Quick Instructions for Use:
Press and hold down the Face” button to turn on the lights.
Hold the thermometer perpendicular, close to the center of the subject’s forehead, until you can read the temperature inside the two dots.
Release the Face” button and hold the thermometer in position until the lights start flashing.
You can also read the temperature on the display.
The thermometer goes into standby after 20 seconds and displays the ambient temperature for 4 hours before automatically turning off.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you happen to see on the LCD display:
- a countdown in minutes and seconds
- the letters CAL when you take a reading
do not be alarmed: they indicate that the thermometer is CALIBRATING ROOM TEMPERATURE.
IT IS NORMAL, and necessary to achieve Optimum Temperature Accuracy.
Why is room calibration necessary? Please read on…
The temperature of all objects, human or inanimate, is influenced somewhat by the temperature of their surroundings, (i.e. a room’s temperature influences the temperature of a human face/ body). Therefore, before making an accurate temperature measurement, this Walgreens Temperature Projecting Non-Contact Thermometer must first identify the exact temperature of the room where a person is located, then combine this data with that of the subject’s skin temperature.
Result: Optimum Temperature Accuracy.
If the ambient temperature changes, the thermometer must quickly identify the new one.
How it can do this?
Walgreens TEMPERATURE PROJECTING Non-Contact Thermometer has two exclusive and patented Room Calibration systems built in:
1. THE AQCS (AUTOMATIC QUICK CALIBRATION SYSTEM) is performed automatically by the device when it perceives a change in room temperature or its internal temperature.
Automatic room calibration requires around 4 minutes to complete. It is perceived as a countdown in minutes and seconds. After it starts the Calibration process, you have two options: you can wait the end of the Calibration countdown (leaving the device on the table without touching the device), or you can override this AQCS system and choose the Manual Quick Calibration System described below.
2. THE MQCS (MANUAL QUICK CALIBRATION SYSTEM) can be performed by the user in only 3 seconds:
– Press the Face” and the Home” button simultaneously and release.
– Within 10 seconds, focus the thermometer close to an internal wall (at a point between 30 and 60 inches from the floor), then press and release the Home” Button.
The thermometer will have quickly calibrated the room temperature and ready to achieve Optimum Body Temperature Accuracy.
