Insert SIM and memory cards
- Insert the card pin into the hole on the SIM card tray, and then push until the tray pops out.
- Place the SIM card on the tray. Make sure that the card’s gold contacts face down into the device and that the card is positioned as shown.
- If you have a memory card, place it on the tray with the gold contacts facing down.
- Slide the SIM card/Memory card tray back into the slot.
Notes:
- If the SIM card is not inserted correctly, the device cannot detect it. Reorient the card and place it back into the slot if the SIM is not detected.
- Use only original Nano-SIM cards. The use of incompatible SIM cards may damage the card or the device and may corrupt data stored on the card.
- Use only compatible memory cards approved for use with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
- Do not remove the memory card when an app is using it. Doing so may damage the memory card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
- Use a fast, up to 128 GB TF memory card.
Charge the battery
The device is powered by a rechargeable, standard lithium polymer battery. A USB Type-C charger (charging head and USB cable) is included with the device for charging the battery from any standard outlet.
- Insert the USB cable into the USB charger/Accessory port.
- Connect the USB cable to the charging head, and then plug the charging head into a standard outlet.
- Unplug the charging head from the outlet and remove the USB cable from the device when charging is complete.
Notes:
- Charge the device with a compatible charger. Charger plug types may vary. Charging time can vary depending on device capability.
- While charging, the device and the charger may become hot and stop charging. This usually does not affect the device’s lifespan or performance and is in the device’s normal range of operation. Disconnect the charger from the device and wait for the device to cool down.
- The device is with a non-removable battery. Do not attempt to remove the battery, as you may damage the device.
Turn on/off the device
Press and hold the Power Button at the side to turn the device Orloff. Do not use the device if the body is cracked or broken. Use the device only after it has been repaired.
- To turn the device on, press and hold the Power Button until the device is on.
- To turn the device off, press and hold the Power Button >GP Power off. Confirm when prompted.
- To restart the device, press and hold the Power Button > Restart. Confirm when prompted.
Notes:
- The first time you turn the device on, a Wekome animation is displayed. It guides you through the basics of setting up the device.
- Follow the prompts to choose a default language, connect to a Wi-Fi® network, set up accounts, choose location services, learn about the features of the device, and more.
Lock/unlock the device
Use the device’s screen lock features to secure the device. By default, the
device locks automatically when the screen times out.
You can choose from the following screen lock types that offer high, medium,
or no security: Pattern, PIN, Password, Swipe, and None. Swipe and None don’t
offer high security. It is recommended to use a secure screen lock (Pattern,
PIN,or Password) to secure the device. This is necessary to set up and enable
Face Unlock.

From Settings, tap Security > Screen lock.

Tap a secure screen lock (Pattern, PIN, or Password), and then select the notification preferences:
• Show all notification content
• Show sensitive content only when unlocked
• Don’t show notifications at all -
Tap Done to exit the menu.

Configure the following screen lock options:
a. Smart Lock: Keep the device unlocked while it’s on you, as specific places that you trust, or near your connected devices. It’s available only when Pattern, PIN, or Password is used.
b. You can enable Face Unlock to unlock the screen: 0 Tap Settings > SecurityFace unlock. 0 Select what backup unlocking method you want to use for the lock screen and follow the instructions shown on the device.
Notes:
- To use your face to unlock the device, you must set a Pattern, PIN, or Password.
- Keep your eyes open and make sure your face is fully visible and not covered by any object, such as a hat or sunglasses.
- Using your face to unlock the device is less secure than using a pattern or a password. The device may be unlocked by someone or something with a similar appearance.
Languages and input settings
Configure the device’s language and input settings.

Change the device language You can add languages to the list and organize them according to preference. If an app does not support the default language, then it will move to the next supported language in the list.

Tap a secure screen lock (Pattern, PIN, or Password), and then select the notification preferences:
• Show all notification content
• Show sensitive content only when unlocked
• Don’t show notifications at all -
Tap Done to exit the menu.

