Luna Products LPFF02345 Flood Freeze sensor

The Luna Products Flood/Freeze sensor (LP.FF02.345.1) is designed for indoor residential and light commercial use. The Flood/Freeze sensor can be easily installed under sinks, near showers, tubs, toilets, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, water heaters, basements, and other areas where water may accumulate or pool. It communicates with Luna and 2GIG Control Panels over 345 MHz frequency. Signals are transmitted to the alarm control panel when it detects a wet (Loop 1) or freeze (Loop 2) condition. For additional security, the sensor is supervised and is equipped with a tamper switch that sends a tamper signal when the cover is removed.

General Guidance

  1. Do not install outdoors.
  2. Do not install in areas where the sensor would be submerged in water for more than 30 minutes.

Activating and Pairing the Keyfob

Activating and pairing the Flood/Freeze sensor should be performed prior to the physical installation of the Flood/Freeze sensor. To pair the sensor to the control panel, you must set the panel to pairing mode.

  1. Set the control panel to pairing mode.
  2. Using the test button located on the bottom of the Flood/Freeze sensor press for one (1) second and release.
  3. If required, you can manually enter in the TXID of the sensor to the control panel.
  4. Some systems may allow you to use their app to scan the QR code.
  5. Verify from the control panel that the sensor has been paired.
Note: Pairing should be performed before installation.
Note: The TXID is the 7 digits located on the TXID/QR Code label, located on the bottom of the Flood/Freeze sensor.
Installation Procedure
  1. Follow Activating and Pairing the Detector instructions first.
  2. Place the Flood/Freeze sensor on a level flat surface under sinks, near showers, tubs, toilets, dishwashers, refridgerators, washing machines, water heaters, basements, and other areas where water may accumulate or pool.
  3. The unit is ready for use.
Walk Testing
  1. Put the control panel into sensor test mode.
  2. Using the test button located on the bottom of the Flood/Freeze sensor press for one (1) second and release. The Flood/Freeze sensor transmits a signal to the control panel.
  3. Check the control panel to see if the test signal was received.
  4. Exit sensor test mode.
Important: Instruct the customer to test at least once a month to verify proper function of the Flood/Freeze sensor.
Unpair the Detector from Panel
  • Follow control panel instructions to remove the Flood/Freeze sensor from the panel.
Replacing the Battery
  1. Carefully remove the four silicone rubber feet on the bottom of the Flood/Freeze sensor, followed by the four screws. Set these aside for use later.
  2. Gently pry the casing apart.
  3. Replace the battery with One (1) CHAO CHUANG CR2450 Lithium battery, or equivalent CR2450 Lithium battery. Carefully insert a small flathead screwdriver along the side of the battery and gently twist the screwdriver. This will pop the battery out of battery mounting bracket.
  4. Replace the CR2450 Lithium battery with the + side facing up towards you.
  5. When putting the top and bottom cases back together again, note that the top piece has a circle with an X thru it. This circle with an X must go over the battery directly for a proper seal and function.
  6. Replace one screw into each hole and tighten gently. Next replace each of the four silicone rubber feet.
  7. After replacing the batteries, it is recommended that you test the Flood/Freeze sensor to make sure it works properly.

Note: Removing the cover will trigger a zone tamper signal to the control panel. If the panel has an activate monitoring account, it will send a signal to the Central Station as well.
CAUTION! Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used battery according to the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
