FlowTrax FT-2 Flow, Volume Testing
IMPORTANT USE DISTILLED OR DEIONIZED WATER ONLY
8 A. Press FUNCTION then CLEAN GLASS soft key (Fig. 2). B. Gently pull
black tab at top of Glass Tube (Fig. 2) to remove from unit. C. Using cleaning
solution & brush provided, vigorously scrub inside entire length of each tube
minimum 30 times.
D. Rinse Glass Tube using Flush Bottle filled with approved fluid. E. Dry outside of Glass Tube. Re-install into FT-2. Press EXIT soft key.
- Open Occlusion Knob counterclockwise. Press FUNCTION key, than press FLUSH soft key. Run IV pump at 900 ml/hr, 20 ml volume to flush FT-2.
- Re-program IV pump to 600 ml/hr, 50 ml volume. Start pump. Press EXIT soft key after 5 ml. FT-2 will generate air bubble, Prime Required message disappears and flow values displayed when complete. Stop IV pump.
- Press RESET FLOW key to clear prior results. Unit ready for testing.
- Press UNITS to select desired pressure units of measure.
- Press RESET FLOW to zero the MAX pressure value.
- Program IV pump to desired rate and start IV pump.
- Electronic Occlusion: Press Function key, then 40 PSI Occlude key, peak pressure with graph displayed. Press EXIT to return to main screen.
- For manual occlusion test: Turn occlusion knob clockwise until the IV pump alarms or occlusion knob is flush with front panel. (Do not overtighten.)
Note: Zero Pressure is normally only needed at start of each day with FlowTrax void of fluid. See Op. Manual section Occlusion Testing for more information.
PRESSURE METER TESTING
- Press FUNCTION, then CLEAN GLASS key to drain water.
- Turn occlusion knob clockwise finger tight. (Do not overtighten).
- Press UNITS to select desired pressure units of measure.
- Press the ZERO key, then RESET FLOW key to zero MAX pressure. Connect device under test to Input Luer. Real time and Peak pressure will be measured.
