Product Usage Instructions

Installation

  1. Ensure the electrical supply is turned off at the circuit breaker before starting installation.
  2. Thread the luminaire onto the junction box or mounting device in the desired direction using thread sealant. Tighten the jam nut provided to secure the luminaire in place.
  3. Connect the luminaire leads to the line leads following polarity (black to black, white to white, green to ground) using silicone-filled safety connectors.
  4. Attach the junction box cover with the luminaire to the junction box, ensuring the wires are not pinched.
  5. Coat exposed luminaire threads with thread sealant to prevent moisture entry.
  6. To adjust the aiming angle, loosen the adjustable knuckle screw, hold the luminaire at the selected angle, and tighten the knuckle screw firmly.
  7. Install the lamp, coat exposed screws with silicone grease, supply power, and check for proper operation.

Maintenance

Regularly clean the lens to prevent overheating and ensure efficiency. Keep the luminaire free from dirt, dust, leaves, and mineral deposits.

Safety Precautions

  • Avoid placing the luminaire where small children can reach if using high-wattage lamps.
  • Use UL-recognized wire connectors for connections.
  • Always turn off/unplug and allow cooling before replacing lamps.
  • Avoid touching hot surfaces like lenses, guards, or enclosures.
  • Handle lamps with care using a soft cloth or plastic wrapping to prevent damage from skin oils.
  • Do not operate with missing or damaged covers.

LED Lamp Installation/Replacement

  1. Disconnect from the electrical supply before service.
  2. Loosen the screw from the shroud and remove it along with the gasket to expose the lamp.
  3. Replace the lamp with the correct wattage and type indicated on the fixture label.
  4. Use a soft cloth or plastic wrapping to handle the lamp. Do not touch it with bare hands.
  5. Reinstall the shroud and gasket, and tighten the shroud screws securely.

Q: Can I install this luminaire below grade?

A: No, this luminaire is UL-listed for above-grade installation only.

Q: What should I do if the luminaire becomes too hot to touch?

A: Allow it to cool down before handling. Avoid contact with hot surfaces.

  • WARNING: Luminaire must be installed and grounded under the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.
  • For portable stake or surface mount using a cord and plug, the luminaire must be plugged into a receptacle protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFI). Failure to do so may result in serious injury and/or damage to the luminaire.
  • MAINTENANCE: To assure proper operation and efficiency and to prevent luminaire overheating, the lens must be kept clean and free of dirt, dust, leaves, trash, and mineral deposits from water.
  • A regular schedule maintenance program is recommended.
  • SAFETY WARNING: Luminaire can become hot depending on lamp wattage. The lens and housing around the lamp can become hot enough to blister hands.
  • Particular care should be taken not to locate luminaires where small children can reach them if high-wattage lamps are used.
  • NOTE: Always use UL-recognized wire connectors for connections.
  • LUMINAIRE IS UL LISTED FOR ABOVE-GRADE INSTALLATION ONLY.

LUMINAIRE MOUNTING

  1. Make sure the electrical supply is off at the circuit breaker before starting luminaire installation or servicing the luminaire.
  2. Thread luminaire onto junction box or other mounting device until it is at desired direction using thread sealant. Tighten the jam nut (provided) to ensure the luminaire is locked to the adjusted position.
  3. Attach luminaire leads to line in leads observing polarity, black to black, white to white, and green to ground using silicone-filled safety connectors (provided).
  4. Attach junction box cover with luminaire to junction box (by others). Make sure not to pinch wires that may be sandwiched between the cover and box.
  5. Coat exposed luminaire threads with thread sealant to keep moisture from entering the junction box or other mounting device.
  6. To adjust the luminaire aiming angle, loosen the adjustable knuckle screw. Do not disengage totally. Hold the luminaire at a selected angle and tighten the knuckle screw firmly.
  7. Install lamp.
  8. Coat all exposed screws with silicone grease.
  9. Supply power to the luminaire and check for proper operation.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, OR INJURY TO PERSONS

  1. Turn off/unplug it and allow it to cool before replacing the lamp.
  2. Lamps get hot quickly! Contact only switch/plug when turning on.
  3. Do not touch the hot lens, guard, or enclosure.
  4. Keep the lamp away from material that may burn.
  5. Do not touch the lamp at any time. Use a soft cloth. Oil from the skin may damage the lamp.
  6. Do not operate the luminaire fitting with a missing or damaged cover.

LED LAMP INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

CAUTION: Do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the luminaire label.

  1. To prevent electrical shock, disconnect from the electrical supply before service.
  2. Loosen the screw from the shroud.
  3. Remove the shroud and gasket to expose the lamp.
  4. Replace the lamp with the correct wattage and type marked on the fixture label.
    • NOTE: DO NOT touch the lamp with bare hands. Always use a soft cloth or plastic wrapping (if available) to handle the lamp.
  5. Re-install the shroud and gasket and tighten the shroud screws.
