Product Usage Instructions

  • Get Started:
    • With DIRIGERA hub:
    • Open the back of the sensor and insert an AAA/HR03 battery.
    • Download the IKEA Home smart app and follow the on-screen instructions.
    • Close the battery compartment and place the sensor where water presence needs to be monitored.
    • Without DIRIGERA hub:
    • Open the back of the sensor and insert an AAA/HR03 battery.
    • Close the battery compartment and place the sensor where water presence needs to be monitored.
    • The sensor is ready for use immediately.
    • Testing the Alarm:
    • We recommend testing the alarm by placing the sensor in a bowl with 1-2mm of water. Ensure only the metal prongs are submerged. The alarm will stop when the prongs dry out.
    • Adding More Sensors:
    • You can connect multiple sensors to the DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app. Follow the app instructions to add a new sensor.
    • Battery Care:
    • When the red LED indicator lights up three times, replace the AAA/HR03 battery. Use 1 x IKEA LADDA 750 (sold separately).
    • Care Instructions:
    • To clean, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Dry with another soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents.
    • Safety Instructions:
    • This product is for indoor use only. Follow battery safety guidelines. Dispose of used batteries properly. Read and save the safety instructions for future reference.

Get started

BADRING water sensor detects the presence of water in indoor environments and sounds an alarm. It can be used with the DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app to notify you of a water leak, even if you are away from home.

Get started with DIRIGERA hub

  1. Open the back of the sensor and insert an AAA/HR03 battery.
  2. Download the IKEA Home smart app and follow the instructions on your screen.
  3. Close the battery compartment and place the sensor wherever you want to monitor the presence of water.

Get started without DIRIGERA hub

  1. Open the back of the sensor and insert an AAA/HR03 battery.
  2. Close the battery compartment and place the sensor wherever you want to monitor the presence of water.
  3. The sensor is ready to use straight away.

Get to know your product

  • You can use the sensor in damp locations, like bathrooms, laundry rooms, or basements.
  • The sensor has two metal prongs underneath and will sound an alarm when both prongs come into contact with water.
  • The sensor has silicon feet to prevent it from moving around so there is no need to use double-sided tape or any other adhesive that may obstruct the flow of water.

Testing the alarm

  • We recommend testing the alarm to familiarize yourself with the way it sounds.
  • Place the sensor with metal prongs facing down in a bowl filled with 1-2 mm of water.
  • Note! The sensor’s casing is not waterproof, make sure only metal prongs are submerged.
  • The alarm will stop when the metal prongs underneath the sensor dry out.

Adding more sensors

  • You can connect as many sensors as you like to the
  • DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app.

Battery care

  • When it’s time to replace the battery, a red LED indicator will light up three times on the sensor, and in the IKEA Home smart app you will be notified when the battery is low.

Changing the battery

  • Open the back of the sensor, insert a new AAA/HR03 battery, and close it again.
  • Please note the safety information in this document concerning battery usage and disposal.
  • We recommend using 1 x IKEA LADDA 750
  • (AAA/HR03, 1.2V, 750mAh, Ni-MH). Sold separately.

Factory reset

  • Press the pairing button 4 times within 5 seconds.

Care instructions

  • To clean the product, wipe with a soft cloth moistened with a little mild detergent. Use another soft dry cloth to wipe it dry.
  • Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents since this can damage the product.
