This information is provided to enable you to get the best from your appliance; please read it carefully and always comply with its recommendations. During connection, use, and servicing of the appliance, take all possible precautions to protect your safety and that of the people in the immediate vicinity. Read the safety regulations carefully and comply with them on all occasions; failure to do so may put health and safety at risk or cause expensive damage.

Comply with the instructions provided by the safety signs fitted to the appliance. The appliance and manual only feature the symbols relevant to the model purchased. Check that the symbols and signs affixed to the appliance are always present and legible; otherwise, fit replacements in the original positions.\

  • Warning. DO NOT allow children of less than 8 years of age to use the appliance. To use the appliance, children over 8 years of age must be instructed in its use and supervised during use by adults fully informed about the correct use of the appliance and the relative risks.
  • Warning. Children MUST NOT play with the appliance. Supervise children to ensure that this does not occur.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by unsupervised children.
  • Keep the packaging film out of reach of children. Suffocation hazard!
  • This appliance is not intended for use by children, persons with impaired physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or persons without the necessary experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised for their safety by an authorized person, or have received instructions from the latter on how to use the appliance and the relative risks.

    • These substances may also corrode the materials from which the appliance is made.
  • Switch off the appliance after each use and before all cleaning/maintenance.
  • Fire hazard. Never suck up burning or red-hot materials.
  • Use in environments with an explosion hazard is forbidden.
  • Warning. NEVER use the appliance outdoors in the rain.
  • Warning. DO NOT touch the plug and/or socket with wet hands.
  • Warning. NEVER use the appliance if the power cable is damaged. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, one of its authorized Service Centres or similarly qualified persons to avoid a safety hazard.
  • Warning. Check that the appliance is fitted with its data plate; contact your dealer if it is missing. Appliances without data plates must NOT be used, since they cannot be identified and are potentially hazardous.
  • Warning. NEVER move the appliance by pulling on the POWER CABLE.
  • Warning. The use of non-original accessories and any other accessories not specifically intended for the model in question is prohibited. All modifications to the appliance are prohibited. Any modifications made to the appliance shall render the Declaration of Conformity null and void and relieve the manufacturer of all liability under civil and criminal law.

  • Warning. All electrical conductors MUST BE PROTECTED jets or splashes of water.
  • Warning. The electric supply connection must be made by a qualified electrician and comply with IEC 60364-1. Either a residual current device that will cut off the power supply if the leakage current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 30 ms or a ground fault interrupt device must be installed.
  • Warning. DURING start-up, the appliance may generate interference on the electrical system.
  • Warning. The use of a residual current breaker (RCB) will provide additional protection for the operator (30 mA).
  • Warning. Use only approved electrical extension leads with suitable conductor cross-sections.
  • Warning. Always turn off the switch when leaving the appliance unattended.
  • Warning. The airflow may cause parts to rebound: wear all the protective clothing and equipment (PPE) needed to ensure the operator’s safety.
  • Warning. Before carrying out any work on the appliance, REMOVE the plug.
  • Warning. Maintenance and/or repair of electrical components MUST be carried out by qualified staff.
  • Warning. Before each use, and periodically, CHECK that screws are tight and all appliance components are in good condition; inspect for broken or worn parts.
  • Warning. To ensure the appliance’s safety, only use the manufacturer’s genuine parts, or other parts which carry its approval.
  • Warning. Unsuitable extension cables can be dangerous. If an extension cable is used, it must be suitable for outdoor use, and the connection must be kept dry and off the ground. The use of a power cable reel that keeps the socket at least 60 mm above the ground is strongly recommended.
  • Warning. Switch the appliance off and disconnect it from the power source before any assembly, maintenance, storage, and transport operations.

Use of the manual
This manual forms an integral part of the appliance and should be kept for future reference. Please read it carefully before installing/using the unit. If the appliance is sold, the seller must pass on this manual to the new owner along with the appliance.

The appliance is delivered partially assembled in a cardboard box. The supply package is illustrated in Fig. 1.

Disposing of packaging

  • The packaging materials are not environmental pollutants but must still be recycled or disposed of in compliance with the relevant legislation in the country of use.

  • The appliance is intended for use as a multi-purpose vacuum cleaner, in compliance with the descriptions and safety precautions contained in these instructions.
  • This appliance is designed for household use only and must not be utilized for industrial or commercial purposes.
  • The appliance conforms to the IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-2 standards.

Safety devices

  • Starter device (A1)
  • The starter device prevents accidental use of the appliance.
  • Overload cutout: stops the appliance in case of overload.

INSTALLATION

Warning – danger! All installation and assembly operations must be performed with the appliance disconnected from the main power supply. The assembly sequence is illustrated.

Assembly

  • When unpacking, check for any missing accessories or damage to the contents. If damage caused in transit is found, notify your dealer at once.
  • Lift the cover with the motor (A10) off the appliance, release the catches (A6), and take out the accessories supplied, checking that the filters (B2 – B10) are fitted correctly. See fig. 2
  • The assembly sequence is illustrated.

Fitting the castor wheels

  • Turn the vacuum cleaner tank (A9), with the cover off, upside down on a firm horizontal surface. Fit the wheel hubs (A8) into the holes provided and press fully down to secure the wheels in the correct position. See fig. 3

Fitting the accessories

  • Connect the hose (B3) to the intake (A2) or the blower outlet (A3) depending on the type of operation required. See fig. 4

(For models with this feature).

