Download HD VCI App
Search for”H D VCI” in the Google Play Store.
The HD VCI App is free to download.
Log in or Sign Up
If you already have a New Chip account, please Log in with your ID. If you do
not have an account, please sign up as instructed in the following paragraph
Please note that one New Chip account is suitable for all products provided by
New Chip.
How to Sign Up for an Account:
Launch the HD VCI App, tap on “Sign Up”. Input your username, email, and
verification code (which will be sent to the email you input), then create
your own password Click on “Sign Up” to finish your registration.
LI Activate an HD VCI Device After your registration, you need to input the serial number and an 8-digit activation code for your HD VCI device.
Download Diagnostic Software
After activating your HD VCI device, as explained in the previous part, go to the”New Chip Store” to download the diagnostic software, some diagnostic software needs to be purchased to download. Please select the software that corresponds to your vehicle.
Plug HD VCI Device into the OBDII Port in Your Vehicle
Usually, the OBDII port is located under the dashboard, above the pedal on the
driver’s side. Here are the 5 common positions for the OBDII port (as shown in
the figure below). Plug New Chip HD VCI device, there will be a green light on
which indicates the device is powered on.
Bluetooth Connection
Launch the HD VCI App, it will automatically search for activated devices, select your device and connect it via Bluetooth in the App.

After the Bluetooth connection, you can use all the functions of your HD VCI device, such as Intelligent Diagnostics, OBD, Report.

Q: What do the different lights on HD VCI indicate?
A: There are four different lights statuses on HD VCI:
Continuous Green Light: The HD VCI device is powered on.
Flashing Blue Light: Bluetooth is in communication.
Continuous Blue Light: Bluetooth is connected.
Continuous Red Light: Firmware upgrading successful or firmware upgrading failed. -
Q: Why do I need to download the diagnostics software after downloading the App?
A: Due to a variety of vehicle manufacturers on the market, different vehicle manufacturers require corresponding diagnostic software. You can download the corresponding diagnosis software according to the vehicle you need to diagnose. -
Q: What vehicles can HD VCI diagnose?
A: HD VCI supports the diagnosis of mainstream model brands. The diagnostics software for the different types of vehicles is available in the New Chip Store in the HD VCI App. Tips: The diagnostics software size varies from different Vehicles. Some diagnostics software downloads are long which requires a good Internet connection. -
Q: Does HD VCI need a firmware upgrade?
A: Yes.it does. When the HD VCI device is connected via Bluetooth to your smartphone, it will automatically check if the firmware on your device is the latest version. If it’s not, it will upgrade automatically. -
Q: What smartphone is compatible with the HD VCI APP?
A: HD VCI APP supports smartphones with Android 5.0 and above. -
Q: Can the same App account bind with multiple devices?
A: Yes, you can set them up in the App.
