General Safety Instructions

If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions. The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.  When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug
itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories. Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket. The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used. Use only original spare parts.  In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc out of their reach.

Risk of burns
During operation and afterwards, the temperature of the accessible surfaces will be very high. Use the handles to grip the cover and egg holder. Hot steam will escape from the steam vents and when opening the cover.

Risk of scalding
WARNING
Please be careful when handling the measuring beaker as it has a pointed spike underneath.

Danger of injury

CAUTION

  • Please ensure that the cable does not come into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
  • Never turn on the egg cooker on without water.
  • Use only cold water when filling.
  • Do not allow decalcification agents to come into contact with the hot plate.
  • Use the appliance only on a level work surface.
  • Do not move the device and do not touch it when it is working.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance understand the hazards involved.
  • Cleaning and maintenance by the user shall not be made by children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician.
  • To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
  • Only use the appliance in a dry, indoor area.
  • It is intended for domestic use and similar areas of use such as e.g.
  • In staff kitchens in shops, offices and other commercial areas.
  • It is not intended for use in farm accommodation, hotels, motels or Bed & Breakfast establishments.

First Use of the Machine

Take out all the parts carefully out of the packing. Save the packing and the inner packing material for the whole duration of the warranty. Clean the device before using it for the first time as described in Cleaning and Storage. For protection, a silicone cover is fixed over the pin on the bottom of the measuring jug. In order to avoid injury, we recommend that the silicone cover is replaced after use.

Electric Connection

Ensure that your mains power corresponds to the appliance’ specifications on the type label.

Operation

  1. Place the device horizontally on a flat, dry surface.
  2. It should be slip-resistant and heat-resistant.
  3. Fill the cooking bowl with the amount of water signaled on the measuring beaker for the number of eggs to be boiled.

NOTE
As the degree of cooking depends on several factors, it is advisable in the case of large (egg sizes L and XL) or cold eggs to use slightly more water. If the eggs are too hard, please pour slightly less water than stated in the cooking bowl, or slightly more if the eggs are too soft.  The markings on the beaker have the following meaning

  • Soft / weich / mollet for soft boiled eggs
  • The individual lines above the words show the number of eggs (1-6) medium / mittel between hard and soft-boiled
  • The individual lines above the words show the number of eggs (1-6) hard / hart / dur for hard-boiled eggs.
  • The individual lines above the words show the number of eggs (1-6) Insert the egg tray.
  • Pierce the eggs on the bottom to avoid that they crack.
  • Please use the pricker on the underside of the measuring beaker.
  • Press the egg delicately against the piercing needle until the egg is pierced.
  • Distribute the eggs evenly and one opposite the other in the egg tray.
  • Cover it with the lid.
  • Insert the plug in a duly installed socket.
  • Turn the device on using the on/off switch.
  • The control lamp now illuminates.
  • The eggs are ready when the buzzer sounds.
  • Switch the device off and remove the mains plug from the socket.
  • Grab the lid by the handles and set it aside.

WARNING
When opening the lid, tilt it so that the steam may escape on the sides opposing the handles. Take the egg tray out of the cooking bowl and run the eggs briefly under cold water so that they do not continue cooking. Leave the device to cool before putting it away!

Cleaning and Storage

WARNING
Turn the appliance off and disconnect from mains power  supply.  Clean and store the appliance only after it completely cooled down.

Risk of burns
Never submerge the appliance in water.

CAUTION

  • Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive utensils for cleaning.
  • Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
  • Remove the remaining water inside the egg boiler with a cloth. In this way you also remove scale residue.
  • Clean the surface with a damp cloth without cleaning agents, if necessary.
  • Clean hood and egg holder in dishwater.

Decalcification
The decalcification intervals depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified. Do not use vinegar, but a normal citric acid-based decalcifier. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions.

Your dealer and contractual partner is also obliged to take back the old appliance free of charge.
