JIGSAW SAFETY WARNINGS

  • Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.
  • Keep mains lead clear from working range of the machine. Always lead the cable away behind you.
  • Wear a dust mask.

Additional safety instructions

  • Avoid running your saw at low speeds for extended periods of time. Running at low speeds under constant usage may cause your saw to become overheated. If this occurs, cool your saw by running it without a load at full speed.
  • Use the correct dust collection system as per the instructions in this manual.

RESIDUAL RISKS

The product has been designed with safety features and in accordance with regulations but there are still risks which cannot be completely avoided and the operator should be aware of these:

  • Contact with the cutting blade; gloves should be worn.
  • Damage to hearing; protection should be worn.
  • Inhalation of dust and fibres; a face mask should be worn.
  • Damage to sight; eye protection should be worn.

RISK REDUCTION

It has been reported that vibrations from hand-held tools may contribute to a condition called Raynaud’s Syndrome in certain individuals. Symptoms may include tingling

numbness and blanching of the fi ngers, usually apparent upon exposure to cold environments.

Hereditary factors, exposure to cold and dampness, diet, smoking and work practices are all thought to contribute to  the development of the these symptoms.There are measures that can be taken by the operator to possibly reduce the effects of vibration:

Keep your body warm in cold weather. When operating the unit wear gloves to keep the hands and wrists warm. It is reported that cold weather is a major factor contributing to Raynaud’s Syndrome.

  • After each period of operation, exercise to increase blood circulation.
  • Take frequent work breaks.
  • Limit the amount of exposure per day.

If you experience any of the symptoms of this condition, immediately discontinue use and see your doctor.

Injuries may be caused, or aggravated, by prolonged use of a tool. When using any tool for prolonged periods, ensure you take regular breaks.

MAINTENANCE

**WARNING**

The product should never be connected to a power supply  when you are assembling parts, making adjustments,cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the product is not in use. Disconnecting the product will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious injury.

  • When servicing, use only original manufacturer’s replacement parts, accessories and attachments. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage.
  • Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc.
  • Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleumbased products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy plastic.
  • Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating or cleaning the product. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
  • Clean the product using a brush or a dust collection system.
  • If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged, it must be replaced by a specially prepared cord available through the service organization.
  • For greater safety and reliability, all repairs should be performed by an authorised service centre.
  • All of the bearings in the product are lubricated with a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life span of the product under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further lubrication is required.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Recycle raw materials instead of disposing of as waste. The machine, accessories and packaging should be sorted for environmental friendly recycling.
