-tighten the latches.
  • Pins for the Flex Plus front Hood seated Properly for a 45° angle lock.
  • Slide your Lens into the Teleprompter Shroud. Use the “Stint” support piece on the shroud and place it over the top of your Lens, and place your Camera while holding it onto the Plus Block Setup so that the Lens is Centered in your Glass.
  • Use the Thumbscrew on the Plus Block to securely attach your Camera to the Back Sled.Prompter-People-Reg-400-NIT-PTZ-Camera-and-Robotic-Camera-Teleprompter-FIG-7
  • Tighten the Shroud around your Lens to Prevent any Light Leak so that your display shows properly when Prompting
  • Attach your Tabgrabber to the Front Sled by first removing the two center nuts on the Tab Grabber and setting them to the side.
  • Add the TabGrabber Pro to the Front Sled by placing the two long screws through the slot on the front sled.
  • Reattach the Thumbscrews you placed to the side to securely hold the TabGrabber Pro onto the front sled.
  • Loosen the nuts holding the TabGrabber Pro Arms and extend out the TabGrabber Pro Arms to place your Tablet or iPad into the Cradle.
  • Add your Tablet or iPad, make sure it’s Centered with both the Lens and the Glass. Re-lock the Arms into Place to securely hold your Tablet or iPad into place while Prompting.
  • Monitor models typically come with the Monitor Attached. If you need to add a Monitor first use the included Allen Key to remove the Safety Catch Screw at the Front of the Sled, place it to the side. Slide the Monitor onto the Front Sled.
  • Lock the Monitor onto the Front Sled so that it is Centered in the Glass and Re-attach the Safety Catch Screw (Unless you are attaching a Talent Monitor).Prompter-People-Reg-400-NIT-PTZ-Camera-and-Robotic-Camera-Teleprompter-FIG-11
  • Attach your 4-Pin XLR Power Cable, and insert your HDMI, 3G-SDI, BNC, or VGA signal from your Computer to the Prompter. Monitors Auto-Reverse but you can use the Flip Button if you need to adjust the flip of your signal.

Freestanding Setup

  • Remove your Camera and Back Sled if you have the Sled Setup. If you have a Freestanding Base Model skip to the next Step.
  • Slide the Tripod Adapter Plate towards the Center of the Front Sled for Balancing. If you have the Notched VESA Plate flip it around for the Freestanding Setup (So the notch is facing towards the back).
  • Attach the Rapid Adapter (3/8” to Baby Pin 5/8”) to Mount the Flex Plus Front Sled onto the included Stand.
  • Attach the Flex Plus Front Sled onto the Stand. Tighten the Rapid Adapter so that it is securely mounted on to the included Stand with your Freestanding Kit.Prompter-People-Reg-400-NIT-PTZ-Camera-and-Robotic-Camera-Teleprompter-FIG-13
  • Slide your Monitor on to your Front Sled – Please See Tablet or Monitor Setup in the Sled Setup Section for instructions.
  • Lock your Monitor into Place. Notice the VESA 75/100 Monitor Mount has the notch facing towards the back for Freestanding Setup, this allows for easier balancing on the included Stand.
  • Slide your Camera on your Tripod into the shroud of the Front Flex Plus Sled mounted properly on to the included Stand in the Freestanding Kit.
  • Tighten the Shroud around your Lens to prevent any Light Leak. You can use the Stand adjustments to properly center the Lens in your Beamsplitter Glass.
  • Flex Plus Freestanding Model Properly Setup.

15MM Setup

  • Remove your Camera and Back Sled if you have the Sled Setup. If you have a 15MM Base Model skip to the next Step.
  • Attach the 15MM Plus Block to the Back Sled. you can use your thumb to place the Screw in to place for tightening. Using a flat head screwdriver tighten down the 15MM Plus Block.
  • Loosen the 15MM Plus Block so that you can slide your 15MM rails in to place correctly.
  • Slide your 15MM Rails in to Place. Properly place the Rails and your Camera Attachment so that the Camera will be positioned Properly when fully setup.

  • If Needed you can add a Plus Block. 12” – 15“
    • Models may need the 1.5” Plus Block. 17” – 19” – 24”
    • Models may need the 3” Plus Block.
  • Attach your Camera. If you are using the Plus Blocks attach it like in the Standard Sled Setup. If you are using your Own 15MM Risers refer to the manual with your Rails.
  • Tighten the Shroud around your Lens to prevent any Light Leak for occurring while Prompting.
  • Flex Plus 15MM Properly Setup without Plus Block.
  • Flex Plus 15MM Properly Setup with Plus Block.

Talent Monitor Setup

  • Using the included Allen Key remove the safety catch Screw and Add the Talent Bracket to your Front Sled.
  • Using a Flathead Screwdriver securely tighten down the Talent Bracket to the Front Sled.
  • Unlock the Back Sled Latch and Add 1 x 3.5 LB Counterweight.
  • Slide the counterweight into place. Using your Hand Twist the counterweight until it is securely held in place.
  • For Larger Models 2 x 3.5 LB or More counterweights can be used. Weights are stackable and modular.
  • Using the included Allen Key remove the safety catch Screw at the bottom of the Talent Bracket, place it to the side. Slide on your Talent Monitor (15.6, 18.5, 21.5 or 24” RGB-IPS Panel)
  • Slide the Talent Monitor up to your Desired Position on the Talent Bracket and Lock it in place. Replace the Safety Catch Screw and save the included Allen Key.
