Safety Tips

  • A service agent/qualified technician should carry out installation and any repairs if required. Do not remove any components on this product.

  • Consult Local and National Standards to comply with the following:
    – Health and Safety at Work Legislation
    – BS EN Codes of Practice
    – Fire Precautions
    – IEE Wiring Regulations
    – Building Regulations

  • Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance before cleaning.

  • Install the appliance out of the reach of children.

  • Never insert hands or other objects into the appliance while it is connected to the power supply.

  • Install the appliance at least 1 metre away from food preparation areas.

  • Never use near flammable objects.

  • For INDOOR use only.

  • Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.

  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an EAZYZAP agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.

  • EAZYZAP recommends that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test,
    Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
    instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • The appliance is not to be used in locations where flammable vapour or explosive dust is likely to exist.

  • Do not use in barns , stables and similar locations.

  • EAZYZAP recommend that this product is connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).

Installation

  1. Remove all packaging and protective film from the appliance.

  2. For best results, locate the appliance in the darkest part of the room, but at least 1 metre away from food preparation areas.
    Note: Close proximity to other light sources such as sky lights and windows will reduce the effectiveness of the appliance. Prepare the mounting fixings (not supplied) before installation. If in doubt seek professional advice or assistance.

  3. Upon necessity you can install the appliance onto the wall as instructed below.

  • Drill 2 holes on the wall. Ensure there is no electric/water pipe beneath the holes.
  • Insert wall plugs and screws into the holes consecutively (Fig. 1).
  • Hang the appliance on the screws and ensure it rests in place (Fig. 2).

Operation

WARNING: Under no circumstances should hands be placed anywhere near the appliance when it is in operation.
The glue trap uses the specified wavelength of black light tube to attract insects. Then the insects are drawn towards glue board and can’t escape the strength of the glue.
The glue trap is highly efficient and harmless to humans and pets. To use the appliance:

  1.  Connect the power cord to the appliance then to the mains power.
  2. The light will come on and ready for use.

Cleaning, Care & Maintenance

Replace the glue board regularly (on a monthly basis). To change the glue board, simply pull it out (Fig. 3). Replace with a new one. To change the light:

  1. Remove the 2 screws on the metal support that is fixing the light tube.
  2. Remove the metal support.
  3. Twist the light tube anti-clockwise from its socket.
  4. Insert the new light and twist clockwise until tight.
  5. Re-put the metal support in place.

Electrical Wiring

This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.
The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:

  • Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
  • Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
  • Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E

This appliance must be earthed.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency
disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.
