Product Overview
Installation
Notes
- You may need to restart your computer during the software installation process. Be sure to save any unsaved material before you install the software.
- If you’re running Windows 7 or any macOS version, ensure the USB video adapter is not connected to your computer until after driver installation.
- If you’re running Windows 7 or any macOS version, download the latest software from the StarTech.com website: http://www.StarTech.com/USB32DP24K60
- Note: If you’re running Windows 8 (or later) proceed to step 5.
- The software will be compressed in a .zip folder. Extract the contents of the folder to a location on your computer that’s easy to access, such as your Desktop or Downloads folder.
- Open the folder that corresponds with your operating system. If you’re running Windows, launch the Setup (exe) file. If you’re running macOS, launch the DisplayLink Installer (dmg) file.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation, and if instructed to do so, restart your computer.
- Connect a DisplayPort cable to each of the adapter’s DisplayPortoutput ports and to your DisplayPort monitors.
- Once your computer has restarted, connect the Integrated USB 3.0 input cable to a USB port on your computer.
Important notes
If connecting multiple USB video adapters or docking stations to a single
computer:
- This USB video adapter uses a DisplayLink family chipset. If you’re connecting this device to a computer along with additional USB video adapters or docking stations, avoid using devices with different family chipsets, such as Trigger or Fresco Logic®.
- To connect multiple USB display adapters to the same computer, you don’t need to install any additional drivers. Repeat steps 5 through 6 for each video adapter.
- You may be prompted to restart your computer after connecting each USB video adapter.
Configure the adapter settings
Video Configuration
Windows
- Right-click on some open space on your desktop and click Screen resolution.
- Click the monitor you want to change the settings on.
- Adjust the screen resolution and orientation as needed.
- Click Apply.
- A Display Settings dialog box will appear confirming your changes. If you’re happy with your configuration click the Keep Changes button.
macOS
- Click Menu.
- Click System Preferences.
- Click Displays.
- To adjust resolution, use the Display tab.
- To adjust the orientation, use the Arrangement tab.
Audio configuration
Audio will only output over DisplayPort when the adapter is initially installed and connected. To play back audio from another audio device instead of DisplayPort, such as your computer speakers, you must manually change the default audio device.
Windows
- Click Start.
- Click Apps.
- Click Windows System.
- Click Control Panel.
- Click Hardware and Sound.
- Click Manage audio devices to select your desired audio device.

- Click Menu.
- Click System Preferences.
- Click Sound.
- Click the Output tab to select your desired audio device.

- 3840×2160 (60Hz), 2560×1600
at 120Hz
- 2560×1440 (120Hz), 2048×1152
at 144Hz
- 1920×1200, 1920×1080, 1600×1200, 1680×1050, 1600×900, 1400×1050, 1440×900, 1366×768, 1360×768, 1280×800, 1280×768, 1280×720
Note: Lower resolutions are also supported at each specified refresh rate.
