  10. Avoid placing high moisture-contained food items close to the fridge walls, rather place them near to the door to avoid being frozen.
  11. When keeping frozen food for thawing, keep refrigerator compartment temperature lower to save energy.
  12. Food items such as banana, pineapple, papaya, and muskmelon can turn bad easily if stored at low temperature. Avoid refrigerating them for long time.
  13. Once frozen food is melted prefer to cook them immediately to ensure its quality. Do not choose to freeze them again.
  14. Do not store large amount of food items (> 3 kg) in freezer compartment at once.

    f) Do not move fridge by holding it’s handles.

Prohibited: Never keep the fridge flat parallel to the ground.

FACTS

  • During summer, increase in power consumption is normal due to increase in amount of food storage, door opening frequency and ambient temperature.
  • Water drops may appear on the exterior of the fridge when air humidity is high specially in monsoon season and in coastal cities.
  • When fridge goes through temperature changes, evaporator pipes may create some noise.
  • When compressor starts or shuts off, relay switching may create noise.

BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING BY YOURSELF

Problem Description Probable Root Cause What you can do ?
Refrigerator does not work Power supply off Check refrigerator’s main supply

plug is connected to the socket and the switch is ON.
House fuse blown| Get this fixed with the help of an electrician.
Stabilizer does not work| Try connecting power plug directly to the wall socket, if it works then get the stabilizer fixed by repairing center.
Refrigerator attempts to start but fails to operate| Insufficient voltage supply| Install a voltage stabilizer in the mains with the help of an electrician.
Low Cooling| Improper setting of freezer/refrigerator compartment temperature control knobs| Set refrigerator temperature control knob in coldest range i.e. 5 ~ 7 position. Freezer temperature control knob can be set as desired however Super Freeze position will be coldest.
Hot food storage| Avoid storing hot food as it is, let them be at room temperature before keeping them inside refrigerator.
Insufficient space for cool air circulation| Maintain some distance between food containers, do not cover refrigerator interior parts with cloth or plastic sheets.
Door not closed properly| Make sure to close door properly after everytime you open it
Door opening frequency is high| Reduce door opening frequency, as it allows ambient hot air

to get inside.

Refrigerator placed near to heat

source

| Do not install refrigerator near to oven or room heater or in

contact with direct sunlight.

Lack of ventilation in area surrounded by refrigerator| Maintain at least 20 cm distance from all sides of refrigerator.
Over Cooling| Improper setting of freezer/refrigerator compartment temperature control knobs| Set refrigerator temperature control knob in less cold range

i.e. 1 ~ 3 position. Freezer temperature control knob can be set as desired temperature, however normal position will be less cold.

Noise| Refrigerator leveling not done| Adjust levels by rotating front two legs of refrigerator
Normal relay switch ON/OFF noise| Whenever refrigerator starts or stops working, cut-in or cut- off noise gets generated from relay located in compressor. Generation of this noise is absolutely normal condition.
Odour| Poorly wrapped food| Wrap food items properly, close box lids and bottle caps tightly. Make sure utensils are covered with their lid. Clean regularly
Formation of water drops on exterior of refrigerator| ****

High humidity in atmosphere

| Specially during monsoon season atmospheric humidity increases due to this there are chances of water drops formation on exterior of refrigerator, make sure you wipe off

this moisture regularly to ensure products performance.

Poor ice formation| Improper setting of freezer compartment temperature control knobs| For quicker ice or ice-cream formation, set the freezer temperature control knob to Super Freeze position.
