TractionBars 2011-2016 Ford Super Duty Ladder Bar
Tools Needed
Handheld drill, 3/8” drill bit, 1/2” drill bit, 15/16 wrench, 3/4 wrench, 15/16 socket , 13mm socket
Step 1: Before beginning installation, read instructions completely.
Step 2 : Park the vehicle on a level concrete surface.
Step 3: Block the front wheels of the vehicle to prevent movement in
either direction.
Step 4: Locate the rear axle mounts. Doing one side and then the other
remove the u bolt nuts and install the axle brackets with the mounting tabs
offset towards the inside of the truck
Step 5: Install the bushings and sleeves into the ladder bars at this
time.
Step 6: Install the axle end of the ladder bars into the axle mounts. Use
the 5/8 bolts and nuts to secure the bar into the bracket
(NOTE on 11-16 models the gas tank skid plate is removed at this time. It
is held on by (6) bolts. Using your 13mm socket, remove the skid plate and
discard it.)
Step 7: Install the frame brackets onto the ladder bars with the offset
toward the rear of the truck.
Step 8: Swing the assembly up to the frame and mark the holes to be
drilled on the side and on the bottom of the frame. Use a 3/8 drill bit to
start the holes and then drill them out to 1/2”.
Step 9: Install frame brackets with the 1/2” hardware and tighten ALL
hardware at this time.
Congratulations, you have successfully installed your new products. We recommend rechecking the hardware after the vehicle has been driven 100 miles.
