Safety Precautions
Thank you for selecting this CASIO product.
- Before using the instrument, be sure to carefully read through the instructions contained in this leaflet.
- Please keep all information for future reference.
DANGER: Indicates something that creates a major risk of death or serious personal injury.
WARNING: Indicates something that creates a risk of death or serious personal injury.
CAUTION: Indicates something that creates a risk of minor personal injury or physical damage.
Symbol Examples
- This triangle symbol (/) means that the user should be careful. (The example at left indicates electrical shock caution.)
- This circle with a line through it (-) means that the indicated action must not be performed. Indications within or nearby this symbol are specifically prohibited. (The example at left indicates that disassembly is prohibited.)
- The black dot (0) means that the indicated action must be performed. Indications within this symbol are actions that are specifically instructed to be performed. (The example at left indicates that the power plug must be unplugged from the electrical socket.)
Battery Precautions
-
Do not allow a battery to come into contact with fresh water, salt water, or other moisture. Do not use a battery that is wet. Doing so creates the risk of battery overheating, fire, and rupture.

Observe the precautions below in order to avoid battery overheating, fire, and rupture.
- Do not expose a battery to fire or heat.
- Load a battery with its poles (plus (+) and minus (-)) facing correctly.
- Do not carry or store a battery together with necklaces, coins, or other metal objects.
- Do not try to disassemble or modify a battery, pierce it with a needle, subject it to strong impact (by stepping on it etc.), or apply solder directly to it.
- Do not peel the external decorative sticker from a battery.
- Do not put a battery into a microwave oven, dryer, high-pressure vessel, etc.
- Always use only the specified type of battery.

Immediately after noticing any fluid leak, abnormal odor, overheating, discoloration, deformation or other battery abnormality, very carefully remove the battery from the product and/or charger. Keep the removed battery away from fire.
Do not use a battery exhibiting any abnormality.
Continued use creates the risk of battery overheating, fire, and rupture. -
Do not use or leave a battery in a location exposed to direct sunlight, in an automobile parked outside, near open flame, a stove, or in any location subjected to high heat.
Such conditions create the risk of battery overheating, fire, and rupture. -
Should fluid from a battery get on your skin or clothing, immediately rinse it off with clean water.
Fluid creates the risk of skin irritation.
Battery fluid getting into the eyes creates the risk of eyesight loss, etc.
Immediately rinse the eyes and then contact a physician. -
Use only the specified charger to charge the rechargeable nickel metal hydride batteries.
Using a non-specified charger creates the risk of abnormal charging, overheating, fire, and explosion. -
Do not use rechargeable nickel metal hydride batteries that do not finish charging even if charged for longer than the normal specified time.
This could indicate that the batteries have deteriorated and cannot perform as expected, which creates the risk of overheating, fire, and explosion. -
Use a set of fully charged nickel-metal hydride batteries. Make sure that each of the batteries in a set is fully charged as soon as possible before or after the other batteries are charged.
Using batteries that have been charged at different times can cause premature deterioration and creates the risk of overheating, fire, and explosion.
AC Adaptor and Power Cord

To prevent fire and electric shock from the AC adaptor and power cord, be sure to observe the precautions below.
- Use only the specified type of AC adaptor.
- Use only the included power cord.
- Use the AC adaptor only with the device specified for it.
- Use the included power cord with this product only.
- Do not plug the power cord into an outlet with the wrong voltage rating.
- Do not plug into an overloaded extension cord or power outlet.
- Do not cover the power cord with a blanket or other material during use, and keep it away from heating devices.
- Do not place heavy objects on the power cord and do not leave it bundled during use.
- Do not subject a power cord to heat or attempt to modify it, and avoid damaging it.
- Do not subject the power cord to excessive bending, twisting, or pulling.
- Make sure the power cord is not pinched between the wall and the rack or table where the product is located, and never cover the power cord with a cushion or other object.
- Should the AC adaptor or power cord become damaged, contact a CASIO Service Center.
- Do not touch the plug with wet hands.

When leaving the product unattended, unplug the AC adaptor and put the product in a place that is away from animals and pets.
Pets chewing on the AC adaptor or pet urine can cause shorting, which creates the risk of fire. -
In the case of a lightning storm, do not touch the device plugged into the power outlet.

