REVLON RVDR5036EME Volume Booster Hair Dryer
OVERVIEW
Operating Instructions
This appliance is intended for household use only. Revlon® anti-static dryers are designed for safety and performance. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature. For U.S. residents only: In the event of immersion, the protective device will not allow the appliance to operate. Periodically check the safety plug to verify that it is in proper working order. Simply place the plug into the outlet and press the TEST button. The appliance should immediately stop. To resume operating the appliance, press the RESET button. In the event the TEST button does not work properly, return the appliance to the manufacturer.
IONIC TECHNOLOGY®
Negative ions help maintain a neutral charge on the hair’s surface, leaving it
looking conditioned and smooth while helping reduce frizz and static for
healthy, shiny hair.
STYLING TIPS
- Always towel-dry hair to remove excess water.
- Set the dryer at the highest heat and speed settings and circulate the airflow through your hair. DO NOT concentrate airflow on any one area for an extended period of time.
- When hair is almost dry, lower heat and speed to style.
- Push the Cold Shot Button to set the style with cold air once you’ve achieved the desired style.
- Store your Revlon® dryer on its practical Hanging Ring. This will prevent the cord from tangling and wearing prematurely.
SMOOTHING CONCENTRATOR
By concentrating the airflow, individual sections of the hair can be styled at a time. To attach, simply press the concentrator into air outlet until it snaps into place. To remove, allow dryer and attachment to cool, then gently pull it away from dryer.
VOLUMIZING DIFFUSER
The Volumizing Diffuser will soften the airflow from the hair dryer to give you voluminous defined curls. To use, push the diffuser onto the end of the airflow nozzle. Place a section of your curls into the fingers of the diffuser and move gently over the scalp while drying. To clean, remove it from the dryer and wash it in warm, soapy water and rinse. Allow diffuser to dry completely before reattaching to dryer.
REMOVABLE END CAP
- To remove end cap, make sure unit is unplugged, then grasp sides firmly, squeeze and pull end cap gently away from dryer.
- Dust off the end cap.
- The end cap may be washed but must be dried completely before returning it to the dryer.
- To replace end cap, insert its locking tab into the notch on rear of dryer, then insert its alignment peg into groove on top of dryer. Push end cap firmly into place.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is equipped with a thermostat that may cycle OFF or cause the heaters to turn off if the temperature exceeds comfort level due to partially blocked air inlet or outlet openings. In the event that the appliance stops or releases only cool air during use, turn off the switches and allow the appliance to cool down, at which time the thermostat will automatically reset. During use, DO NOT block the air openings. When using this appliance near water (e.g. bathrooms), the use of an electrical outlet protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter is recommended.
Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. NO lubrication is needed. Keep
heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If cleaning
becomes necessary, unplug the appliance from the power source and wipe the
exterior with a damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist prior to use.
Cleaning Instructions
Dust and lint can be removed from air intake openings with a small brush or
vacuum cleaner brush attachment. DO NOT allow moisture or additional debris to
enter the unit while cleaning.
WARNING: If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair it. This appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance when not in use. Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle cord carefully for longer life and avoid jerking, bending sharply, twisting, or straining cord, especially at plug connections.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
- NEVER wrap the power cord around the appliance. Any pulling, twisting, severe folding or bending can damage the cord, especially at the point of entry into the unit, which may rupture the cord and can cause an electrical short or other failure.
- Regularly inspect the cord. DO NOT use an appliance with a twisted, bent or otherwise damaged cord, or if the appliance receives power irregularly. If cord is damaged, or for irregular power issues, refer to instructions in the WARNING section further below
STORAGE
Appliance should be disconnected and allowed to cool before storage. DO NOT apply stress or tension to the cord’s point of entry into the unit. During storage, cord should remain loose with no tight bends or folds, and appliance should be placed in a secure, dry location out of reach of children. For further details, refer to the STORAGE section of the Operating Instructions. When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
DANGER: As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO CONSUMERS
THIS MESSAGE ABOUT IF YOU MUST USE YOUR HAIR DRYER IN THE BATHROOM, INSTALL A
GFCI NOW! A GFCI CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE! COMPARED TO THAT, THE PRICE IS SMALL!
DON’T WAIT… INSTALL ONE NOW! CAN SAVE A LIFE GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTERS
STOP
Your local electrician can help you decide which type is best for you: a
portable unit that plugs into the electrical outlet or a permanent unit
installed by your electrician. The National Electrical Code now requires a
GFCI in the bathroom, garages and outdoor outlets of all new homes. WHY DO YOU
NEED A GFCI? Electricity and water don’t mix. If your hair dryer falls in
water while it’s plugged in, the electric shock can kill you… even if the
switch is “off.” A regular fuse or circuit breaker won’t protect you under
these circumstances. A GFCI offers you far greater protection. GFCI (Ground
Fault Circuit Interrupter) is a sensitive device which reacts immediately to a
small electric current leak by stopping