Languages and input settings
Configure the device’s language and input settings.

Change the device language You can add languages to the list and organize them according to preference. If an app does not support the default language, then it will move to the next supported language in the list.
From Settings, tap System > Languages and input > Languages.
Tap Add a language and select a language from the list.
Long press the desired language and move it to the top to set it as the device language.
To switch to another language on the list, long-press the desired language, and move it to the top. -
Keyboards settings You can select a default keyboard for the device’s menus and keyboards. Additional keyboards can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. 40 From Settings, tap System > Languages and input
1. Tap On-screen keyboard > Choose a keyboard to set up according to preference.
Date and time
By default, the device receives date and time information from the wireless network. Outside of network coverage, you can set the date and time manually. From Settings, tap System > Date and time. The following options are available:
- Set time automatically Receive date and time updates from the wireless network.
- Set date Enter the current date (only available when Set time automatically is disabled).
- Set time Enter the current time (only available when Set time automatically is disabled).
- Automatic time zone Enable to use of network-provided time zone.
- Select time zone Choose the local time zone (only available when the Automatic time zone is disabled).
- Use location to set time zone To update the time zone based on your location.
- Use locale default Enable it to use locale default.
- Use 24-hour format Set the format for displaying time.
- Choose date format Change how the date appears on the device.
Status bar
The Status bar at the top of the Home screen provides device information (such
as network status, battery charge, and time) on the right side and
notification alerts on the left. For quick access to notifications, settings,
and more, simply swipe down from the top right of the screen to display the
Notification panel. To activate features, tap the quick settings icons on the
notification panel. To rearrange the icons, tap ** , tap and hold an icon,
and then drag it to another location

