PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The longest standing model in the FSR rooftop tent lineup has been enhanced and updated… introducing the High Country V2 King and Mini!

So, what has changed? The High Country V2 boasts an entire new take on the traditional softshell tent by using a hybrid design. That means you get all the benefits of a traditional soft-shell tent like 90° inches of sleeping length, a smaller footprint on your vehicle when closed, reduced overall height and weight, plus now you have the ability to transport extra gear on top of the tent with the addition of our High Country V2 crossbars.

We designed this tent to be a true four-season addition to your adventures. The tent includes our Tri-Layer Technology on the interior roof, windows, and doors. We have also included nocium bug mesh screens, PVC windows, and 5″ round hose connects for those cold winter nights or hot summer days (heat/AC). This tent was designed for all your adventures across all four seasons.
The High Country V2 is available in two sizes: Mini and King.

Exterior Tent Features

The High Country V2 boasts several exterior features that are new for 2023-2024. Starting with a hybrid exterior shell design that allows you to always keep your cover on. It has a fiberglass honeycomb top and bottom shell which allows for crossbars to be added on the top of the frame which allows you to store gear. Now onto the tent skin starting with a zip on/off full coverage rain fly with PVC exterior windows. The unique feature about our full coverage rain fly is that it is not connected to the tent body. Why is that important? The rain fly creates a void between the tent body and the tent fly that allows the air to circulate around the tent and creates a natural insulation layer. That benefits you in the heat and colder temperatures by not allowing the elements to heat up your interior tent body, hence regulating temperature with no direct contact to the interior tent space.

Interior Tent Features

Once you are fully set up and get the chance to climb inside the new High Country V2 you will get the feeling that space is abundant. That is one of the best features of the hybrid foldout design. In our mini version, you are getting 50″ of mattress width and a whopping 90″ of sleeping length. In the King you are getting 77″ of mattress width and the same 90″ of sleeping length, that is larger than a king size bed. The features don’t stop with an abundance of space, we have included our four-season Tri-Layer fabric on the ceiling of the tent, the windows, and the doors accompanied by our 300D tech fabric for the body.

As with every FSR tent our dimmable LED feature comes standard with the tent as well as four strategically located gear pockets on the interior.

Note: If you want to take your comfort to another level you can upgrade to our Air Core mattress which will allow you to store bedding inside or our new cloud topper mattress cover. (Note: Bedding stored inside is recommended with the air core mattress not with foam mattress).

Big Thanks

To all of you who spoke to us at shows, emailed, and communicated with FSR about enhancements we could make to the High Country Series, we want to say

THANK YOU!

You are the reason we do this and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Cheers to the High Country V2 Mini and King! Happy Camping!

INSTALLATION STEPS

  1. Install your roof rack per the manufacturer’s instructions and in the load bearing position on the vehicle. With two or more people, lift the High Country V2 Mini or King Rooftop Tent upward, beside the vehicle and put it on top of the roof rack. Adjust the tent to the roof rack’s center. If your vehicle has a rear door that opens vertically, please ensure the door can open and close with the High Country V2 Rooftop Tent on top of your vehicle.FREESPIRIT-RECREATION-V2-High-Country-King-and-Mini-fig-6
  2. Slide the M8x50 hexagc bolts into the ramimum both sides ensuring you have positioned 8 of them. Lastly, fix the u-shape stator.
  3. Ladder Installation: The ladder on the High Country V2 is removable by a quick release mechanism. It is not meant to be stored on the tent during travel but inside your car or inside the tent. The ladder is an essential piece of equipment. and you want to take precautions to take care of it. The cycles of moisture can run havoc on a telescoping ladder especially during freeze and thaw cycles.FREESPIRIT-RECREATION-V2-High-Country-King-and-Mini-fig-8
  4. To install the ladder, you will need to identify the two quick release plates and mstall them as shown in the diagram below using a lock washer and bolt. This should be centered on the top rails of the tent to ensure proper use of the tent. The ladder should be mounted on the opposite track without the rubber guard that is present on the opposite side.FREESPIRIT-RECREATION-V2-High-Country-King-and-Mini-fig-9
  5. Support Pole Installation: Each High Country V2 comes with two threaded support poles. At this point in the installation we are going to find the two threaded plates and install them 2″ -4″ from the end of the top rails. To do this you will need 4 plates to slid into the track, 4 bolts, and lock washers to attach firmly. Once you flip the tent open, these will face the ground and give additional support to the fold outside of the tent.
