IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

  • Read all instructions.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle or thermostat button.
  •  To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use or before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near a gas or electric burner, or other heated oven.
  • To disconnect the appliance, remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use the appliance for things other than for what it was intended.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  •  This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance is intended for domestic use only.
No user-serviceable parts inside.

A short power cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used with care; however, its marked electrical rating should be at least as great as the electrical rating of this appliance. The extension cord should be positioned such that it does not hang over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. The electrical rating of this appliance is listed on the appliance’s rating plate.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Before using for the first time, the hotplates should be cleaned with a moist cloth.
We recommend lightly greasing the hotplates when using the appliance for the first time. This will not be necessary on subsequent occasions.

PLUGGING THE IRON IN
Check that the voltage is correct. Ensure that the full length of the cord has been unwound from the cord storage reservoir.

HOTPLATES
The hotplates have a Teflon coating and should only be greased with margarine prior to the appliance being used for the first time.

FILLING WITH CAKE BATTER

  1.  Close the iron while it heats up.
  2. The indicator light shows a red light. When the green light lights up the iron is ready.
  3.  Open the lid and put a heaped tablespoon with batter in the middle of the plate. Close the lid.
  4. When the green indicator light stops, the red indicator light is lit. After a few minutes the green indicator light is lit again, and the cake is finished.
  5. If you think that the cake is too light or too dark, adjust the thermostat accordingly.

Using a cone roller you can make crispy cone cakes.
The cakes must be rolled around the cone while the cake is still warm. You can also shape the cake over a cup, and serve it with something delicious in.

RECIPIE

Makes approx 14 cakes

  • 2 eggs that is weighed.

  • Weigh up equal parts flour, sugar, and liquid margarine/softened butter.
    (If the 2 eggs in total weighs 125g, weigh 125g flour, 125g sugar, and 125g butter)

  • 1 tablespoon water per egg

  • 1 teaspoon cardamom

  • Whip the egg and sugar until it’s white.

  • Add melted butter, flour, cardamom, and water. Stir together.

  • If the batter is too thick, you can adjust with water.

  • Put 1 heaped tablespoon of batter in the iron.

CLEANING

  •  Always pull out the plug before any cleaning operation and allow the appliance to cool down.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or hold it under running water.
  • Wipe down the casing with a moist cloth only.
  • Clean the hotplates after they have cooled down with a moist cloth or with a very soft brush.
  • Never use sharp or pointed objects or any abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning purposes.

NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID.

GUARANTEE

Wilfa issues a 5 years guarantee on this product from the day purchase is done. Guarantee covers production failure or defects that arise during guarantee period. Buying receipt of the product is proof of guarantee.

When claiming guarantee, the shop where the product is bought is to be contacted. Guarantee is valid only for products that is bought and used in private household.

Guarantee is not valid if the product is used commercially. Guarantee is not valid if the product is misused, used by negligence, if not following instructions given by Wilfa, if modified or if unauthorized reparation is done. Guarantee is also not valid for normal wear of the product, misuse, lack of maintenance, use of wrong electrical voltage or:

  •  Overloading of product
  • Coating
