Product Safety Guidelines
WARNING
Improper use may result in fire, property damage, or personal injury. Make
sure to use the product according to the following safety rules and
guidelines.
Installation Notes:
- The RIVER Plus Extra Battery must be installed with RIVER Plus before it can be used. It cannot be used by itself.
- During the installation process, please pay attention to anti-static protection to ensure that there is no static electricity from the operator or the environment. Static electricity may cause damage to the product.
- RIVER Plus must be turned off before the installation process.
- Tighten the screws to ensure the RIVER Plus Extra Battery is firmly attached to RIVER Plus.
- The RIVER Plus Extra Battery is designed to be used with RIVER Plus power station only. DO NOT connect it with a RIVER or other power stations.
Product Use:
- DO NOT expose the product to any liquids. Do not immerse the product in water. DO NOT leave the batteries out in the rain or near a source of moisture. Moisture in the product could cause short circuits, component failure, fires or even explosions.
- Never use non-EcoFlow parts. Go to http://www.EcoFlow.com to purchase new parts. EcoFlow takes no responsibility for any damage caused by the use of non-EcoFlow parts.
- Never install or remove the RIVER Plus Extra Battery or other modules from the RIVER Plus when it is turned on. DO NOT plug or unplug other modules when the power of the product is turned on, otherwise the power interface may be damaged.
- DO NOT use the product in environments above 140ºF (60°C), it may cause fire or explosion. Using the product in environments below -4ºF (-20°C) will severely affect the performance of the product. Allow the product to return to a normal operating temperature before use it.
- DO NOT use the batteries in strong electrostatic or electromagnetic environments. Otherwise, the battery control board may malfunction and cause a serious accident during use.
- Never disassemble or puncture the product in any way. Otherwise, it may leak, catch on fire, or explode.
- DO NOT use the product if it was involved in a crash, accident, or a forceful jolt.
- If the product falls into the water during use, take the product out immediately and put it in a safe and open area. Keep a safe distance from it until it is completely dry. Never use it again and dispose of it properly as described in the Battery Disposal section below. If the product catches fire, it is recommended to use fire extinguishing equipment in the following order: water or water mist, sand, fire blan- ket, dry powder fire extinguisher, and carbon dioxide fire extinguisher.
- DO NOT put the RIVER Plus Extra Battery in a microwave oven or in a pressurized container.
- DO NOT allow pins, wires or other metal pieces to insert to the RIVER Plus Extra Battery case, outlets or controls. Metal pieces may short circuit the product.
- Avoid collision. DO NOT place heavy objects on top of the RIVER Plus Extra Battery.
- If there is dirt on any plug or outlet surface, use a dry cloth to clean it. Otherwise, it will cause abrasion and result in energy loss or inability to charge.
- You can only connect the RIVER Plus Extra Battery to the RIVER Plus. Do not connect the RIVER Plus Extra Battery to RIVER power station or other products. EcoFlow will not be responsible for any losses or damages caused by failure to follow this instruction.
Product Charging
- Always use EcoFlow approved charging cables. EcoFlow will not be responsible for any losses or damages caused by failure to follow this instruction.
- When charging, please place the product on the ground with no flammable or combustible materials around it. To prevent accidents, never leave it unattended during charging.
- DO NOT charge a product immediately after a long or heavy load, because the product temperature may have become too high. DO NOT charge a product until it cools down to room temperature.
Product Storage and Transportation:
- Keep the product out of the reach of children. If any child accidentally swallows any parts, please seek medical attention immediately.
- If a low-battery warning appears, charge the battery before storing it. Otherwise, long-term storage may cause damage to the battery. Batteries in the product will enter hibernation mode if they are depleted and stored for a long time. Recharging the product can bring the battery out of hibernation.
- DO NOT place the product near a heat source, such as inside a car in direct sunlight, a fire source, or an operating stove.
- Store the product in dry environments. Please keep it away from water.
- Make sure no objects can fall on or around the product while it’s being stored.
- Never ship a product with a battery power level higher than 30%.
Product Disposal:
- Dispose of the RIVER Plus Extra Battery product in specific recycling boxes only after a complete discharge. Batteries are hazardous chemicals. Please strictly follow your local regulations regarding battery disposal and recycling.
- Dispose of the product if it cannot be powered on after over-discharging.
Product Maintenance:
- Store the product in a dry and cool environment, away from any abrasive objects. Temperature for normal use and storage of this product is -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C) and temperature for optimal use and storage of this product is 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C).
- f the product is not used for a long time, the battery life may be reduced.
- Discharge RIVER Plus Extra Battery to 30%, then charge to 85% every 3 months to keep the battery healthy.
Travel Notice:
Do not bring this product on flights.
Extra Battery Usage and Safety Guide
NOTICE
Make sure to turn RIVER Plus off before installing the RIVER Plus Extra
Battery. PRESS and HOLD the ON / OFF System Power Button to ensure that the
power is off. DO NOT turn RIVER Plus on before installing the bottom cover;
the cover is required for proper battery connection.
After the installation is complete, restart the product. DO NOT keep removing
the battery frequently as this requires the product to complete a cell
balancing process, which will affect user experience.
Users are recommended to purchase RIVER Plus and the RIVER Plus Extra Battery
at the same time. If users purchase the RIVER Plus Extra Battery after using
the RIVER Plus for a long time, the output of the product will be affected by
the balance between the power station and the RIVER Plus Extra Battery (normal
process). Please fully charge the product to 100% before using it.
Extra Battery Module Installation Instructions

Make sure that the RIVER Plus is turned off. Take out the screws from the Extra Battery Module Kit and locate the four screws on the bottom cover.
Note: Please pay attention to prevent the buildup of static electricity during the installation process.

Unscrew the four short screws according to the figure above before removing the bottom cover. The Male Battery Socket will be visible. Position the Extra Battery according to the figure below. (Note: Do not remove the top cover; only the bottom covers needs removing).

Align the male and female battery sockets and connect them. Close the bottom cover. Take the four long screws from the Extra Battery Module Kit and screw them securely into place.

Turn the RIVER Plus upright and turn it on. The Extra Battery Panel will turn blue. The Extra Battery Indicator will be shown on the RIVER Plus display when it has been installed correctly. Make sure the product is fully charged before use. If the ambient light does not turn on, or the Extra Battery Indicator does not show on the RIVER Plus display, repeat Step 2 and check the product connection.

Enter the Module Settings on the EcoFlow app to access ambient light features.
- The ambient light can be turned on / off, kept on, or put on a standby mode.
- Select the ambient light color.
- Adjust the brightness of the light.
- Select the lighting mode. (There are five unique lighting modes to choose from).
