uec HALO85 Automatic Satellite Dish Installation
This guide explains how to install and operate the RV satellite TVRO antenna
system
Before you install the antenna, please read each of the procedures in the
installation guide carefully and understood the safety warning information.
This icon indicates that you must pay your attention to it.
Inspect Parts and Get Tools
Unpack the box carefully and examine all of the supplied parts to ensure
nothing was damaged in shipment
The following items are included in the box, Ensure all components are
included before proceeding the installation

Wiring Connection Select Location for Installation
Selecting the ODU location
Pick an area on the roof of your mobile home that will allow the ODU to be
mounted as flat and level and strong as possible
With good support that will permit the dish, once fitted and raised, to have a
full 360-degree rotation and elevation range.
The ODU requires a clear view of the sky to receive satellite TV, The horizon
at all directions to avoid blockage of the satellite signal.
How to install ODU
- Loosen nuts and remove nuts and washers(8 pcs) on the main unit
- Take out the base plate.Keep the main unit and parts aside for re-assembly after mounting the plate.
- Clean the surface with cleaner
- Locate the mounting plate in the center of the vehicle roof
- Mark 4 holes with a pencil
- Make 4 holes with a power drill
- Apply silicon sealant on the mounting plate and leave 2cm inward gap from the line
- Re-assembly of the main unit to the base plate
How to assemble dish
Required parts for assembly
- Press the POWER button on the IDU power box to turn on the unit. The dish bracket will lift up after power-on and close. ****
- Press POWER button of IDU touch panel.When dish bracket is lifted up to vertical direction(about 90 degrees),turn the unit off.
How to install cable gland entry
Required parts for assembly
- Drill a 25mm hole (or larger) in the centre
- Make sure that hole size is big enough to insert all cables together by one and one
- Apply Silicon Sealant around cable Gland Entry
How to install Bump Stop
Required parts for assembly
- Attach Bump Stop to the dish
- Fix the Bump Stop with M5X20 screw
- Apply Silicon Sealant around
Note: Bump Stop must be securely fitted to support dish Whilst in transit.

How to install IDU touch panel

Locate a suitable location for the IDU Touch Panel.
Flush Mount – Mark out with a pencil and mark a hole 125mm by 50mm. Carefully cut on he hole so panel can be mounted.Please check there is nothing behind where you are cutting. -
Carefully connect the Cable between IDU Remote Panel and The length of RJ45 ethernet cable you use should be within 8 meters.

The IDU Touch Panel is required to be opened to access the four mounting screw holes.
Carefully open the top of the Touch Panel from the notched side. -
Use the four screws provided to securely mount the IDU to the wall

Carefully refit the Touch panel to the IDU
How to install IDU power box
- A dry secure location is required for the IDU to be mounted.
- Drill the mounting holes prepare the site for installation.
Operation
This guide explains how to operate the IDU. The IDU is the system’s user
interface, providing access to the system and its functions through an LCD
display
The antenna system is easy to use. Before you power on IDU, Please double
check following step:
- The antenna has a clear view of the sky
- All the cables are connected correctly
- Turn on your satellite TV STB(set-top box) and TV

- Power-On Phase. (Note. Leave your VAST STB and TV switched off until Halo has LOCKED)
- User Action: Operate the Red Piano switch on Black electrical box from Off (O) to On (—). Red light illuminates.
- Do not touch any panel buttons until the display = SLEEP
- The dish will lift by 10 degrees and Close (This is normal)
- With Display showing SLEEP, System is ready to Deploy.
- Deploy Dish Phase.
- User Action: Touch Power button on Panel (just once).
- Do not touch any panel buttons until display = LOCK
- The dish will move through four steps, indicated on Display:
- ‘DEPLOY’
- ‘SEARCH’
- ‘TUNING’
- ‘LOCK
- Once in the LOCK stage, the display will indicate a Percentage (70% to 80%, for example)
- At this point, you can switch your VAST Set Top Box and TV, On. (Note: Make sure that you have registered your Smart Card with VAST). After the STB has completed it’s boot-up and scan for the first time, Channel 800 will appear on your TV screen. Press OK button on your STB remote control unit (RCU) and select a channel with Up & Down arrow on RCU.
- Refer to your Set Top Box User Guide for operation of the STB.
- Close Dish Phase.
- User Action: Touch Power Button, Once. Display will show ‘SHUT DOWN?’
- To confirm, touch Selection button (1) below YES on display.
- Display changes to CLOSE, then SLEEP.
- Display switches Off.
- From this state (assuming you do not switch off Halo with Red Piano Switch on Black Electrical box), Touching the Power Button will Deploy Dish again.
- Monitor and Diagnostics.
- User Action. From any phase where ‘MENU’ is displayed above Selection button (2), touch button (2)
- From this screen, touch button (2) again to confirm, ‘YES’.
- Screen will change to 1: POWER, 2: VIEW 0/22K
- Touch Button (3) to scroll through List 1 to 11.
- On any List item (1 to 11), touch button (2) to view details.
- To step back to the list or to the main screen, touch the Function Button at the right of Display (opposite Power Button)
Monitor and Diagnostic
You can monitor the real-time data of the system. IDU will tell you whether the relevant data working properly or not. At the same time, It will give you some suggestions to fix it if it is faulty.
- Press MENU will enter menu selection.
- Press NEXT go to MONITOR/DIAGNOSTIC selection
- Press YES will enter MONITOR/DIAGNOSTIC mode

Manual control mode
This feature is very useful for you to control the angle of the antenna manually, including EL,AZ, SKEW.
- UP/DOWN: The direction of rotation STEP: The steps of rotation
- CW/CCW: The direction rotation STEP: The steps of rotation
- CW/CCW: The direction rotation STEP: The steps of rotation
Self-diagnosis
When you need any technical support, please send a photo of menu option 11 as shown b elow, so we can work out what’s wrong and provide the corresponding solutions.
- Press YES will enter self-diagnosis.
