BASIC OPERATION

BASIC OPERATION

  • Long-press [Power] key to turn on/off radio.

  • Press and hold [PTT] key to transmit, release to stop transmitting.

  • Press [CH +] or [CH -] to switch channels up or down.

  • While in standby mode or monitor mode, press [Vol +] or [Vol -] to increase or decrease volume.

  • While in standby mode, short press [Power] key to enter function mode, screen displays “F”

  • While in function mode, press [Power] key to enter monitor mode. Screen will display “No”. Press [Power] again to exit monitor mode.

  • While in function mode, press [CH +] or [CH -] to enter scan mode in either forward or reverse direction. Press [Power] again to end scan mode. While scanning, radio will scan all pre-determined channels for scan mode as set by radio programmer. When a signal is received, the radio will pause scanning and hold on the active channel until 1 second after signal is lost, then will resume scan mode.
    While scanning, pressing [PTT] while a signal is being received will transmit signal on the currently active channel Pressing [PTT] while a signal is not being received will transmit on the last channel selected before entering scan mode. Scanning will resume 3 seconds after transmitting ends.

  • While in function mode, if keypad is unlocked, pressing [Vol +] will lock the keypad.

  • While in function mode, if keypad is locked, pressing [Vol -] will unlock the keypad.

INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

  • Use of transceiver without antenna properly installed poses a risk of electric shock.
  • Do not use transceiver in the proximity of explosive substances or compounds.
  • Turn off transceiver in proximity of fuel stations or when refueling.
  • Do not expose transceiver to prolonged direct sunlight or intense heat.
  • Do not use transceiver in excessively dusty, damp, or wet environments.
  • Transceiver repairs should only be completed by an authorized repair technician.
  • If the transceiver emits a burning smell or visible smoke, turn off the transceiver immediately, remove the battery pack, and then contact your supplier.

  • This transceiver is designed and classified as “Occupational Use Only.” It should be used only in situations in which persons are exposed as a consequence of their employment provided those persons are fully aware of the potential for exposure and can exercise control over their exposure.
  • This radio complies with IEEE and ICNIRP exposure limits for occupational/controlled RF exposure environments at operating duty factors of up to 50% and is authorized by the FCC for occupational use only.
  • Users must maintain a minimum distance of 2.5cm when held to face, and body-worn operations are restricted to the approved original accessories (belt clip)
