INCOAX Access A251 Modem User Guide

READ THIS FIRST

Please read the following text carefully. Otherwise it may result in loss of performance, damage to the product, fire, electrical shock or injury. The warranty of the product may be void if other accessory than supplied with the product is used.

  1. Do not use near medical equipment, pacemakers or hearing aids.
  2. Do not expose to water, moisture, high humidity or high concentration of dust, as this may cause damage to the product or set it on fire.
  3. Do not expose the product to temperatures lower than -25 °C or above 55 °C. Ensure operating temperature between 0 °C and 40 °C.
  4. Do not cover the product with textiles, pillows or other heat insulating materials, or block its ventilation holes.
  5. Do not stick any foreign objects, like metal or flammable objects into the product. This may cause electrical shock or set the product on fire.
  6. Do not expose to open flames or any hot materials.
  7. Do not place heavy objects on top of this product.
  8. Do not drop, throw or try to bend the product.
  9. Do not tighten the coax connectors with a tool. Do it only by hand.
  10. Do not use any other power adapter than the one supplied with the product.
  11. Do not damage the power cable, make any modifications to it, place heavy objects or objects with sharp edges on top of it, heat it, place it near any hot objects, twist it, bend it excessively or pull it. To do so may cause fire and/or electric shock. If the power cable or any of the plugs are damage discard the whole Power Adapter. Please contact the Operator or InCoax dealer for an approved Power Adapter. Please refer to the chapter “DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING” for more information about how to discard the product.
  12. Do not open the product in any way as this may cause injury or fire. Please contact your Operator or InCoax dealer for any inspection, adjustment or repair work. Improper repair work can be dangerous.
  13. Never disassemble or modify this product. Tampering with this product may result in injury or fire. Please note that the warranty may be void if the product has been modified in any way.

INSTALLATION

Please follow these steps in the order they are presented.

  1. Connect the supplied Coaxial cable to the Coax Network input
    (E) on the Modem. Connect the other end of the cable to the TV
    wall socket marked ”TV”.

  2. If you do have a TV service (Cable/Satellite), connect the antenna cable from the TV to TV output (D). If needed use the Adapter male F-connector to coax.
    If no TV is connected to TV output (D), mount the Termination 75 Ω on this outlet. For IP-TV services, follow instructions from your IP-TV supplier.

  3. Connect the supplied Power Adapter to the Power port (H) and then plug it into the wall socket.
    The Power status (A) indicator on the Modem will be lit with a constant light.
    The Modem will now connect to the Operator’s service. Please note that this can take up to 15 minutes. Once a connection has been established the Coax link status (B) indicator will be lit. The indicator will change between a steady light and a blinking light to indicate that data is transfered to and from the Modem.

  4. You can now connect your computer, switch and/or router to the LAN ports (F). The corresponding LAN status (C) indicators will blink when there is data traffic.

  5. (a) Mount the Modem with the screws (included) or (b) mount the Bracket and snap the modem into place.

Warning
The power adapter YSV10-1201000 supplied with A2511/A2512 must only be used with A2511/A2512 and A2511/A2512 must only be connected to the supplied powe adapter YSV10-1201000. The power adapter F30L2-560050SPACP supplied with A2511/A2512-RPF must only be used with A2511/A2512-RPF and A2511/A2512-RPF must only be connected to the supplied power adapter F30L2-560050SPACP.

DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING

GENERAL
The symbol to the right is found on the product and packaging. It means that according to local laws and regulations this product should not be disposed in the household waste but sent for recycling. Please take it to a collection point designated by your local authorities once it has reached the end of its life. Some of these will accept products for free. By recycling the product in this manner you help to conserve the environment and protect human health.

To minimize this impact InCoax designs and builds its products to be as environmentally friendly as possible, by using recyclable, low toxic materials in both the products and packaging.
InCoax recommends that you always switch off or unplug your InCoax products when they are not in use. By doing so you will help to save energy and reduce the carbon dioxide emissions.