Lightning creates the risk of electric shock.
Storage and Operation Locations
-
Do not store or use the product in any of the locations described below.
Doing so creates the risk of fire and electric shock.- Areas subjected to large amounts of moisture and dust
- Food preparation areas, near a humidifier, or in areas where the product is exposed to oil smoke or water vapor
- Near a heating device, on an electric carpet, in a location exposed to direct sunlight, in a car parked outside, or any other area where the product is subjected to high temperatures.

Do not locate the product on an unsteady platform, on an uneven surface, or in any other unstable location.
Take care to avoid locations such as folded carpeting, on top of the power cord, etc.
Be sure to secure the product to the stand using screws. -
Do not place heavy objects on the product.
Dropping and tipping over create the risk of personal injury.
Do not climb up on the product and stand. (Stand is available as an option.)
- Do not climb up on the product or rock it back and forth. Particular care is required in areas where young children are present.
Doing so creates the risk of the stand falling over.
Abnormalities (Smoke, Odor, Heat Generation, etc.)

Do not use the product if it is emitting smoke, odor, heat, or exhibiting any other abnormality. Do not use the product after it has been dropped or otherwise damaged.
Doing so creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Immediately perform the steps below.- Turn off power.
- If you are using an AC adaptor, unplug its power plug from the power outlet.
- Contact your original retailer or a CASIO Service Center.
Display Screen (Screen-equipped models only)
- Do not press the LCD or subject it to strong impact. Doing so can cause the LCD glass to crack, creating the risk of personal injury.
- Should the LCD become cracked, never touch any of the liquid inside.
LCD liquid getting on the skin creates the risk of skin irritation. Should LCD liquid get into your mouth, immediately rinse your mouth out and contact your physician.
Should LCD liquid get in your eyes or on your skin, rinse with clean water and then contact your physician.
Disassembly and Modification
Do not attempt any disassembly or modification.
For any internal inspection, adjustment, or repair, contact your original
retailer or a CASIO Service Center.
Doing so creates the risk of electric shock, burn injury, and personal injury.
Suffocation and Choking Risks
- Do not allow anyone to play with the plastic bags used for product packaging.
Plastic bags create the risk of suffocation when placed over the head, when swallowed, etc.
Particular care is required in areas where young children are present.
Avoiding Water and Foreign Matter

Do not allow water, other liquids (sports drinks, seawater, animal or pet urine, etc.), or foreign objects (metal fragments, etc.) to get into the product or the AC adaptor. Should any such matter get into the product, immediately perform the steps below.
Continued use creates the risk of fire and electric shock.- Turn off power.
- If you are using an AC adaptor, unplug its power plug from the power outlet.
- Contact your original retailer or a CASIO Service Center.

Do not locate any of the items listed below on top of or next to the product, AC adaptor, or keyboard cover.
- Container holding water or other liquid (vase, flower pot, cup, cosmetics, medicine, etc.)
- Small metal items (hairpins, sewing needles, coins, etc.)
- Flammable items
- Candles or other flame producing item
Liquid spilling into the product creates the risk of fire and electric shock.
Should any foreign matter get into the product, immediately perform the steps
below.
- Turn off power.
- If you are using an AC adaptor, unplug its power plug from the power outlet.
- Contact your original retailer or a CASIO Service Center.
This Product

Do not throw the product into fire.
Doing so can cause it to explode, creating the risk of fire and personal injury. -
Do not drop the product and avoid subjecting it to impact. Continued use of the product while it is damaged creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Should the product become damaged, perform the steps below.
- Turn off power.
- If you are using the AC adaptor for power, unplug the power plug from the wall outlet.
- Contact a CASIO Service Center.

When moving this product, make sure to use both hands to pick it up.
Failure to do so creates the risk of personal injury to those around you and other unforeseen accidents.
Strap Lock (Guitar Strap Compatible Models Only)

When handling the strap lock, take care to avoid swallowing by small children. Store it in a place away from small children.
Should the strap lock ever be accidentally swallowed, contact a physician immediately. -
After attaching a guitar strap, check the strap lock to make sure that it is securely attached from above. Do not use a damaged strap lock.
Failure to attach the strap lock or an improperly attached strap lock can cause the guitar strap to come off, creating the risk of dropping of the product resulting in product damage and personal injury.
Commercially Available Guitar Strap (Guitar Strap Compatible Models
Only)
- Do not pick up the product, transport it, or swing it around by the commercially available guitar strap.
Doing so can cause the guitar strap to come off, creating the risk of dropping the product, resulting in damage or personal injury.
Battery Precautions

Observe the precautions below. Failure to do so can cause a battery to rupture, creating the risk of fire, personal injury, and soiling of nearby objects by leaking fluid.
- Never allow a battery to become shorted.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix different battery types.
- Do not charge a non-rechargeable battery.
- If you do not plan to use the product for a long time, remove batteries.
- Replace the batteries as soon as possible after they go dead.
- Do not use a battery whose cover has been peeled off.