Using apps
The Apps list displays all preloaded and downloaded apps. Apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and other sources.
- Get apps from Google Play Store
You need to have a Google account added to the device to use Google Play services. Charges may apply to some of the content available in Google Play. To add a payment method, tap Play Store > > Payment methods. Always be sure to have permission from the payment method owner when buying content from Google Play.
- Add a Google account to the device ® Tap Settings > Passwords& accounts > Add account > Google. If asked, confirm the device lock method. Type in Google account credentials and tap Next, or, to create a new account, tap Create an account.
- Follow the instructions on the device.
- Download apps
1. Tap Play Store. Tap the search bar to look for apps or select apps from your recommendations.
2.In the app description, tap Install to download and install the app.
2. Get Apps from other sources You can allow installation of unknown third- party or sources. Tap an app or a source, and then tap Allow from this source. Notes: Installing unknown third-party apps could make the device and personal data more vulnerable to security risks.
3. Uninstall or disable apps Installed apps can be removed from the device. Some apps that are preloaded (available on the device by default) can only be disabled. Disabled apps are turned off and hidden from the Apps list. From Settings, tap Apps > App apps, tap an app, and tap UninstalVDisable.
Internet and connections
Manage connections between the device and a variety of networks and other
devices.
Wi-Fi Turn on Wi-Fi
You can connect the device to a Wi-Fi network to access the Internet without
using your mobile data. If both Wi-Fi and mobile data connections are
available, the device uses a Wi-Fi connection.
- From Settings, tap ****Wi-Fi, and then tap to tum on Wi-Fi and scan for available networks.
- Tap a network, and enter a password if required.
After connecting, the network is “Saved”. When the device is near and Wi-Fi is on, the device automatically connects to this network.
Connect to a hidden WI-Fi network
If the Wi-Fi network you want is not listed after a scan, you can still
connect to it by entering the information manually, Ask the Wi-Fi network
administrator for the name and password before using it.
- From Settings, tap WI-FI, and then tap Cm to tum on Wi-Fi.
- Tap+ Add network.
- Enter information about the Wi-Fi network:
- Network name:
Type the exact name of the network. - Security: Select a security option from the list, and enter the password if required.
- Advanced: Define other advanced options, such as IP and Proxy settings. 4. Tap Save.
Advanced Wi-Fi settings
To configure connections to various types of Wi-Fi networks
From Settings, tap Cf: VVi-F, and then tap LM-Fr preferences at the bottom.
- Tum on Wi-Fi automatically: Turn on Wi-Fi in frequently-used locations.
- Notify for public networks: Notify when a high-quality public network is available.
- Install certificates: Install authentication certificates.
- Wi-Fi Direct: To share data between devices.
Mobile networks
Use Mobile networks to configure the device’s ability to connect to mobile
networks and use mobile data. Options may vary by carrier. If two SIM cards
are put into the device, it shows both cards. Choose the one you want to set
up. From Settings, tap SIM card & mobile data> Mobile network > SIM 1 or 2
- Mobile Data: To enable/disable to access data using the mobile network
- Data roaming: Choose whether to allow the device to connect to mobile data while traveling outside your carrier’s network area.
- App data usage: View data usage over mobile connections over a period of time. You can view total usage as well as usage by app.
- Advanced setting: To enable VoLTE, choose the preferred network type and choose or add Access Point Names.
Monitor mobile data
You can customize mobile data access by setting limits and restrictions.
Options may vary by carrier. From Settings, tap SIM card & mobile data >
Mobile network > SIM 1 or 2 >Data warning & limit. The following options are
available:
- Mobile data usage cyder Tap the drop-down menu and then choose a time period for data usage. Data usage for the period is displayed on the graph, along with usage by the application at the bottom of the screen.
- Set data warning: Enable/Disable data warning.
- Data warning: Receive a warning when the device has reached the set warning amount of data usage.(Only when the data warning is enabled)
- Set data limit: Enable/Disable data limit.
- Data limit: The device will turn off mobile data once it reaches the limit you set. (Only when the data limit is enabled).
Turn on Data Saver
Use Data Saver to reduce your data consumption by preventing selected apps
from sending or receiving data in the background.
(r) From Settings, tap SIM card & mobile data > Data saver.
Tap to turn on the Data saver.
Notes: To allow some apps to have unrestricted data usage, tap
Unrestricted data while the Data saver is on, and tap next to each app to
specify restrictions.
Factory data reset
You can reset the device to factory defaults, erasing all data from the
device. This action permanently erases All data from the device, including
Google or other account settings, system and application data and settings,
downloaded applications, as well as music, photos, videos, and other tiles.
Any data stored on an external TF card is not affected.
When you sign in ta a Google Account on the device, Factory Reset Protection
(FRP) is activated. This protects the device in the event it is lost or
stolen. Hf you reset the device to factory default settings with the FRP
feature activated, you must enter the user name and password for a registered
Google Account to regain access to the device. You will not be able to access
the device without the correct credentials.
Notes: Hf you reset your Google Account password, it can take 24 hours
for the password reset to sync with all devices registered to the account.
Before resetting the device:
- Verify that the information you want to keep has been transferred to your storage area.
- Log in to your Google Account and confirm your username and password.
To reset the device:
- From Settings, tap System > Reset option> Erase all data (Factory reset)
- Tap Reset and follow the prompts to perform the reset.
- When the device restarts, follow the prompts to set up the device.
Factory Reset Protection
When you sign in to a Google Account on the device, Factory Reset
Protection (FRP) is activated. FRP prevents other people from using the device
if it is reset to factory settings without your permission. For example, if
the device is lost or stolen and a factory data reset is performed, only
someone with your Google Account username and password can use the device. You
will not be able to access the device after a factory data reset if you do not
have your Google Account username and password.
Enable Factory Reset Protection
Adding a Google Account to the device automatically activates the FRP
security feature.
Disable Factory Reset Protection
To disable FRP, remove all Google Accounts from the device. From Settings, tap
Passwords aaccounts> Google Account. Tap Remove account.
