FLAGSTARS 3125 American Flagpole Kit Installation Guide

  1. Prepare the Ground Sleeve:
    • Choose a suitable location for your flagpole, away from power lines and with enough space for the flag to fly freely.
    • Dig a hole approximately 12 inches in diameter and 24 inches deep.
    • Insert the ground sleeve into the hole and ensure it is level. You may need to fill around the sleeve with gravel for drainage.
    • Pour concrete around the ground sleeve and allow it to set according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 24 hours).
  2. Assemble the Flagpole:
    • Lay out the five sections of the flagpole on a flat surface.
    • Start by connecting the sections, ensuring each section is securely fitted into the next. The pole sections should taper, with the smallest diameter at the top.
    • Once all sections are connected, ensure the joints are tight and there are no gaps.
  3. Attach the Finial:
    • Screw the gold ball finial onto the top section of the flagpole. Ensure it is securely tightened.
  4. Attach the Halyard:
    • Thread the halyard rope through the pulley at the top of the flagpole.
    • Tie the ends of the halyard rope together to create a loop.
  5. Mount the Cleat:
    • Determine the appropriate height for the cleat on the flagpole, usually about 5 feet above the ground.
    • Use the screws and screwdriver to securely attach the cleat to the flagpole.
  6. Attach the Snap Hooks:
    • Attach two snap hooks to the halyard rope. The snap hooks should be spaced to fit the grommets on the flag.
    • Attach the flag to the snap hooks.
  7. Raise the Flagpole:
    • Carefully lift the assembled flagpole and insert it into the ground sleeve.
    • Ensure the flagpole is vertical and stable. You may need assistance to raise and secure the pole safely.
  8. Raise the Flag:
    • Use the halyard rope to raise the flag to the top of the flagpole.
    • Secure the halyard rope by wrapping it around the cleat in a figure-eight pattern.
  9. Final Adjustments:
    • Check that the flagpole is secure and the flag is flying freely.
    • Make any necessary adjustments to the cleat, snap hooks, or halyard rope.
