Introduction

The amFilm Premium Glass Screen Protectors are composed of high-quality tempered glass and are custom-fit to your Nintendo Switch. With 99.9% screen transparency and fingerprint/smudge reduction, these Glass Protectors deliver an ultra-clear, natural viewing experience. They’re also exceptionally tough, with a surface hardness of 9H that protects against scratches, chipping, drops, and other signs of wear. These very durable (.33mm thin) screen protectors will not interfere with your Switch’s screen sensitivity, ensuring an ideal user experience. The ultra-thin 0.3mm thickness ensures reliability and durability, as well as complete touchscreen compatibility. Frequently Asked Questions

  • One concern I always have is getting bubbles in the screen protector. Is it really free of bubbles?
I was pleasantly surprised with the protector that I ordered. I actually applied it without the steam method, and was bubble free within 30 seconds. The nice thing about this protector is that it has extra tabs on the side to hold onto (instead of the glass) when applying, so you can literally drop it straight onto the Switch. I thoroughly cleaned my screen, peeled off the backing for the protector, dropped it straight on, and as the glass settled onto the Switch, probably 90% of the bubbles worked their own way out. I used the plastic tool in the kit to work the last two or three out, but had this one on and bubble free MUCH faster than I’ve done with any other protectors in the past.

  • So i know the official hori screen protector peels off when the switch gets too warm, do this have the same issue?
I have used this on my system since I got the Switch. I have never had any issues with bubbling. This includes well over 1500 hours put into Animal Crossing, mostly in handheld mode (it’s been a long quarantine) and way too many hours to count into other games I only play in docked mode. I just had to order new ones because I dropped my Switch and it landed on the side of a chair and shattered the protector. System is fine. I did not dock right away after adhering it to the system, though I did play in handheld mode after.

  • Will the screen protector interfere with being able to dock the Switch?
It doesn’t with mine. I think the manufacturing of the docks is inconsistent. There have been numerous cases of people stating their dock is scratching their Switch screen, but mine doesn’t even rub it the wrong way. I think it depends on your dock and if it allows enough room or not. But a tight fit is better than scratches on your screen, and since the hardness of this screen protector is 9, the dock shouldn’t be able to scratch it.

  • How do you take the screen off? What materials does it need?
Just peeled it off from the screen then wiped it down to clean it up.

  • Do you have an update if you will receive this early? I’d like to have when the switch is released.
They said that they were hoping to get the screen protectors early to send them out before launch but most likely we aren’t getting them before or by launch but a few days after it seems.

  • How long after applying the screen protector do I have to wait before I dock it?
You don’t have to wait. But it won’t hurt you to wait, either. So maybe just wait overnight? I put mine into the dock within 5 minutes of putting the protector on.

  • Is this protector easy to remove?
Mine was on for 3 months before I needed to remove it. I had no issues removing it. But I never had issues with it coming off inadvertently either. Great product.

  • What is the percentage tor light penetration ratio?
I have the same brand on my IPhone 7. I can’t tell any difference. It is also nice and slippery, which is great for multi-touch. I haven’t had a reason to change it either since the phone came out. Also I have the back protected with an otterbox and the front with this and remember it is in my pocket a lot with keys and other stuff and doesn’t have a scratch on it. Hope it helps.

  • Can you clean the sticky side of the screen protector?
This particular one I cannot say, but generally speaking you can with a clean the sticky side with a paper lint roller.

  • Does this cover edge to edge?
Yes, it covers all the way to the edges of the screen.

  • Why does it say 2017?
Probably to specify that the screen is for the 2017 version of the switch, just in case Nintendo releases a new version in the future.

  • Is there something I can do if there are still bubbles after installing?
This rarely happens but if it does you can use a small card (which comes inside the box) to slide the bubbles outside or just use a bank card if you want.

  • Can anyone confirm if this puts more stress on the back of the switch when putting it in the dock? (Scratching the back instead of the glass)
I’ve been docking, undocking and redocking this thing willy nilly, and the back of my console is not scratched at all… Not pristine because I’ve been playing it in tablet mode and fingers tend to smudge, but no scuffing.

  • if i ever want to take this off will it leave residue? and if so, how do you take the residue off?
The glass should lift off clean. I don’t think it will leave any residue but should it a damp cloth with rubbing alcohol should take it right.

  • does this work for the new v2 switch?
I have the new V2 switch and it does work

  • Does it have anti glare?
Reflection…. yes, but when tilted towards the window and the sun hitting it, the picture still looked good. So far I’m impressed.

  • Will the screen protector be to thick to Dock the Switch? Or give trouble putting it in place?
Not at all! You can still dock your switch with the screen protector on.

  • I’ve seen in a lot of YouTube reviews that the dock actually scratches the screen. Will this be enough to protect it from that?
Has not been an issue with my switch. With or without the screen protector, if you are not careful putting the switch into its dock you can scratch it. I have had no issues with the dock scratching the screen or protector. If you travel with the switch the screen protector is a good idea
