**
Thank you for choosing a Hama product. Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely. Please keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new owner.
Controls and displays
-
Air intake opening (both sides)
-
Air sensor
-
Air outlet opening
-
Display and operating display
-
Front panel
-
Top speed button:
On/Off of the maximum fan speed -
Anion button:
Ion Generator On/Off – An ion generator produces negatively charged ions (anions) and small amounts of ozone. This increases the purification performance, as the anions combine with positively charged dirt particles in the room air to form larger clusters. These can then be filtered out more easily by the internal filters.
Warning – Ozone
Do not use this function if you are sensitive to ozone, in bedrooms, in rooms where children are present and in rooms with tobacco smoke. Pets might also feel disturbed. -
Speed button: Fan speed level 1-2 – 3
-
Timer button: Running time preselectable from 1 – 12 hours
-
Mode button: Switching between the operating modes:
Automatic – Sleep – Manual -
Auto button: The device regulates the fan speed independently
according to the air quality -
Sleep button: All displays except the Sleep display go out and the
device operates in whisper mode to allow undisturbed sleep. -
ON/OFF button: After connecting the device to a power socket, the ON/OFF display flashes.
- Touch the button to start the device in Top Speed mode – Select the desired operating mode via the Mode button (10).
-
Control lights
Remove HCHO: Cleaning for formaldehyde is active (always active) Purify: Cleaning for fine dust is active (always active) Anion: lights up when the anion function has been activated via button (7)
Sleep: lights up when Sleep mode (12) has been activated
Replace Filter: filter change indicator. The air purifier calculates a required filter change according to how long it has been used. The change indicator then lights up. The filter should then be replaced to ensure sufficient air purification.- With daily use, the combi-filter should be used up after approx. 6-12 months.
- Since the filter contains all the collected pollutants, it should only be changed outdoors and with appropriate care against contact contamination (gloves/respiratory protection).
- The filter is not washable.
- An unpleasant odour during operation may indicate that filtered substances are decomposing in the filter (e.g. bacteria) and it needs to be replaced or ventilated in the sun.
- Vacuum the filter and the inner housing every 1 to2months to remove coarse dirt. Then place the filter outdoors in direct sunlight for approx. 3 hours to dry it and eliminate any bacteria, viruses etc. that may be present through the UV rays.
- Also hold the vacuum cleaner to the sensor opening (2) to clean it.
- The filter can then possibly be reused. The filter must be replaced after 1 year at the latest. On the one hand, there is a risk that it will no longer completely remove the particles mentioned from the air or that the pollutant particles already in the filter will be released again. The activated charcoal also loses its effect when unpacked.
-
Reset button: After changing the filter, reset the display by pressing the Filter reset button (15) on the remote control.
-
Displays
Speed: Display of the set fan speed level
PM 2.5: in µg/m³; display of measured fine dust particles with an aerodynamic diameter Ø 2.5µm (0.5 to 3.5µm). Typical concentrations in homes are 20 to 30 µg/m³.
Air Quality: After switching on the device, the display flashes until the sensor has warmed up. After that, the display visually shows the indoor air quality.
Green stands for good quality Orange stands for normal quality Red stands for inadequate quality If the humidity in the room is very high, condensation can form on the sensor and negatively affect the display and cause switching back and forth in automatic mode. In this case, use the air purifier with the manual speed setting.
Temp: Display of the room air temperature
Timer: Display of the running time preselected via the Timer button (9)

The principle of air purification
- A fan in the device draws in room air via the air inlets.
- The pre-filter is located at the top of the filter system for the initial filtration of impurities. Larger particles such as dandruff, hair and dust are filtered out.
- Afterwards, the sucked-in air flows through the EPA 11 filter. The abbreviation EPA stands for “Efficiency Particulate Air”. The EPA filter consists of a very fine fibre material. It has the ability to capture the smallest particles down to a size of between 0.1 to 0.3 μm. Thus, it can filter bacteria (0.6 to 1.0 μm); fine dust (0.1 – 10 μm) and pollen (10 – 100 μm) from the air.
- The air then flows through an activated charcoal filter with a cold catalyst layer. It filters out formaldehyde, benzene, other gases and unpleasant odours. Activated charcoal has an excellent absorption capacity. It can deodorise, dehumidify and in some cases trap viruses and have a sterilising effect.
- The ioniser releases negatively charged ions into the air. These combine with the positively charged dirt particles to form larger particles that can be separated more easily.
- The filtered air is discharged into the room at the air outlet.
Start-up and operation
Inserting/changing the filter
Warning
- Make sure that the product is disconnected from the mains.
- Since the filter contains all the collected pollutants, it should only be changed outdoors and with appropriate care against contact contamination (gloves/respiratory protection).
The filter must be inserted before the first start-up.
To do this, proceed as follows:
-
Pull the front panel upwards away from the air intake openings with both hands.
-
A retaining tab is attached to the top end of the filter for easier installation. This must point outwards towards the front panel.
-
Remove the used filter, if any, and dispose of it in your household waste.
-
Remove the new filter from the protective packaging and insert it into the
device. The black side of the activated charcoal filter must face the device. -
Place the filter at the bottom of the filter chamber and insert it using the retaining tab.
-
Replace the front panel and snap it into place.
Switching the device on/off
Warning
-
Only operate the product from an approved socket that is connected to the public power supply. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
-
Disconnect the product from the power supply using the On/Off switch
– if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket. -
If using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the power strip’s maximum throughput rating.
-
If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnect it from mains power.
-
Connect the mains lead on the air purifier to a properly installed socket.
-
Switch the air purifier on/off using the ON/OFF button (11).