Do not use a leaking battery.
Doing so creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Immediately stop using the product and contact your original retailer or a CASIO Service Center. -
Keep batteries away from children.
During use, make sure that small children are unable to remove batteries from the product. -
Do not leave a battery near areas used by pets.
Pets chewing on a battery creates the risk of fluid leaking, overheating, fire, and rupture.
AC Adaptor and Power Cord
- To prevent fire and electric shock from the AC adaptor and power cord, be sure to observe the precautions below.
- Grasp the power plug when unplugging it from the wall outlet.
- Do not use detergent when cleaning the power cord, especially the power plug and jack parts.
- Insert the power plug into the outlet as far as it will go.
- If you do not plan to use the product for a long time, unplug from the power outlet.
- At least once a year, unplug the power plug from the power outlet and use a dry cloth to wipe away any dust buildup from the area between the prongs of the plug.
- Before moving the product, turn it off and unplug from the power outlet.
User Maintenance
- Before cleaning the product, turn off power and unplug the AC adaptor from the power outlet.
Failure to do so creates the risk of electric shock.
Leaving the AC adaptor plugged in creates the risk of damage to the power cord, fire, and electric shock.
Connections
- Connect only specified devices and items to connectors. Do not insert foreign objects (pieces of metal, pencils, etc.) into connections.
Connecting to other devices and items creates the risk of fire and electric shock.
Volume Level
- Do not listen at very loud volumes for long periods.
High volume settings can damage hearing.
Particular care is required concerning this precaution when using headphones.
Operating Precautions
Environment
To prevent the formation of mold, set up the product in a well-ventilated location where the temperature and humidity ranges shown below are maintained.
- Recommended temperature range: 15 to 25°C
- Recommended humidity range: 40 to 60% RH
User Maintenance
- Wipe the product with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use a tissue, which can cause scratching.
- When soiling is more serious, moisten a soft cloth with a weak solution of water and a mild neutral detergent, wring out all excess moisture from the cloth, and then wipe the product. After that, wipe again with a separate soft dry cloth.
- Do not use any cleaning agents, chlorine disinfectants, sanitizing wipes, or other items that include benzene, organic solvents, alcohol, or other solvents for cleaning. Doing so can cause discoloration, deformation, paint peeling, cracking, etc.
Sterilization and Disinfection
- After wiping the product two or three times with a non-alcohol sanitizing wipe, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe it dry.
- Note that failure to wipe the product dry can cause streaks to remain.
- If the product is used by multiple parties, hand disinfection before each use is recommended.
Included and Optional Accessories
Use only accessories that are specified for use with this product. Use of unauthorized accessories creates the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
Weld Lines
Lines may be visible on the exterior of the product. These are “weld lines” that result from the plastic molding process. They are not cracks or scratches.
AC Adaptor Handling Precautions

Never connect the AC adaptor (JEITA Standard, with unified polarity plug) that is specified with this Digital Keyboard to any other device besides this Digital Keyboard.
Doing so creates the risk of malfunction. -
The AC adaptor cannot be repaired. If your AC adaptor malfunctions or becomes damaged, you need to purchase a new one.

Use of a different type AC adaptor can cause smoking or malfunction.
Batteries
Note the precautions below when using rechargeable batteries.(Models that support use of rechargeable batteries only)
- Use Panasonic Group AA-size eneloop rechargeable batteries. Do not use any other type of batteries.
- Use only the specified charger to charge batteries.
- Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the product for charging.
- For information about using eneloop batteries or their specified charger, be sure to read the user documentation and precautions that come with each item, and use them only as directed.
Be sure to replace batteries at least once a year, even if there is no indication of low battery power. Dead rechargeable batteries (eneloop) in particular may deteriorate if they are left in the product. Remove rechargeable batteries from the product as soon as possible after they go dead.
