Before first using your new Brilliant
Seaford LED 20cm spike, it is most important that you read and follow these instructions, even if you feel you
are quite familiar with this type of product. Keep this document handy for future reference.

For Your Safety

• During use, the light may become extremely hot. Do not mount in a position where the fitting can be easily accessed by childr en or the infirm.
• Never attempt to touch the light, or replace a globe when the unit is ON. Always allow the fitting and globe to cool to room tem perature before attempting to replace.
• Ensure the power is OFF before the installation.

INSTALLATION for 21625:

1. Carefully unpack the fitting and dispose the packaging thoughtfully
2. Screw Spike Rod ‘A’ into L ight B ase ‘B’ make sure firmly secure
3. Attach Quick Clip Connector ‘C’ into 12V cable ‘F’ on transformer output (model is shown above)
4. Push the spike light into the ground

Note:

• To replace the globe, unscrew Light Cover ‘D’ anticlockwise. Gently push up the MR16 globe and replace a new globe (20952SP001). Screw back Light cover ‘D’, make sure the rubber seal ring is in position
• To release the connector from the cable, press the side and gently pull the connector apart.

Protection & Maintenance Stainless Steel models

The Brilliant Lighting range of Seaford spike lights are offered in Stainless Steel and painted finishes. Stainless Steel offers a high level of protection against the elements and is ideally suited to coastal environments. However, it is critical to note that these Stainless Steel fittings must be properly prepared BEFORE installation, and maintained regularly, in order to maintain their finish.
Stainless Steel has a very high resistance to corrosion. Despite this, ‘blotches’ may appear on the surface of the stainless steel. The cause of the blotching is due to some free iron atoms from the polishing wire brushes remaining on the surface, and is NOT A FAULT. A soft cloth soaked with neutral oil (WD-40) will remove these ‘blotches’.
If exposed to very corrosive environmental conditions (coastal areas, salty atmosphere etc) it will require additional maintenance. BEFORE installation, the stainless steel parts MUST BE TREATED with neutral oil, which must penetrate all the joints, after which, dry the area with a soft cloth. In extremely corrosive environments, the treatment with oil must be repeated at least 4 times a year. In case of serious corrosion, use an abrasive paste designed for stainless steel to remove the stain, then reapply the neutral oil again.

Warranty:

Brilliant Lighting warrants this product against defects in manufacture and workmanship for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. For products used in non-domestic or commercial applications, Brilliant Lighting
warrants this product for a period of 3 months from date of purchase. This warranty is only valid for products installed by a qualified electrical contractor and operated within the guidelines specified by Brilliant Lighting,
and within the correct operating voltage ranges as stated on the product’s rating label.

Warranty does not include damage or loss arising from incorrect installation, operation or maintenance of this product, damage caused through modification, incorrect installation, service by unqualified or unauthorised
personnel or lack of regular maintenance and cleaning. Proof of installation by qualified personnel may be required, eg. Electrical Safety Certificate. Proof of purchase must be supplied with all warranty claims.

This warranty is provided in addition to any other rights and remedies of the customer under any law. In applications not intended for household, personal or domestic use, liability is limited to replacement or
reimbursement of product only. Brilliant Lighting does not warranty the costs of removal or re-installation of this product or associated components.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable
loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Any claim under this warranty must be made within 2 years of the date of purchase of the product. To make a claim under the warranty; at your own expense take the product (with proof of purchase – receipt or similar) to
the store where you purchased the product or contact Brilliant Lighting at the address below.
