Set Host Card to Host mode x16
- Check dipswitches are set to Host mode. Refer to the User’s manual for details on the switch setting
Install Host Card
- Turn Off the computer. Plugin the card in the x16 slot. Plugin the second host card (applicable to 4UV-10 Slot and 16 Slot units).
Connect I pass Cables to Target Card
- Connect the x16 I pass cable to Target. If you have 4UV-10 or 16 slot units, plugin the second Ipass cable to the second target card.
Connect I pass Cables To Host Card
- Connect the other end of the cable to the Host card. If you have another host card, plugin the other end of the cable to the 2nd Host card.
Connect Power Cables
- Connect all available power cables/cords to the power supplies.
Power UP Computer
- Connect power cable (s) to the computer. Press the power button to power up.
Power Supply and Front LEDs
Upon powering up the host, the expansion unit will instantly power Up. The two power supply LEDs and the two front LEDs will illuminate as solid green.
Verify Host and Target Card Link LEDs
- Verify and check that there is a stable link between Host and Target cards. Both cards will illuminate the following LEDs: CBL, EDG & PWR.
Unit is Ready
- The unit is now ready to use. To install your PCIe card, please shut down the expansion unit and computer completely. Disconnect power cables from the expansion unit. Plugin your preferred PCIe cards in the downstream slots and secure them. Reconnect power cables to the expansion unit. Turn ON the computer. The expansion unit will power UP. Please refer to the manual for more details.
Set Host Card to Host mode x16
- Check dipswitches are set to Host mode. Refer to the User’s manual for details on the switch setting.
Install Host Card
- Turn Off the computer. Plugin the card in the x16 slot. Plugin the second host card (applicable to 4UV-10 Slot and 16 Slot units).
Connect Link Cables to Target Card
- Connect all four SFF-8644 Cables to Target. If you have 4UV-10 or 16 slot units, plugin the second set of link cables to the second target card.
Connect Link Cables To Host Card
- Connect the other end of the cables to the Host card. If you have another host card, plug in the other end of link cables to the 2nd Host card.
- The cable diagram below shows how to connect all four SFF-8644 cables between Host and Target cards.
Connect Power Cables
- Connect all available power cables/cords to the power supplies.
Power UP Computer
- Connect power cable (s) to the computer. Press the power button to power up.
The power Supply and Front LEDs will illuminate
- Upon powering up the host, the expansion unit will instantly power Up. The two power supply LEDs and the two front LEDs will lit as solid green.
Verify Host and Target Card Link LEDs
- Verify and check that there is a stable link between Host and Target cards. Both cards will illuminate the following LEDs when linked @ x16.
Unit is Ready
- The unit is now ready to use. To install your PCIe, please shut down the expansion unit and computer completely. Disconnect power cables from the expansion unit. Plug in your preferred PCIe cards in the downstream slots and secure them. Reconnect power cables to the expansion unit. Turn ON the computer. The expansion unit will power UP.