WARRANTY

LIMITED WARRANTY – GENERAL TERMS

This Limited Warranty applies only to InCoax-branded hardware products sold by or leased from InCoax Networks, its subsidiaries, affiliates, authorized resellers, or country distributors (collectively referred to in this Limited Warranty as “InCoax”) with this Limited Warranty. The term “Hardware Product” is limited to the hardware components and required firmware. The term “Hardware Product” DOES NOT include any software applications or programs. InCoax guarantees that the Hardware Products that you have purchased or leased from InCoax are free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use during the Limited Warranty Period. The Limited Warranty Period starts on the date of purchase or lease from InCoax, it is valid for 13 months and you fully accept the InCoax Limited Warranty Conditions at purchase. Your dated sales or delivery receipt, showing the date of purchase or lease of the product, is your proof of the purchase or lease date. You may be required to provide proof of purchase or lease as a condition of receiving  warranty service. You are entitled to hardware warranty service according to the terms and conditions of this document if a repair to your Hardware Product is required within the Limited Warranty Period. During the Limited Warranty Period, InCoax will, at its discretion, repair or replace any defective component. All component parts or hardware products removed under this Limited Warranty become the property of InCoax. In the unlikely event that your Hardware Product has recurring failures, InCoax, at its sole discretion, may elect to provide you with:

  • a) A replacement unit of InCoax’ choosing that is the same or equivalent to your Hardware Product in performance or
  • b) To give you a refund of your purchase price or lease payments (less interest) instead of a replacement.

These are your only alternatives for defective products. It is mandatory that the product number and serial number of the unit be made available when requesting a warranty service event. Failure to do so may result in the event being deemed out of warranty by InCoax or, InCoax’ Authorized Service Providers, and therefore chargeable to the requester. Unless otherwise stated, and to the extent permitted by local law, new Hardware Products may be manufactured using new materials or new and used materials equivalent to new in performance and reliability. InCoax may repair or replace Hardware Products:

  • a) With new or previously used products or parts equivalent to new in  performanceand reliability, or
  • b) With equivalent products to an original product that has been discontinued Replacement parts are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for ninety (90) days or, for the remainder of the Limited Warranty Period of the Hardware Product they are replacing or in which they are installed, whichever is longer.

Notes:

  1. Firmware upgrades are not covered under this InCoax Limited Warranty Conditions. Firmware that is an integral part of the hardware is not automatically upgraded when new versions of the firmware are released.
  2. Firmware upgrades can be purchased as part of Support Services according to actual Price List.
  3. Hardware Replacement can be purchased as part of the Support Service according to the actual Price List.

EXCLUSIONS

InCoax does not guarantee that the operation of this product will be uninterrupted or error-free. InCoax is not responsible for damage that occurs as a result of your failure to follow the instructions intended for Hardware Product(s). This Limited Warranty does not apply to expendable or consumable parts and does not extend to any product from which the serial number has been removed, damaged or rendered defective. Furthermore, the Limited Warranty is not applicable for the following:

  • a) As a result of accident, misuse, abuse, contamination, improper or inadequate maintenance or calibration or other external causes.
  • b) By operation outside the parameters stated in the user documentation that is shipped with the product (including incorrect input voltage or voltage peaks caused by lightning).
  • c) Improper site preparation or maintenance.
  • d) Virus infection of the software and/or firmware.
  • e) Loss or damage in transit.
  • f) By modification or service by anyone other than:
1. InCoax
2. An InCoax authorized service provider

InCoax is not responsible for any interoperability or compatibility issues that may arise when:

  1. Products, software, or options not supported by InCoax are used.
  2. Configurations not supported by InCoax are used.
  3. Parts intended for one system are installed in another system of different make or model.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

