Haier IT9001 Cooker Hood
SAFETY PRECAUTION

Important! Always switch off the electricity supply at the mains during installation and maintenance such as light bulb replacement.

The cooker hood must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions and all measurements followed.

All installation work must be carried out by a competent person or qualified electrician.

Please dispose of the packing material carefully. Children are vulnerable to it.
-
Pay attention to the sharp edges inside the cooker hood especially during installation and cleaning.
-
When installing the cooker hood, make sure that the following recommended distances between the top of cooker and the lowest part of the cooker hood are observed:
- Gas cookers: 70 cm
- Electric cookers: 70 cm
- Coal or oil cookers: 80 cm

Make sure the ducting has no bends sharper than 90 degrees as this will reduce the efficiency of the cooker hood.

Cooker hood is for domestic use only.

Always put lids on pots and pans when cooking on a gas cooker.

Do not try to use the cooker hood without the grease filters or if the filters are excessively greasy!

When in extraction mode, air in the room is being removed by the cooker hood. Please make sure that proper ventilation measures are being observed. The cooker hood removes odours from room but not steam.

There shall be adequate ventilation of the room when the range hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels.

Do not install above a cooker with a high level grill.

Do not leave frying pans unattended during use because overheated fats or oils might catch fire.
-
Never leave naked flames under the cooker hood.
-
If the cooker hood is damaged, do not attempt to use.
-
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Caution: The appliance and its accessible parts can become hot during operation. Be careful to avoid touching the heating elements. Children younger than 8 years old should stay away unless they are under permanent supervision.

There shall be adequate ventilation of the room when the range hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels.

There is a fire risk if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the instructions.

Do not flambé under the cooker hood.

CAUTION: Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.

The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood.
(When the range hood is located above a gas appliance, this distance shall be at least 70cm.) -
Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled.

Clean your appliance periodically by following the method given in the chapter MAINTENANCE.

Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards
Regarding the instructions method of fixing for the fixed appliance and how the appliance is to be fixed to its support, thanks to refer to the section “INSTALLATION”. The bulbs are not replaceable. The plug must be remained easily accessible after installation of the appliance.

Using your Range hood (IT9001)
For best performance, you should switch on the range hood few minutes before starting to cook and leave it to run for approximately 15 minutes after the end of cooking.

To switch the extractor light on or off:
Press button C. -
To switch on the extractor or change the motor speed at any time when the extractor is running
Press the relevant speed button (B) for the first, second speed as required. -
To switch the extractor off:
Press button A.

Using your Range hood (IT9002)
For best performance, you should switch on the range hood few minutes before starting to cook and leave it to run for approximately 15 minutes after the end of cooking.

To switch on the extractor or to change the speed at any time when the extractor is running:
Touch the relevant key “B” for the first, second or third speed level as required. -
To switch the extractor light on or off:
Touch key “A”. -
To switch the extractor off:
Touch key “C” twice. -
To activate the “Timer” mode:
Touch key “C” once when the extractor is already running. This will set the extractor to run for a further 3 minutes before automatically stopping..

Filter Cleaning
IMPORTANT : DO NOT PERFORM MAINTENANCE OR CLEANING OF THE RANGE HOOD WITHOUT FIRST SWITCHING OFF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.

Oil Collector
When the oil reaches maximum marked position on oil collector, clear the oil in time in case of overflow. As Fig. 2-1, pull out the oil collector horizontally to remove it. -
Filter Cleaning
- Remove the screws to remove the filter. (Fig 2-2)
- Use warm water with detergent to steep the filter for some time later, use rag to scrub the filter. Then rinse it again by clean water.
- Clean filter surface after every use. Clean filter internal every week.

Fan Cleaning
- Remove oil collector. Remove screws. Then remove main body from the hanging bracket.
- Remove screws from the body back to remove the chimney. (Fig. 2-3)
- Remove the main body cover. Remove the air collector. Clockwisely rotate tighten nut, remove the fan. (Fig. 2-5)
- During fan cleaning, do not impact or throw away balance weight clamps in case of reflect the fan dynamic balance to cause unit vibration and higher noise level.
- Clean the fan every three month.
Changing the Light
NOTE: LED lights replacement must be done by a qualified electrician.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT PERFORM MAINTENANCE OR CLEANING OF THE EXTRACTOR
WITHOUT FIRST SWITCHING OFF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.
Replace LED light
- Check with your local retailer or dealer to buy new same LED lights for replacement.
- Remove the lamp buy flat-head screwdriver. Pull out the lamp. Unplug the lamp wire connector (Fig. 3).
- Plug wire connector with new lamp. Put the new lamp into lamp holder. Push the LED lamp into the hole with sound of snap.
- The light is designed for use during cooking and not for general room illumination. Extended use of the light can reduce the life span of the lights. Lights replacement is not covered by the guarantee.

Troubleshooting
Please note:
Your Range hood is equipped with a motor protection device that will switch
off the motor to prevent damage from overheating. This may happen during
cooking when most or all of the zones/burners are being used simultaneously,
or if your Range hood is installed incorrectly, lower than the recommended
height. This is normal, and the extractor will work again once the motor has
cooled sufficiently.
GUARANTEE
Your new product is guaranteed against defects in materials and/or workmanship. Any parts found to be defective will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. All repairs must be carried out by an authorised Repair Agent. Your Range hood comes with a 1 year parts and labour guarantee.
THIS GUARANTEE IS VALID PROVIDING THAT :
- The appliance has been installed by a suitably qualified person
- Installation has been carried out in accordance with instructions and current legislation
- Proof of purchase can be produced
- The appliance has been used for domestic purposes only
- The appliance has not been tampered with or repair attempted or modified by any unauthorised person
THIS GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER :
- Damage by misuse, neglect or transit
- Use of parts that have not been recommended
- Routine maintenance, general wear & tear and installation faults
- Rubber seals, removable glass and/or plastic parts, fuses or light bulbs which all need replacing periodically
- Second-hand or reconditioned appliances
- Appliances used for commercial or professional purposes
This guarantee does not in any way affect your statutory legal rights
Mounting your Range hood
- When the Range hood is to be installed above an electric hob, the minimum distance between the hob and Range hood must exceed 650mm.
- When the Range hood is to be installed above a gas hob, the minimum distance between the hob and Range hood must exceed 700mm.
- If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into account.
- The height should be measured from the top of the burners
Ducting and Ventilation
For best performance and lowest noise output, we recommend the use of 160mm
ducting.
INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING: ONLY USE THE SCREWS PROVIDED WITH THE RANGE HOOD TO MOUNT THE DUCTING ADAPTOR. THE USE OF LONGER SCREWS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INTERNAL WIRING WHICH WILL NOT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.
Information for cooker hood

- Install the cooker hood in a proper place where there is efficient ventilation.
- Clean the cooker hood regularly so as not to block the airway.
- Remember to switch off the cooker hood light after cooking.
- Remember to switch off the cooker hood after cooking.
Information for dismantling
Do not dismantle the appliance in a way which is not shown in the user manual.
The appliance could not be dismantled by user. At the end of life, the
appliance should not be disposed of with household waste. Check with you Local
Authority or retainer for recycling advice.
