  • Liner Type: Beaded / EZ Clip Liners
  • Size: 54 pools
  • Manufacturer: HII

Product Usage Instructions

Pool Cove Installation

  1. Refer to the diagram provided for revised dimensions specific to 54 pools.
  2. Increase the size of the pool cove as per the revised dimensions to aid in the installation of the beaded / EZ clip liner.
  3. Shape and compact damp earth to form a cove around the inside base of the pool wall.

Liner Installation

  • Ensure the liner’s bottom edge seam is an equal distance from the pool wall around the entire pool before adding water.
  • Make necessary liner adjustments around the top of the liner to ensure even tension all around and centre the floor of the liner before adding water.
  • Spray the EZ Clip Receiver with a solution of dishwashing liquid and water to help when adjusting the liner.
  • Consider weather conditions during installation – raise the height of the pool floor and cove in cool weather for better results.
  • Install the liner in sunlight to increase its elasticity and improve the final installation results.

INFORMATION

IMPORTANT: NOTICE PLEASE READ

DO NOT ADD MORE THAN 1″ – 2″ OF SAND, DIRT OR FOAM TO THE POOL BOTTOM, REFERENCED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BOTTOM RAIL

TOO MUCH SAND, DIRT OR FOAM WILL CAUSE THE LINER TO HAVE WRINKLES

USING INSTRUCTION

IMPORTANT NOTICE: FOR 54″ POOLS WITH BEADED / EZ CLIP LINERS PLEASE READ
POOL COVE NEEDS TO BE INCREASED IN SIZE FOR 54″ POOLS. REFER TO THE DIAGRAM ON THE LEFT FOR REVISED DIMENSIONS THAT ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE ASSEMBLY GUIDE. THE LARGER COVE WILL AID IN THE INSTALLATION OF THE BEADED / EZ CLIP LINER.

Important Step: The cove is a vital structural element that prevents water pressure from forcing the pool liner out under the bottom rail. The manufacturer will not assume responsibility should the cove be omitted.
EARTH COVE: Use screened damp earth to form a cove around the inside base of the pool wall. Shape and compact firmly.

EZ Clip (Beaded) Liners / Tips & Tricks

HII manufactures oval pools true to size. On oval pools, the measurement between the face of the buttress to the face of the buttress on the straight sides will be a bit smaller, however, the bottom rails between the buttresses are scalloped which increases the total width measurement of the pool.

(It is important to remember to use the Tips & Tricks below in conjunction with the assembly guide included with your pool)

When installing EZ Clip (beaded) liners need to remember the following three important points;

  1. Liner Positioning / Be sure the liner’s bottom edge seam is equal distance to the pool wall completely around the pool before adding water. “Just because you have the liner inserted into the EZ Clip Receiver does not mean that you are ready to add water!!!”
You must take the time to make any necessary liner adjustments both around the top of the liner to ensure that there is even tension around the pool and to be SURE that the floor of the liner is centred (both width and length on ovals) before adding water.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: “Once you have added 2″ of water onto the pool floor…….that is it……no more adjustments can be made.”
(TIP: before inserting the liner into the receiver, spraying the entire receiver with a solution
of dishwashing liquid and water in a spray bottle, will help when adjusting the liner. )

  2. Weather / If attempting to install in cool weather (70 degrees or less) the installer needs to take into serious consideration, the height of the pool floor and the height of the pool cove. If necessary, raising the height of both will increase the level of success of the inner installation in cool weather.

  3. Sunshine / HII liners are manufactured to a much higher quality than competitors, therefore, it is proven to be very helpful during the installation process to have sunshine on the liner. This will increase the elasticity of the liner and will greatly improve the final results of the liner install.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Can I add more than 1-2 of sand, dirt, or foam to the pool bottom?
    • A: No, adding too much sand, dirt, or foam will cause wrinkles in the liner. Stick to 1-2 of these materials as referenced from the bottom of the bottom rail.
  • Q: What is the purpose of the pool cove installation?
    • A: The pool cove is a vital structural element that prevents water pressure from forcing the pool liner out under the bottom rail. Omitting the cove may void manufacturer responsibility.
  • Q: How do I ensure proper liner positioning before adding water?
    • A: Make sure the liner’s bottom edge seam is equidistant from the pool wall around the entire pool. Check for even tension and centering of the floor before adding water.
