SAFETY

  • By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer can not be hold responsible for the damage.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make sure the cord cannot become entangled.
  • To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any other liquid.
  • The appliance must be placed on a stable, level surface.
  •  The user must not leave the device unattended while it is connected to the supply.
  • This appliance is only to be used for household purposes and only for the purpose it is made for.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • This appliance shall not be used by children aged less than 8 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless older than 8 and supervised.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  • Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.
  • Place the device on a flat stable surface and ensure a minimum of 10 cm. free space around the device. This device is not suitable for installation in a cabinet or for outside use.
  • Put the power cable into the socket. (Note: Make sure the voltage which is indicated on the device matches the local voltage before connecting the device. Voltage 220V-240V 50/60Hz)
  • Before cooking with the appliance for the first time, turn the appliance on without food for at least 10 minutes until no odor or smoke is present. Ensure the room is well ventilated.
  • When the device is turned on for the first time, a slight odour will occur. This is normal, ensure adequate ventilation. This fragrance is only temporary and will disappear soon.

Connecting the grill

  • Connect the power cord to the power inlet on the grill.
  • Plug the power cord into a wall socket to turn the grill on. Put the switch to on position.
  •  Turn the switch to off and unplug the power cord from the wall socket to turn the grill off.

Interconnecting multiple grills
You can connect up to 5 grills together (of the same brand and model) to accommodate more guests (e.g. for family gatherings or hosting parties).
Use the interconnection cord provided to interconnect 2 grills.

Warning!

  • Do not connect more than 5 grills together, as this will blow the appliance’s internal fuse.
  • To avoid a circuit overload, ensure that the wall socket’s electrical circuit can support the total rated power (watts) of the number of grills connected for simultaneous use.
  • Do not plug other appliances into the same socket using an adapter or operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.
  1. First, connect the power cord to the power inlet of the 1st grill (leader).
  2. Next, connect the interconnection cord to the power outlet of the 1st grill (leader).
  3. Connect the other end of the interconnection cord to the power inlet of the 2nd grill (follower) to connect the appliances together.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to connect the 3rd grill (follower) to the 2nd grill, and so on as suitable.
  5. Position the grills in a straight line, keeping a minimum distance of 30 cm between each grill.
  6. Plug the power cord of the 1st grill (leader) into the wall socket to and put the switches to on position to turn all the interconnected grills on.

USE
This appliance allows you to grill your favorite meats and vegetables on the top level, and melt cheese or cook appetizers on the lower level with the raclette pans.

  • Lightly brush the top of the grill plate and raclette pans with cooking oil before grilling.

  • Attach the grill plate to the top of the appliance, and place the raclette pans on the keep warm trays.

  • Allow the appliance and accessories to preheat for 5 to 8 minutes.

  • To grill, place your food directly on the grill plate and cook until done.
    Use the grill plate to grill foods that take longer to cook (e.g. beef (thin), chicken (thin), bacon, vegetables and seafood).

  • Carefully wipe off excess grease from the grill plate when required.
    CAUTION! Wear oven gloves for this task to avoid burns.

  • Use wooden, bamboo or silicone tongs or spatulas to handle food.

  • Remove the raclette pans and fill them with easy-to-cook food (e.g. cheese, egg). Avoid overfilling the raclette pans.

  • Place the filled raclette pans on the grilling trays to start cooking.

  • Remove the raclette pans once they are ready, and transfer the food to your plate.

  • You can place the raclette pans on the keep warm trays for a few minutes to keep the food warm (40 – 60 °C).

  • Once you have finished using the appliance, unplug the power cord of the grill or 1st grill (leader) from the wall socket to turn the appliance(s) off. Remove the interconnection cord from each grill if used.

  • Allow the appliance(s) and accessories to cool down completely before cleaning.

DANGER OF BURNS! During cooking, never insert your hands under the grill plate to avoid touching the heating element and prevent serious burns. Do not touch hot metal surfaces. Always use the plastic handles or buttons. Use oven gloves or pot holders if necessary.

WARNING! Never leave the appliance(s) plugged into the wall socket when it is not in use.
Grilling tips

  • Avoid leaving cooked foods on the grill for too long to prevent overcooking or drying out the food.
  • Do not use metal or sharp utensils on the grill plate or raclette pans to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. Never cut foods on the grill plate.
  • Use wooden, bamboo or silicone utensils. Do not rest the utensils on the appliance.

RISK OF THERMAL SHOCK! Never place frozen foods on the grill plate or raclette pans.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Always unplug the appliance from the wall socket and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
WARNING! To protect against fire, electric shock or injury, do not immerse the power cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquids, as they contain electrical components. Never rinse them under the tap or expose them to dripping or splashing water. Keep all electrical parts dry.
NOTE: Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the appliance. Use mild liquid dish detergent.

  • Always turn the on/off switch on the device to off position and remove the power cord from the appliance.

  • Remove the grill plate and raclette pans from the appliance and wash them in warm soapy water with a soft sponge or cloth. To remove stubborn food residue, soak the grill plate/raclette pans for a few minutes before cleaning. Rinse well and allow to dry.

  • Wipe the surfaces of the appliance with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water. To remove stubborn stains, wipe the appliance with a soft cloth lightly moistened with warm soapy water. Dry the appliance thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth after cleaning.

  • Allow all parts to dry completely.

  • Store the appliance in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children.
    Replacing the internal fuse
    The appliance is fitted with an internal fuse (10 A) that is replaceable.

  • If the internal fuse blows, unplug the appliance from the wall socket.
    Diagnose the cause and rectify it (e.g. more than 5 grills interconnected, circuit overload), or consult a qualified electrician.

  • Remove the blown fuse fitted under the appliance and replace it with a certified BS 1362 fuse of the same rating. Alternatively, take your appliance to an authorized service center to have the fuse replaced by a qualified technician.

This appliance should not be put into the domestic garbage at the end of its durability but must be offered at a central point for the recycling of electric and electronic domestic appliances.