If the Hardware Product fails to work as warranted above, InCoax’ maximum liability under the Limited Warranty is expressly limited to the lesser of the price paid for the Product or the cost of repair or replacement of any hardware components that malfunction in conditions during normal use. In no event will InCoax be liable for, except as indicated above, any damages caused by the Product or the failure of the Product to perform, including any lost profits or savings, business interruption, loss of use or any other commercial or economic loss of any kind, or special, incremental, or consequential damages. InCoax is not liable for any claim made by a third party or made by you for the third party. This limitation of liability applies whether damages are sought, or a claim made, under this limited warranty or as a tort claim (including negligence and strict product liability), a contract claim or any other claim. This limitation in liability cannot be waivered or amended by any person. This limitation of liability will be effective even if you have advised InCoax, or an authorized representative of InCoax, of the possibility of any such damages or even if such possibility were reasonably foreseeable. This limitation of liability, however, will not apply to claims for personal injury. This limited liability gives specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that may vary from state to state or from country to country. You are advised to consult applicable state or country laws for a full determination of rights. If InCoax determines that damage/ failure that exists is not covered by the warranty the end user will be contacted to determine whether such damage/failure should be repaired for a charge or whether the Hardware Product should be returned to the end user as received. All associated transportation and handling costs are charged to the customer.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

To enable InCoax to provide the best possible support and service during the Limited Warranty Period, you will be required to:

  • Maintain a proper and adequate environment, and use the Hardware Product in accordance with the given instructions.
  • Verify configurations, load the most recent firmware, install software patches, run InCoax diagnostics and utilities, and implement temporary procedures or workarounds provided by InCoax while InCoax works on permanent solutions.
  • Allow InCoax to keep resident on your systems or sites certain system and network diagnostics and maintenance tools to facilitate the performance of warranty support.
  • Provide remote connectivity through an InCoax-approved communications line, if required.
  • Assist InCoax in running the service tests.
  • Use the electronic data transfer capability to inform InCoax of events identified by the software.
  • Purchase InCoax-specified remote connection hardware for systems with remote diagnosis service, if required.
  • Use InCoax remote support solutions where applicable.
    InCoax strongly encourages you to use the available support technologies provided by InCoax. If you choose not to deploy available remote support capabilities, you may incur additional costs due to increased support resource requirements. It is recommended to cooperate with InCoax in attempting to resolve the problem over the telephone or e-mail. This may involve performing routine diagnostic procedures, installing additional software updates or patches, removing third party options, and/or substituting options. You should maintain a procedure to reconstruct your lost or altered files, data, or programs that is not dependent on the Hardware Product under warranty support. Notify InCoax if you use Hardware Products in an environment that poses a potential health or safety hazard to InCoax employees or subcontractors. InCoax may require you to maintain such products under InCoax supervision and may postpone warranty service until you remedy such hazards. InCoax may request that you perform additional tasks as defined within each type of warranty service listed above and any other actions that InCoax may reasonably request in order to best perform the warranty support.

SOFTWARE LIMITED WARRANTY

Except as provided in the applicable software end-user license or program license agreement, or if otherwise provided under local law, software products, including any freeware (as defined below) or operating systems preinstalled by InCoax are provided “AS IS” and with all eventual faults, and InCoax hereby disclaims all other warranties and conditions, either express, implied, or statutory, including, but not limited to, warranties of title and non-infringement, any implied warranties, duties or conditions of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose, and lack of software viruses. Some states/jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of implied warranties or limitations on the duration of implied warranties, so the above disclaimer may not apply to you in its entirety. To the maximum permitted by applicable law, in no event shall InCoax or its suppliers be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever. This is including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits or confidential or other information, for business interruption, for personal injury, for loss of privacy arising out of or in any way related to the use or inability to use the software product, even if InCoax or any supplier has been advised of the potential of such damages and even if the remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some states/jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. The only warranty obligations of InCoax with respect to software distributed by InCoax under the InCoax brand name are set forth in the applicable end-user license or program license agreement provided with that software. If the removable media on which InCoax distributes the software proves to be defective in materials or workmanship within ninety (90) days of purchase, your only alternative is to return the removable media to InCoax for replacement.
