Materials:
- Mini Glass Jar
- Double-headed Needle Tool
- 5 Polymer Clay Blocks
- Jewels
PREP CLAY
Soften your clay by kneading it with your hands. We could do this for hours,
but it only takes a couple of minutes.
MAKE’ EM
Roll a portion of the green clay into a ball. Roll it into an oval shape until
it resembles a pickle.
ADD DETAILS
Take small amounts of green clay, roll it into balls, and add them to your
pickle shape to add texture. Use your double-headed needle tool to gently poke
holes into the surface of the pickle-shape. Take small amounts of black clay,
roll it into a ball, and add to your
pickles for eyes. Repeat this process with the pink clay for cheeks.
Add any other details you want, like pimples and dimples. Look at ours for
inspiration, or choose your own pickle personality. BAKE’ EM
That’s right: now it’s time to bake some pickles! Baking requires adult
supervision. Preheat your oven to 275°F and bake for 15 minutes on a baking
tray lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Remove from the oven and
allow to cool before moving them into their new pickle jar home. Place the jar
on your favorite table or shelf.