  • Then complete the sequence with the accessories required for the type of cleaning job planned. Use the tubes (B5) and the nozzles(B6-B7-B8-B9) depending on the type of cleaning and the surface to be cleaned. The nozzles (B6-B7-B8-B9) can be fitted straight onto the hose (B3). See fig. 5

Electrical connection

Warning – danger! Check that the electricity supply voltage and frequency (V/Hz) correspond to those specified on the data plate See fig.6

Use of extension cables

  • Use cables and plugs with an “IPX4” protection level.
  • The cross-section of the extension cable should be proportionate to its length; the longer it is, the greater its cross-section should be.

Power tool socket (where featured)

  • Connect the hose (B3) to the power tool’s suction socket.
  • Operate the power tool using the additional socket (C1) (For models with this feature) See fig. 7

INFORMATION ON USE OF THE APPLIANCE

Controls Starter device (A1). See fig. 8.

  • Set the starter device switch on (ON/I).
  • If there is a pilot light on the starter device, it should light up.
  • Set the starter device switch on (OFF/0) to stop the appliance.
  • If there is a pilot light on the starter device, it should go out.
  • Warning – danger! During operation, the appliance must be positioned as shown on a firm, stable surface. See fig. 8.

Start-up

  • Dry suction. See fig. 9.
  • Only work with the filters (B2 – B10) dry! Before using them, check the filters for damage and replace them if necessary.
  • To suck up dry dirt, adjust the floor nozzle as appropriate and fit the corresponding accessories (Use the brush B6a).
  • When sucking up dry dirt, if necessary an additional filter bag, which may be in fabric (B10) or in paper (optional), may be used.

Filter bag guidelines

  • The level to which the filter bag is filled depends on the type of dirt being collected.
  • For fine dust, sand, etc., replace the filter bag often.
  • A worn filter bag may burst, so it should be replaced in good time!
  • Warning – danger! Cold ash must only be sucked in using a pre-separator.

Sucking in liquids See fig.10.

Warning – danger!

  • If foam forms or liquid overflows, switch the appliance off at once or disconnect the mains plug! Do not use a filter bag (either paper or fabric)!

Warning

  • When the tank is full, a float switch shuts off the suction inlet and the motor starts to race. Switch the appliance off at once and empty the tank.
  • To suck up damp or dry dirt, adjust the floor nozzle as appropriate and fit the corresponding accessories (Use the brush B6b).

Working with power tools. See Fig 11.

  • The assembly sequence is illustrated in Fig. 11.
  • For appliances with integral power sockets: connect the power tool plug to the socket on the appliance.
  • Switch on the appliance (master switch turned L to ) and start working.
  • Warning: as soon as the power tool switches on, the suction fan starts up after a 0.5-second delay.
  • When the power tool is switched off, the suction fan keeps running for about a further 6 seconds to suck up the dirt left in the suction hose.

Blower function. See Fig 12.

  • For cleaning inaccessible points or where suction is not possible, such as removing leaves from gravel.
  • Fit the suction hose to the connection provided. The blower function is now active.
  • For more effective blowing, the use of the nozzle B8 is recommended.

Stopping operation (Pauses)

  • Switch off the appliance. See Fig. 8.
  • Connect the floor nozzle in the stowed position.

Finishing work

  • Switch off the appliance. See Fig. 8.
  • Disconnect the plug.

Empty the tank

  • For dry dirt and dust: remove the nozzle from the appliance and empty the tank. See Fig 13.
  • For liquids: use the drain screw. See Fig 14.

MAINTENANCE

Warning – danger! All installation and assembly operations must be performed with the appliance disconnected from the main power supply. The assembly sequence is illustrated. Always switch the appliance off and disconnect the plug before any servicing or maintenance work. Repairs and work on electrical systems may only be carried out by authorized customer service.

Warning – danger! Never use abrasive detergents, glass detergents, or universal detergents! Never immerse the cover of the appliance (A1) in water. Clean the appliance and plastic accessories with a standard synthetic material detergent. Rinse the tank and accessories with water if necessary and dry them before reuse.

Cleaning the filter See Fig 15.

  • Open the vacuum cleaner by releasing the catches (A6). Turn the cover of the appliance (A1) upside down and remove the filters B1 and B2.
  • Rinse carefully under running water and leave to dry. Do not reassemble until dry.

Cleaning the fabric filter See Fig 16.

  • Open the vacuum cleaner by releasing the catches (A6). Remove the filter B10. Empty the filter, rinse carefully under running water, and leave to dry. Do not reassemble until dry.

Replacing the paper filter (optional) See Fig 17.

  • Open the vacuum cleaner by releasing the catches (A6). Remove the full filter, throw it away, and fit a new one.

END-OF-SEASON STORAGE

Warning – danger!

  • All installation and assembly operations must be performed with the appliance disconnected from the main power supply.
  • After finishing work, clean the appliance and then put it and the accessories away as shown in Fig. 18.
  • Store the appliance in a dry place.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the motor stops and does not restart during operation, wait 2-3 minutes before repeating the start-up procedure (Overload cutout has been tripped). If the problem recurs more than once, contact your nearest Authorised Service Centre.

The warranty does not cover components subject to normal wear and tear (valve, piston, water gasket, oil gasket, springs, O-rings, accessories such as the hose, gun, brushes, wheels, etc.);
The warranty does not cover defects caused by or arising from:

  • improper use, misuse, negligence,
  • professional use or hire, if the product was sold for domestic use,
  • failure to comply with the maintenance instructions provided in this manual,
  • repair by unauthorized staff or centers,
  • use of non-genuine parts or accessories,
  • damage caused by transport, dirt or foreign bodies, accidents,
  • storage or warehousing problems.
