PACKING AWAY

Before deflating the SUP, ensure that you have removed the fin-guard and detached the fin to prevent the possibility of punctures. Wipe away any excess sand/dirt and make sure it is as dry as possible to prevent the possibility of dampness or mold. In the situation that your SUP is severely soiled, please apply mild soap and warm water, but avoid the use of corrosive chemicals.

Once you are happy with the condition of your SUP, twist the valve cap to remove and press the pushpin into deflate’ mode corresponding to the diagram next to the valve. Do not face directly over the valve as the pressure could cause some discomfort. The majority of the air will expel from the deflation pressure, but in order to get your board fully flat for optimal transportability you will need to do the following:

  1. Sit on the end of the SUP opposite the valve and work your way towards the valve in a crawl-ike formation.
  2. Once you are satisfied that all air has been expelled, roll your SUP from the opposing end to the valve in the way you would a sleeping bag.
  3. Once you have reached the valve with the rear end of your SUP, push the pushpin to lock it and reattach the valve cap.
  4. Use your SUP backpack as a guideline for the ideal size of your flattened UP- it needs to be small enough for the bag to accommodate both the SUP body and accompanying accessories.
Please pack and store the SUP in the backpack provided in a cool dry place and away from direct sunlight to prevent the possibility of sun- bleaching/overheating of the PVC.

SAFETY AND CARE

  • Ensure that the coiled ankle leash is attached at all times when aboard the SUP- upon exiting the water, ensure that your leash is not dangling to avoid it getting caught on rocks/causing potential accidents

  • Weather depending, we recommend wearing a wetsuit and buoyancy aid at all times. Though our

  • SUPs are in relatively bright colours, it is advisable to purchase a bright buoyancy aid to make yourself visible to any onlookers

  • Utlise your cargo straps for emergency items such as water, mobile phone, food, whistle, torch (1CE) etc. The cargo nets’ expandable nature has the capacity to store both dry bags and cool bags with ease.

  • Extreme weather conditions can be conducive to over/under-inflation- ensure that you use the PSI gauge mounted on the Wave pump to monitor your pressure periodically

  • Board maintenance is necessary for ensuring the longevity of your board – avoid packing away damp and avoid any use of harsh chemicals

  • Arepair kit including a PVC patch, adhesive, and valve wrench is provided – you may need to utilize
these in case of damage. We recommend carrying your repair kit in the cargo luggage in case ofpotential air leaks. When tightening your SUP valve, first ensure the board is fully deflated, turning the valve clockwise until you can push no further and are confident that it is secured.

  • In the event that any water was to enter the body of your SUP-remove the valve via the wrench provided and ensure your board is fully drained to prevent the possiblity of structural damage.
