Preparations

To be able to integrate Teufel Streaming products with Raumfeld technology in your network and to ensure smooth operation, we recommend an up-to-date, high performance router with a broadband Internet connection.

Make sure that the Wi-Fi router is active, has the latest firmware and is able to access the Internet.

To the extent possible, the router should be positioned in the middle of your home in order to ensure an adequate Wi-Fi signal throughout your home.

Setup

Setup

  • Connect both speakers with the enclosed cable (3).
  • Place the speakers in the desired location. You can freely select whether the active speaker is on the left or right.
  • Use the mains cord (4) to connect the active speaker to the mains supply. Then set the mains switch (20) on the back side of the device to ON.

Getting Started

  • Make sure that your smartphone or tablet is registered in your home Wi-Fi.
  • Have the Wi-Fi password for your router ready.
  • Load the TEUFEL RAUMFELD APP from the Play Store/App Store.
  • Once you have started the app, the setup wizard will guide you through the setup process.
  • You can find more information about setting up your Teufel streaming system at
    http://manual.teufelaudio.com/setup.
The tips in chapter „Troubleshooting“ on page 10 should also be helpful.

Operation

Standby
The Stereo M switches to standby mode after a few minutes of inactivity have elapsed. The timespan leading up to the beginning of the standby mode can be configured in the settings menu within the app. To manually send the device into standby mode, simply hold down the play/pause button (7) for about 2 seconds.

Preset buttons
Your Stereo M have 3 programmable preset buttons (8). They allow you to access your favourite radio station, a playlist or any other music with just the push of a button.

Programming preset buttons

  1. Make sure that the Stereo M are operational.
  2. Use the Teufel Raumfeld app to play any music on your Stereo M (e.g. a radio station, an album, a playlist or all tracks for an artist).
  3. As soon as the music is played back, push a preset button and hold it until you hear a signal tone. The played back music will be saved for this preset button.

Accessing saved content

  • Tap the preset button to access saved music with just the push of a button; it will then play back on the Stereo M.

Control button
Various functions can be assigned to the control button (9) using the Teufel Raumfeld app. For a detailed description of the available functions as well as instructions on how to assign functions to buttons visit:
http://manual.teufelaudio.com/controlbutton.

Spotify Connect

  • Use your phone, tablet or computer as a remote control for Spotify. Go to spotify.com/connect to learn how.

Connecting via Bluetooth®
You can connect compatible devices such as most smartphones and tablets to your Stereo M via Bluetooth® (pairing). The sound of the smart device is then played by the Stereo M.

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth® function on your smart device.
  2. Tap the Bluetooth® pairing button (16) on the back side of the speaker. The Bluetooth® LED in the button will now blink until pairing is complete (no more than 60 seconds).
  3. Let your smartphone search for Bluetooth® devices (you can find more information in the user manual of your smart device). “Teufel Stereo M” should also appear in the list of devices found after the search run.
  4. Select “Teufel Stereo M” from the list of detected devices. If your smart device requires the entry of a PIN code, enter the PIN code “0000” set by factory default.
  5. Pairing is now complete and the smart device is linked to the Stereo M. The Stereo M will now play back all sounds that would otherwise be played by your smart device.
  • To terminate the Bluetooth® connection, switch the Bluetooth® function on your smart device off.

Troubleshooting

The following advice should help you to solve problems. If this does not work, our online documentation will provide help:
http://manual.teufelaudio.com

Problem Possible cause/solution
The control LED (10) is not illuminated. Make sure that power is supplied.

Check to make sure that the mains cord is securely seated. Check whether the mains switch (20) on the back side is switched on.
The fuse in the active speaker is defective. To replace the fuse:

  1. Remove the mains cord.

  2. Carefully pull the fuse holder on the mains connector jack out.

  3. Push the old fuse down and out. Insert a new fuse (T 1.25 A / 250 V).

  4. Push the holder back.

Setup fails.| Restart your router and your smartphone or tablet.
Set up the device near your router and switch any repeaters off for the duration of the setup process. If your router provides guest access, do not use it to connect your Teufel streaming devices.
Read the notes in our online documentation at: http://manual.teufelaudio.com/setup.
The app is not connected or fails to locate the configured streaming devices.| Make sure that the Teufel streaming devices and the smart device are operated with the Teufel Raumfeld App on the same Wi-Fi. Restart your router. Briefly disconnect your Teufel streaming devices from the power supply and then start them again.
You can find more information in our online documentation: http://manual.teufelaudio.com.
Music playback skips or is inter- rupted.| It is possible that one or more Teufel device(s) do not have a Wi-Fi signal or it is too weak.
Place the devices closer to the router, try alternative setup locations or connect devices, which are set up far away, with an Ethernet cable. In the event of problems with multi- room systems with three or more devices, we recommend connecting at least one of the devices with an Ethernet cable and setting it as the host.
As a test, refrain from using repeaters. If applicable, use an audio stream with low resolution.
Also visit the website of the router manufacturer for tips on how to improve your Wi-Fi.
You can find more information in our online documentation: http://manual.teufelaudio.com.

I would like to reset the device.

| Notice: By resetting the device, all system configuration settings will also be reset.
Resetting the device: When the device is switched on, use a paper clip that has been bent straight to push the reset button (13) and hold it down until the device restarts (for at least 8 seconds).

Disposal

Important information in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (Germany: ElektroG)

We advise owners of electrical and electronic appliances that old electrical and electronic devices must be handed in separately from municipal waste, in accordance with the applicable regulations. Batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not firmly enclosed in old electrical devices and lamps, and that can be removed from the old device without destroying them, must be separated from them in a non-destructive manner before they are handed to the collection point for their intended disposal. Please take note of our information on the Batteries Act [Germany: BattG] below for disposing of batteries.
You make an important contribution to returning, recycling and further processing of old devices if you separate your old devices into the correct collection groups for recycling.
The symbol below of a crossed-out dustbin, applied to electrical and electronic appliances, also advises of the duty to separate collections:

Consumer electronics stores and supermarkets are obliged, under certain conditions, to take back old electrical and electronic devices, in accordance with section 17 of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act. Stationary retailers must take back an old electrical device of the same type when a new electrical device is bought (1:1 return). This also applies to home deliveries.
These retailers must also take back up to three small old electrical devices (≤ 25cm) without this being linked to a new purchase (0:1 return).
In accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act, as online retailers of electrical devices and due to our product range, our obligation is limited to 1:1 return of large devices of > 50 cm when selling a new electrical or electronic device of the same type. We comply with the obligation of return of devices other than large devices through our service provider.
You can find the exact contact data and collection points on our website www.Teufel.de/entsorgung. It is also possible to return old electrical and electronic appliances free of charge at an official delivery point run by the public waste disposal authorities.

Important: For safety reasons we ask that you refrain from sending lighting fixtures (some lamps). For return of lighting fixtures please use the public waste disposal collection points or contact us directly at
www.Teufel.de/entsorgung.

As an end-user, you are responsible for deleting any personal data on old electrical appliances before handing it in.

Important: Our appliances can contain batteries/rechargeable batteries. If this is the case, please refer to its attached product documentation for additional information on the type and chemical make-up of the battery. For products with battery compartments you can directly remove the batteries or rechargeable batteries and dispose of them properly. If the batteries are built in to the product, do not in any case attempt to remove the batteries yourself, instead contact one of our employees or appropriate specialist staff.
