Instructions For Assembly
Necessary Tools:
- Phillips screwdriver
- 1/2″ inch wrench or adjustable wrench
- Adjustable slip jaw pliers
Step 1
Remove your Scoot-N-Do parts from their packaging. Make sure you do this
outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, as the wheels will give off a strong
rubber odor for a few days. Check that all parts shown below are included.
Washers come attached to their respective bolts. You’ll need to unscrew the
nuts from their bolts before you begin.
Hardware
Step 2
Place the Rear Axle into the back of the frame.
Step 3
Insert the Steering Link Connector with nub side facing up into the Front
Axle Support. Tighten with two 8×20 mm bolts, two 8 mm washers, and two 8mm
nuts. Use your pliers to grip the head of the bolt as you secure the nut with
a wrench.
Step 4
Slip an Axle Sleeve onto each end of the Rear Axle. Place a washer (one
that was packaged along with your Cotter Pins), then a Wheel (valve stem
facing out) onto each end of the Rear Axle. Slip another washer onto each end
of the Rear Axle. Slip a Cotter Pin through the hole at the end of the Rear
Axle. To keep the Wheels in place, open the Cotter Pin and wrap its ends
around the Rear Axle.
Step 5
Place a washer (again, one that was packaged along with your Cotter Pins),
then a Wheel (valve stem facing out) onto each end of the Front Axle. Slip
another washer onto each end of the Rear Axle. Slip a Cotter Pin through the
hole at the end of the Front Axle. To keep the Wheels in place, open the
Cotter Pin and wrap its ends around the Front Axle. Front Axles do not require
Axle Sleeves.
Step 6
Detach the 8mm nut, its small washer, and large washer from the built-in
bolt-on the Front Axle. Lift the Handle over the bolt and hand-fasten with the
large and small washers and nut as shown above. Make sure not to overtighten
bolts, as the steering may lock. Pull your Caddy to ensure the Handle glides
freely to the left and right. If the Handle is stiff or does not steer
properly, loosen one or both of the bolts just a little. This should make the
Handle work smoothly.
Step7
Fasten the front of the mesh metal Tool Tray to the Frame using the Small
Reinforcing Plate and your 6×15 mm bolts, nuts and washers. Put the Plate
underneath the front rim of the Tray (be sure to line up the holes with the
premade holes in the front Tray Bracket). For more precise alignment, place
the back of the Tray on the rear tires while lining up the front parts. Grip
each nut with a wrench or pliers which securing each bolt with your slotted
flat head screwdriver.
Step 8
Repeat Step 7 to connect the back of the Tray with the Tray Bracket and
Small Reinforcing Plate. Make sure all nuts are secure on the Tray.
Step 9
Center the Basket between the rear Wheels, lining up the Basket bottom with
the bottom of the Back Axle. Attach the Basket to the pre-welded hook in the
Frame.
Step 10
Use the four 10×15 mm bolts, nuts and washers to fasten the Seat to the
Seat Post. Secure the bolts with your pliers and screwdriver. You’ll notice
that the threaded stem of the Seat Post already has a washer and Cotter Pin in
place. Make sure that the Cotter Pin is securely wrapped around the Axle.
Simply turn the Seat clockwise or counterclockwise (o raise or lower it to the
height that works best for you. We’ve found that the Caddy is most comfortable
when the Seat height is adjusted so that your feet rest level and your legs
are parallel with the ground.
