Instruction

SAFETY

  • By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer can not be held responsible for the damage.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make sure the cord can not become entangled.
  •  The appliance must be placed on a stable, level surface.
  •  The user must not leave the device unattended while it is connected to the supply.
  •  This appliance is only to be used for household purposes and only for the purpose, it is made for.
  •  This appliance shall not be used by children aged less than 8 years. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless older than 8 and supervised.
  • To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any other liquid.
  •  Only use the appropriate connector for this device.
  •  The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an earthed contact (for class I appliances).
  • The appliance must be connected to an outlet that is protected by a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of not more than 30 mA.
  • The appliance is suitable for outdoor use.
  • WARNING: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.
  • WARNING: If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of an electric shock.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below combustible material, such as curtains.
  •  The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  •  To prevent fire or shock hazards do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
  • The surface is liable to get hot during use. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments.
    • By clients in hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments.
    • Bed and breakfast type environments.
    • Farmhouses.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  •  Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.

  •  Before using your appliance for the first time, wipe off all removable parts with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive products.

  •  Place the device on a flat stable surface and ensure a minimum of 10
    cm. free space around the device. This device is not suitable for installation in a cabinet or for outside use.

  •  Put the power cable into the socket. (Note: Make sure the
    voltage which is indicated on the device matches the local voltage before connecting the device. Voltage 220V-240V  50/60Hz)

USE

  • Fill the measuring cup with corn. Spread the corn around the popcorn chamber in the machine. Only corn is required for making the popcorn, no other ingredients, such as oil, have to be added to the process.
  • Close the popcorn lid. Use a bowl that will fit under the opening of the machine to catch the popcorn as it is made.
  • Plugin the machine and switch it on using the On/Off switch. After about 3 minutes most of the grains will have exploded and the popcorn is ready to eat.
  • Then switch off the machine again by moving the main switch to ‘Off”. Some kernels will be un-popped. These should be removed once the machine has cooled down.
  • After each use, let the machine cool down for about 10 minutes. The Popcorn maker is fitted with an overheating security device which will switch the machine off automatically if it becomes overheated. The machine will function normally once the temperature has dropped back to a normal level again.
  • Only put popcorn in the popcorn chamber and never any other ingredients! Never put oil, butter etc. into the popcorn chamber.
  • Do not open the lid for at least 10 minutes after the machine has stopped.

RECIPES

Chocolate popcorn:

  • Ingredients: 60 g popcorn, 80 g cooking chocolate, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sugar, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) milk, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) butter (or margarine)
  • Preparation: Melt chocolate, milk, and butter before sweetening. Allow the mixture to cool until lukewarm, then pour it into the bowl, add the popcorn, and mix. Put the popcorn in the refrigerator to chill. Finally, remove it from the refrigerator and turn the bowl upside down to release the chocolate popcorn.

Caramel popcorn:

  • Ingredients: 60 g popcorn, 100 g of sugar, 250 ml water, one cup of water and ice
  • Preparation: Melt the sugar with water in order to obtain caramel. Put the warm popcorn in the hot caramel and drop this into the cup containing water and ice so that the caramel becomes hard. Dry well.

Spicy popcorn with nuts:

  • Ingredients: 1 measuring cup corn, 2 dessert spoons of olive oil, 125 g almonds, 125 g cashew nuts, 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon paprika powder.
  • Preparation: make the popcorn as described earlier. Roast the cashew nuts and the almonds in a pan. Add the spices to this. Mix the nuts and the popcorn together in a dish. Let it all cool down and the popcorn is ready for eating.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and wait for the appliance to cool down.
  • Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners, scouring pads,s or steel wool, which damages the device.
  • Never immerse the electrical device in water or any other liquid. The device is not dishwasher-proof.
