Using Your Remote Control
Door Lock
To lock the vehicle doors press and release the button.
Door Unlock
To unlock the vehicle doors press and release the button.
Activating the Trunk Release Feature (Optional)
If this feature is enabled on your system, press and hold the button for three
(3) seconds to open the vehicle’s trunk or hatch.
Using the Personal Protection Alarm (Panic) (Optional)
If this feature is enabled on your system, press and hold the button for three
(3) seconds to activate the personal protection alarm. To stop the alarm,
press and hold the button on the transmitter again for 3 seconds.
Remote Starting Your Vehicle
To activate the remote vehicle start function, press and release the button
two (2) times within two (2) seconds. The vehicle will start and run the
predetermined time set up during installation (5 to 60 minutes selectable).
Remote Start Shutdown
Press and release the button two (2) times within two (2) seconds to turn the
vehicle off. Pressing the vehicle’s brake will also shut down the remote
start.
Preheating or Precooling the Vehicle’s interior
Before exiting the vehicle, set the temperature controls to the desired
setting and operation. After the system starts the vehicle, the heater or air
conditioner will activate and heat or cool the vehicle’s interior to your
setting.
Remote Start Service Mode
For safety, the remote start feature can be disabled to prevent accidental
starting while the vehicle is being serviced.
To engage Remote Start Service Mode
- Press and hold the valet button.
- Cycle the vehicle’s ignition ON/OFF three (3) times.
- Release the valet button.
The LED will begin to flash two (2) short flashes followed by one (1) long flash to indicate Remote Start Service Mode is active. Repeat steps 1-3 above to disengage Service Mode.
Entering the Vehicle while it is Running via Remote Vehicle Start
(Optional)
- Unlock the vehicle’s doors.
- Enter the vehicle. DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL!
- Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn to the ON or RUN position.
Press the brake pedal. The remote vehicle starter will disengage and the
vehicle will operate normally.
NOTE: This feature may not be available on all vehicle makes/models. In some vehicle applications the remote start will shut down upon entering the vehicle and the engine will stop running. For these applications, it will be necessary to restart the vehicle normally. Refer to installing dealer for details.
Using Your Security System (Optional)
System Arm
To Arm and lock, the vehicle doors press and release the button. The LED
on the antenna will flash one (1) time while armed.
System Disarm
To D isarm and unlock the vehicle doors press and release the button.
Valet Mode
Valet mode allows the user to Lock or Unlock the vehicle without Arming the
security system. To enter or exit valet mode:
- Turn the vehicle ignition to the ON position.
- Press and hold the valet button for five (5) seconds. The LED on the antenna will turn on solid.
System Override
To disarm the system without the use of the remote control locate the valet
override button on the windshield-mounted antenna.
- Enter the vehicle.
- Turn the vehicle’s ignition to the ON position.
- Press and release the valet button one (1) time.
The system is now disarmed and will remain disarmed until the button is pressed.

Programming Your Remote Control
- Cycle the vehicle’s ignition ON.
- Press and release the valet button three (3) times. Press the button of each transmitter you wish to program, the LEDs will flash to confirm each transmitter.
- Turn the vehicle ignition OFF.
NOTE: This system has one (1) button programming which programs all channels of the system.
NOTE: The system will hold up to four (4) transmitters in memory, programming a 5th transmitter will erase the oldest transmitter in memory.
Replacing The Batteries
Button Remote Control – Model 183BPR
The CR2032 battery inside each remote control should last approximately 1 year
under normal use. When the battery becomes weak you will notice the remote
control range (the distance from the vehicle the remote control will work)
deteriorate and the small LED on the remote control will dim. To replace the
remote control batteries:
- Using a coin, disassemble the halves of the remote control.
- Remove the old battery, observing the +/- symbols on the batteries, and replace it with a new battery.
- Reassemble the halves of the remote control.
- Test operation of the remote control.
LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
Voxx Electronics Corporation (the Company) warrants to the original purchaser
of this product that should this product or any part thereof, under normal use
and conditions, be proven defective in material or workmanship within the
Lifetime from the date of original purchase in the original vehicle, such
defect(s) will be repaired or replaced with the new or reconditioned product,
(at the Company’s option) without the charge for parts or repair labor. A
transmitter for vehicle security or remote start the system is warranted for
12 months from the date of original purchase.
To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of this Warranty, the product
is to be delivered with proof of warranty coverage (e.g. dated bill of sale),
authorization number, specification of defect(s), transportation prepaid, to
an approved warranty station. This warranty is not transferable.
This Warranty does not cover damage to the vehicle’s electrical system or
costs incurred for the installation, removal, or reinstallation of the
product. This Warranty does not cover batteries, broken LCD transmitter
display screens, nor apply to any
product or part thereof which, in the opinion of the Company, has suffered or
been damaged through alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse,
abuse, neglect, accident, or by removal or defacement of the factory serial
number/bar
code label(s).
This Warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties or liabilities. ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SHALL
BE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. ANY ACTION FOR BREACH OF
ANY WARRANTY HEREUNDER INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY MUST
BE BROUGHT WITHIN A PERIOD OF 24 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE. IN
NO CASE SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL
DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY. No person or
representative is authorized to assume for the Company any liability other
than expressed herein in connection with the sale of this product.
The company does not warrant that this product cannot be compromised or
circumvented. THE EXTENT OF THE COMPANY’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS
LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT PROVIDED ABOVE AND, IN NO EVENT,
SHALL THE COMPANY’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY THE PURCHASER
FOR THE PRODUCT WITHOUT INSTALLATION LABOR.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or
the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damage so the above
limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you
specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state
to state.
