ASSEMBLING YOUR FUCARE FOR THE FIRST TIME

WARNING

  • Please do not hold the brake levers before assembling the front wheel.
  • When installing the fenders, please keep the eBike balanced.

How to assemble the fender

  1. Locate the fender and headlight mounting hardware in the front fork arch
  2. Pass the fender from the back of the front wheel, under the fork arch.
  3. Install the fender/ headlight mounting hardware through the headlight bracket, fender, and fork.
  4. Plug in the headlight connector. Line up the internal notch and pins and external arrows, and press directly together without twisting.
  5. Check that the fender and headlight are centered, then torque the fender, and adjust the headlight angle slightly down so it will not blind oncoming traffic.
  6. Remove the two mounting bolts on the fork lowers by turning them counter-clockwise to loosen.
  7. Pass the bolts through the eyelets on the ends of the mounting arms, and re-attach them to the fork. Turn them counterclockwise to tighten.

WARNING

  • If you are uncertain about any of the following instructions, or unfamiliar with bicycles or bicycle assembly,
  • Please take your eBike and this manual to your local bike shop and have the assembly performed by a qualified bicycle mechanic. Failure to properly assemble your eBike could cause one or more parts of the bike to fail or to operate incorrectly, which could result in your injury or death.
  • Install the wheel securely. A loose or detached wheel can cause you to lose control of your Fu care and fall and could cause you serious injury or death.

How to assemble the front wheel

  1. Remove the shipping spacer, bolt and nut from the front wheel and fork.
  2. Remove the hydraulic brake pad spacer from the brake caliper on the front wheel.

NOTICE: If the front wheel is not installed or if the hydraulic brake pad spacer is missing, do NOT squeeze the brake levers.

  1. Check that the wheel is fully seated in the dropouts, that the wheel axle is level and parallel to the ground, and that the wheel is centered.
  2. Make sure that the disc brake is well placed in the middle of the brake caliper.
  3. Hold the quick-release lever in line with the axle and tighten the thumbnut until the lever can stay parallel to the floor without being held. Use the palm of your hand to close the lever fully, without touching the brake rotor. The quick-release lever secures the front wheel to the bike, so it’s important that the thumbnut is tight enough that the closed lever has the adequate clamping force to keep the axle and wheel firmly in place. When you close the lever, there should be enough resistance that it leaves an imprint in your hand.

WARNING: Please lock the screws after adjusting the angle of the handlebar.

How to assemble the handlebars

  1. Point the headset towards the front of the bike
  2. Remove 4 screws on the handlebar.
  3. Orient the handlebar properly. The brake levers should face forwa rd and the shifter should be on the right side. Trace the brake housing from the left brake lever to the brake caliper and make sure the bundle of cables is not twisted.
  4. Center the handlebar on the stem. Place the handlebar into position on the stem so it’s centered and so that the handlebar grips will be approximately parallel to the ground when the front wheel is installed. (You can fine-tune the positioning later.) Stem faceplate installation.
  5. Install the stem faceplate. Place the stem faceplate ove r the handlebar, and thread in the four bolts by hand. If needed, rotate the UI Display to access the faceplate bolts.
  6. Then use an Allen wrench to tighten the bolts evenly, by moving in an”X” pattern. Ensure the gap between the faceplate and stem is even.

WARNING: Do not try to install the wrong pedal into the crank, as it will strip the crank threads. Always check that the pedals are securely tightened before riding.

How to assemble the pedals

  1. Take out the pedals from the tool kits. There should be an “L” marked on the left pedal and an “R” on the right pedal.
  2. Each pedal can only be installed on the corresponding side of the bike, as they thread in opposite directions. The right pedal threads clockwise and the. The left pedal threads on it counter-clockwise.
  3. The pedals should be easily turned into the crank, if it’s hard to in stall, please check the screw threads on the pedals and crank. Fucare will not cover the warranty if defects happen by mis-assembly.
  4. Use a wrench to tighten the pedals.

WARNING: A loose seat clamp or seat adjustment bolt can cause loss of control, bike/property damage, serious injury, or death. Prior to first use, be sure to tighten the seat clamp via the seat adjustment bolt properly. Regularly check to make sure that the seat adjustment bolt is properly tightened and the clamp is secure on the seat rails.

How to assemble the saddle

  1. Open the seat post quick release lever.
  2. Insert the seat post into the seat tube to a sufficient depth so that the minimum insertion line is no longer showing.
  3. When you are satisfied with the height of the seat post close the Seatpost quick-release lever. The tightness of the lever is adjusted by rotating the adjustment nut opposite the quick release lever. Turn the nut by hand to adjust the tension while holding the lever stable.
  4. The lever is securely tightened when it leaves an imprint on the palm of your hand from pushing it closed.
  5. Once the lever is securely closed, you should not be able to move it unless you open it again. If you can move the seat up and down or side to side with the quick release lever in the closed position, repeat the Seatpost installation process from step 3. Repeat until the seat cannot be moved when the quick release lever is closed.
  6. If you have adjusted the nut too tightly and cannot push the lever to the “close” position, open the quick release lever again and turn the adjusting nut 1 /4 turn counterclockwise. Continue with Step 3. 14

YOUR FIRST RIDE

To use your electric bike

  1. Read the entirety of this manual before taking your first ride. Especially the Safety, Folding and Unfolding the Bike, Preparing to Ride, and Operating Safety sections. The page number of these sections can be found by referring to the table of contents at the beginning of this manual.
  2. Check that the tire and the tire bead are seated just inside the rim. Inflate your bike tires to a pressure that is within the recommended range printed on the side of the bike tire sidewalls. When inflating, gradually inflate in 5-1 0PSI increments while checking to make sure the tire bead is fully seated on the rim. If you notice the tire bead is not fully seated at any point during inflation, deflate the tire completely and reseat the tire bead before reinflating.
  3. Check your seat post clamp. Unlatch the quick releases and tighten by turning the bolt clockwise. The page number of this section can be found by referring to the table of contents at the beginning of this manual.
  4. Ensure both your seat post and handlebar stem are inserted past their minimum insertion points as indicated by the markings on them. Reference the Preparing to Ride section of this manual for photos and complete instructions.
